The V1 is much cheaper now, and IMHO if you don't need the v2 features, its a steal.
Truly the best soundbar I have experience with, bought it in May 2018 through Lazada, and still working in good condition up till today, It had USB + Optical + Bluetooth that made it easy for me to change between Laptop / PC / PS4 / PS3 and my Phone, the sound also clear and good to hear ( i am not an expert in sound quality I would not comment much on this haha ) but for me, its really good, the sound range volume from 1 - 50 and I just use up to 20 for every audio because it's already loud enough. Worth it.
Just bought it, the subwoofer is really important, sound quality is totally different with the bass it provided.
i would have to say that i prefer speakers with the fabric covering because there's a significant difference in the sound quality
I got one of these on the way. When you started talking about the lighting effects and controlling the direction, I immediately was hoping I could do Knight Rider....then you actually did it. I can not wait to get mine hooked up!

If you are considering this and the Logitech G560, I'll tell you this, the audio quality of the Logitech is superior for a few of reasons: 1) The Logitech's speakers face you directly, whereas the Katana's midrange drivers point straight up. 2) The logitech's can be placed further apart for more noticeable stereo separation. 3) The Logitech has a larger subwoofer and has more power. Don't get me wrong, the Katana is very nice. And it does reach into the higher frequencies better. But in a head to head, audio wise, the G560s are noticeably better.
Thanks for the review! I was thinking about getting speakers from Kanto for 800+ Dollars but man, that's a price. I bought the Blaster Soundbar because I don't expect the sound from the Kanto to be that much better. It's 500 Dollars difference so how much % is the sound better? Don't want to waste too much money, especially when I'm not able to hear both speakers in person. They're coming tomorrow, but I think I'll be satisfied. :)

I agree, back when I was considering a sound bar because it's just way more neat without all the OCD-triggering positioning and cables, they were all trash except for the SUPER expensive ones.

This one is so cool but I just got the Razer Raptor 27 so I think the Leviathan would probably be best for me as my desk is limited to 48 inches wide and I'm only going to use 1 monitor for my youtube content with a small tower. Im thinking if 8 was to sit the Leviathan on top of the RGB lighted Aluminum Base of the Raptor 27, it should look like if it has RGB Lighting lol.
I use my katana as a home theatre with my TV haha its too good! Parties are amazing when friends connect to it via Bluetooth

I have the Sound Blaster X external sound card, and its great! The only thing that sucks is that you can only have one source connected to it.
I bought this for my triple monitor setup and was blown away at how good it actually is , volume is overkill though

Thanks, great review... second video saying the same things... looking for something to elevate the experience for a loved ones sound that isn't going to be playing it loud anyway.
The fact the lights can be customized will make it easy to have the lighting enhancing the aesthetics of mood setting... I don't think they would like full muti-colour RGB, but that isn't a issue it seems.
I feel like it would be a good system also for me to do a mix checks on real world lower price range subwoofer systems.
Optical input allows for some clever intuitive solutions to source switching also... so for me this seem like a obvious choice.
The optical input will also mean all digital sound sources will hit the same converters so the sound will always be unified eliminating the issue of two much choice when it comes to sound and there for a easy system to have to get used to the sound and how it's meant to sound so I can indeed use it as a reference monitor when I feel I've gotten to the end of a mix and just need to check some real world scenarios.

I've checked reviews and there seems to be quality control issue with this product. The only reason why I'm hesitant to get one. Not many choices for PC really, so might actually give it a try probably. Just around 225usd, promo price here.

I'm in the market for a pc soundbar, and have gotten to play with both this and the Razer Leviathan. This Katana is the cooler of the two with regards to look and quality, and it's the one I would prefer to purchase. Audio wise, the Razer is a better sounding system though, with a subwoofer that crushes the one which comes with the Katana. I'm going to keep shopping I think.

went to a shop, asked for that, was told they have lots of better choices for this price, been shown a samsung one which was twice as big, with twice as big subwoofer aswell, and sound was actually whole lot better. still cant decide, as i was looking for something small to fit in front of my tv stand, but damn that samsung sound...

Always wondered if the LIGHTS and SUCH made the computer run any better - in my honest opinion - it's waste as I don't WATCH my computer, I don't have others WATCH my computer.. so...
i'm slowly getting my gaming set-up all put together and am also in the process of getting my hands on a PC. My current set-up has a monitor hooked up to an Xbox, and i just play all the audio through headphones that plug into the controller, so if i wanted to watch netflix or hulu off my console, I would have to listen to it through my headset. My monitor does not have speakers (Samsung Odyssey G7), and I am wondering if this sound bar plugs into a monitor (via audio jack or usb) and can play audio from both my xbox when im on HDMI, and then my future pc when im on Display Port? I'm entirely new to this sort of stuff, having always been a couch gamer with my xbox playing audio from my tv speakers so this is totally new to me, any help will be greatly appreciated since i very much enjoyed your review and am considering getting my hands on this, or another Creative Sound audio piece!

So what you are saying i think is that iit is not for an audiophile type person it is more for gamers and head bangers.
I've always wanted this, the dang thing never goes on sale and 4 years later I kinda wonder if it's still worth it.
I don't know how well they sold, it seems borderline impossible to find one second hand (used) anywhere for anything under the MSRP. I really like it though, maybe they will make a second version of it (Creative tends to do that) and the original will drop in price some, just can't reasonably justify that $250usd price tag.

Iv had mine for a few years! i love it But iv had an LED problem a week after i bought it.. the rainbow will glitch and not work, also i have a dead one at the very end. sometimes they dont work at all. Any ideas?

Is there a point in geting V1 instead of V2 now?
I dont suggest my Bass without reason stop working while playing and you need restart or random luck that it works again for a time being.

I have have a cabinet that i built its asbout 4.5" tall and has the monitors sitting on top of it. I made this so i can stick my old vizio under my monitor without taking up space. I am worried about the upward firing speakers. Are those just for sub freq. or would it mess up the sound having the top covered?

Hi. I want to ask a question because i am interesting for this soundbar. I own a sound card (Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus) and i want to use this to connect with soundbar because support (probably) better quality sound than a usb connect. How can i use this soundbar with sound card? Via Optical so i can have the 7.1 surround OR by other method ? I don't care about the soundbar app because i have the sound cards app.

It works really good with movies. Probably also good with gaming but I havent tried since I mostly use headphones for gaming. When I run a 7.1 virtual surround test on youtube it sounds really good like with explosions and such

I dislike it. The sound is thin, unnatural/not organic and the bass is bad. The Gigaworks S750 is still king of sound and the Gigaworks T40, without bass and much cheaper also sounds better (fuller, more detail) when combined with a good sound card (I use the ZxR).
Worth it... in 2019? Please explain why it would become worse over time. It's not a smartphone :D
