    Arrows are many times slow to kill a large tough animal like a Polar Bear, a rifle back up is a must for all bow hunters after a bear of any species. Before guns were introduced to the Eskimos I am sure some native hunters lost their lives trying to bring down a bear with a bow or spear.

      He made a bad first shot though. If he’d have clipped just one lung it would’ve collapsed & they would have been in business or just nicked it’s liver, both fatal shots but take a while for the animal.to die. That arrow didn’t find any vitals though. It would’ve eventually bled out but that could take a long long time. He was way high in the shoulder

    • @AlexanderMason1

      @@binko969a lung shot does not make you collapse instantly. The animal usually runs of and you have to track it. A liver shot would take forever and is just unethical. Tell me you don’t hunt without telling me you don’t hunt.

    A lot of people don't realize that the reason we actually have a decent population of polar bears is due to hunting like this. Polar bear boars, just like boars of other bear species, will kill younger bears every chance that they get. It's estimated that as many has 50% of cubs are killed by older bears before reaching maturity. That figure stretches across the board, whether polar bear, grizzly, brown, or black. By harvesting the occasional older male bear, that allows the cubs that he would have killed to survive. It's been proven that in areas where polar bear hunting is legal that the population is much healthier than in areas where it is not allowed because more cubs are allowed to reach maturity.
    Polar bear hunting is beneficial not only for the bears, but the native people as well. The natives are allotted a certain number of tags every year, which they can choose to either fill themselves or sell to hunters. If they decide to sell the tag, not only are they still getting meat, but they are also making some money, which isn't easily made that far north. It benefits all in the end. I know lots of people don't approve of polar bear hunting, but it's really important to look past ones own feelings on the subject and see the big picture and what an important role hunting plays in the management and preservation of not just the bears, but the entire ecosystem.

    • @alphonsozorro7952
      @alphonsozorro7952 Před 4 lety +6

      "It's been proven that in areas where polar bear hunting is legal that the population is much healthier than in areas where it is not allowed because more cubs are allowed to reach maturity."
      "Proven" by hunter-sponsored propaganda. Natives too get materialistic to sell their "quotas" and cash money. Before the white invasion they hunted for survival, not for money or "fun".

    • @rolledsocks5167
      @rolledsocks5167 Před 4 lety +3

      Less bears doesn't equal better bear population it equals less bears. Polar bears are an apex predator there is nothing natural or environmentally friendly about killing them, their numbers depend on their prey not humans intervening and making everything worst. And I pity those poor native people they are poisoning themselves by eating those bears and they don't even know it. Shame on you Canada for not banning this long ago.

    • @cassandra6429
      @cassandra6429 Před 4 lety

      I hope you and your hunter friends, along with natives and their freaking quotas will get COVID -- 19 ( and I mean the serious case of infection).
      Chinese population got rich almost overnight and now it is considered cool and stylish to have a tiger or an arctic bear hide thrown on the floor. Therefore natives ask for more quotas and Canada can not introduce the low, forbidding an export of arctic bear remains abroad.
      Chinese are interfering in all wild life everywhere and this virus, in my opinion, the nature's way of fighting back. They are dying first, we will, later, because we all saw what was going on and didn't stop it.
      BTW. They also love eating dogs and young kittens. I have a video, when they cook a dog in the boiling oil while it is alive. Do you want me to send you a video?
      As for your bubbling about hunting being beneficial for the bear population, I have 3 things to say to you
      1. How about human population control? I think it will also might be beneficial for the humanity. Let us start with sport hunters.
      2. Who, the f..k are you to decide what is beneficial for the wild nature and what is not, are you a professional zoologist, environmentalist, biologist?
      3. The Arctic Bear is on the Endangered Species List and it pains me to say it, but if not for Russians and their special programs along with lifetime jail sentence for killing a Bear for sport or money, we would not even had a half of a population, that we do right now.
      Good luck with Chinese pandemic

    That arrow clearly got stuck in the shoulder with almost no penetration. The bear would have lived another 20 years, so he was dam lucky there was a guy with a rifle.
    As for the hunts, animal rights groups like to mislead people in order to influence them. Bear populations actually increase with hunting, because any normal hunter would never kill a mother and cubs, and it's the big males that kill the most bears by killing off cubs. With less big males, the little ones get a chance to grow up.
    They pulled this trick out in western Canada with grizzly bears, and now no one can trophy hunt, but it's exactly the trophies that are mostly older, not many years left in them, but they still kill cubs that are the ones who would help the population if removed.
    I always say, if you're cause is so just, then you don't need to lie.

This man would have died if his companion had not used his rifle. And then not a word a gesture to value the animal ... These bears, even then, were noble animals. In fact, the bestiality came from those city men over-equipped to kill for free without courage and without honor. A perfect image of the decline of men, and the demonstration of the loss of awareness in the value and respect for life due to a totally distorted view coming from pure consumers, living in city life and totaly disconnected to Nature. The arrow didn't kill the bear. The rifle shot did. The bear had one opportunity to kill the archer, when he was approaching the bear too close; but even after smelling his presence it let him shoot the arrow, without reacting. Had the bear lunged at the archer as it did after being wounded, he would have been killed before the rifle man had time to react. Too bad.

    really lame and disgusting... if you go hunting make it fast and painless for the creature... this is pure self gratification by the archer... dude: stick to squirrels

      Once the arrow doesn't kill the bear ASAP, to me it seems as they should have put the down with the gun to prevent anymore suffering by the bear.

      @@sw-fd4tyThis was someone who totally went about it the wrong way in proving he is a big brave hunter killing with just a bow and arrow. Ancestors I'm sure are frowning down at the way this was handled. I'm also positive that no glory was bestowed on hunter by anymeans. Shameful and a disgrace to the Ancestors was what this person brought upon them. Way to go nimrod

    I do not hunt animals in this way because it is a terrorist and brutal method. I do not sow pain and blood in the hearts and souls of innocent animals, so that others do not sow pain and blood in my heart and myself. I do not take pride in taking pictures with them after killing them because this act is barbaric, brutal, terrorist, and inhuman, and in fact it is the victory of the animal with its brutality and instinct over the human hunter !!! This is the height of cowardice, villainy and meanness. I seek to protect these innocent animals from all barbarity and barbaric terrorist killings. I never participate in the channels that publish images of brutal and terrorist killing of poor innocent poor poor animals. Thank..
