My question to you is a little different from the topic discussed in the video. I am a postgraduate and want to decide my PhD topic and prepare a proposal for that, and to do that I would need some guidance on how to actually select the topic. My interest is in Agriculture Biotechnology and I want to work on leguminous plants and CRISPR is a fascinating technique to me. what I have decided is to go through the recent trends in these two topics recently, though the process is taking time , and the find a research gap and prepare a proposal according to that. I want to know whether this way of me selecting a topic is effective and efficient to create a powerful proposal or not.

Being jrf I selected for the aiims for my phd after qualifying their written n interview.
