I just.. I admire them. I respect them. I wish they knew how many good people are out here, respecting them and understanding them. When I'm older, I will go there and help them out. I really want to do that.

Hello Pastaseed, I recently connected with one of the slum dwellers- Eric. also known as Vocal Slender. Search for him on Facebook. The good news is that not only has he turned his life around, but he has also set up an initiative to help other slum dwellers. It is possible to help by contributing to his initiatives. Have a look first though. God bless

People work on Landfills all over the world, We need to look at it from the perspective of the great service this individuals are providing in terms of recycling. They need to be absorbed into the government and continue working under better supervision and hopefully the sanitation challenges in Lagos will be resolved.

I was in Lagos for 6years before coming to America, in my wildest dreams I did not know that people goes through this, I am so touched right now, it hurts to see a country so rich like Nigeria having her citizens go through this, it is crazy, unspeakable.

They just dont seem to be moved by it because everyone grew up with one form of hardship or the other. I didnt grow up in the slums but i did have my own share of hardship.

@21wf those are the affluent few. Most ppl in the West wouldn't relocate to Nigeria because corruption is rife.

I done understand what people are barking about. This has nothing to do with a corrupted government or not a corrupted government This is about the power of belief when it seem impossible. who would ever thought that those scavengers have a dream? But as you can see, they have a dream despite difficulties they face.

Life e no easy for Naija,It gets alot worse then what BBC is showing us here.lol.. BUT still, ive NEVER seen more optimistic and charismatic people in my life... They still find faith and love in their hearts, family values, a sense of community even if they are living under such hard conditions, Which is more then i can say about us spoiled westerners. Immagine if the tables were turned? We would probably just sit down n say "f*ck it all.".... I love Naija DIE oo.

@21wf None of what you have said has got anything to do with government corruption. Everyone knows that virtually every gov. official gets paid off in Nigeria. Stop lying to yourself.
