Late summer of 87, and two 19 year old kids met and, before long, fell for each other. It was short but very sweet and, after an intense couple of months, they went their separate ways and lived their own lives. This song was a constant reminder of that glorious time. Fast forward 34 years later and, by pure coincidence, their paths crossed once more. The feelings were still there, stronger than before after so many years. Now those kids are both together. I love you Urchin. Always have, always will. X ❤
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ i know the feeling brother, met a long lost friend of 17 years, met when where kids. Became best friends and now many years later we are lovers once more. Ily tiff

Goodness gracious. I pray this ends up being my situation… I am in something similar. Thankyou
I fkn love it! Right on!
While reading this, I was hoping that's the turn it took!! I honestly wish the same for me...miss her
This album came out August 3rd, 1987. I was working as the food and beverage manager for a major hotel chain, 24 years old. Bought this on cassette 3 days after it came out (Def Leppard fan since On Through The Night). Got married less than 3 weeks later. Our wedding was at my in laws house 260 miles away. Night before me and my fiance left for the wedding trip in my 63 Ford Galaxy 500, I brought a 100 watt Sony amp with a 12 volt adapter out to my car and hooked it up to my 5 watt per channel cassette deck, then brought my huge Pioneer home speakers out and put them in the backseat. Drove all 260 miles to our wedding with this album just blasting. I'll always call Hysteria our wedding album.
Me and my buddy used to do that with his stereo in the car of his Dad's which wasn't working. We'd sit there for hours listening to different musics. But it was mostly Rock and Dirty Rap. We both loved Too Short. We were more like 6th graders though.
#awesome
Great story!! Great album
Awesome bro
Was jamming to it in my 62 Ford Galaxie 500 back then as well and I still have the car today!
The generation that got to experience the 80' was the Best of the Best. Im Blessed to be alive and know how awesome the 80's were. After the 80's the music has slowly went into the sewer.
We never had Cell Phones...Thank God we had the Best face to face connections. Love was all around us. We had friends all around us, group meetings and parties and life was fun and we looked into each others eyes talked and laughed in person. We hugged we fought and most of all we loved each other.. No Cell Phones,No Guns,No internet !! We had the Best generation. I was Blessed to be there !!
Best ten years of my life
I hear you but have you thoroughly checked out the 70`s music? Don`t get me wrong I love 80`s music and have attended many of the 80`s supergroup`s concerts but to me it`s like 70`s groups provided the inspirations for so much 80`s and 90`s music.
Millennial gen here and let me tell you how envy I am it was absolutely BEST OF THE BEST maybe in another life I'll get the chance to live it, i love all the songs cant tell which is my fav because ALL OF THEM ARE HITS!!!

My brother just passed away in April at the age of 56 from a massive heart attack. He standing on the porch and just dropped dead. This was his favorite, def Leppard. I’m walking down memory lane right now. I miss him so much. These songs make me feel closer to him. He was going to see them on August 31st in Seattle, they were supposed to play several years ago in Seattle but the pandemic hit and it was canceled. several other hard rockers, motley crue , poison, Joan Jett and others. It was rescheduled for August 2022. Ya know, I think he will still attend, I think he will be all over that place with his favorite rockers. 🥲
I'm sorry for your loss and that is sad.
Sorry for your loss. So young. I can’t imagine witnessing what you did. This is a great song to remember him by. Blessings

I'm building a time machine. I want to go back to the summer of 1987 and just stay there. Who wants to come back with me?
Bet. How much will a one-way ticket cost? I'd buy a second one for my girlfriend, so I can say "I got...2 tickets to Paradise!"

I absolutely love the lead guitar tone in this but at 3:27, that’s what a crunch tone should sound like, just plain thick and juicy!

At the age of 54 when I listen to this song it's like I was 16 years old when I first heard this song in 1987. Thanks DL 🇬🇧
Well I am 66 and when I listen to this I also think I am 16 😂😂🎉
I was 16 (Edge of Seventeen?) when Def Leppard dropped this album. Power ballads. Big rocking numbers. "Hysteria" had it all...each song forever bound with memories of an incredible time. Maybe it's a silly thing to say, but I would remember the 80s very differently without "Hysteria". Thank you, Def Leppard!
I'm 50 and I feel 18 again. I love Def Leppard. ❤
Yep! Yep! 55 and feeling that mysteria again. This is ABSOLUTELY one of the best rock songs/ballads ever crafted.

I miss the 80s and I love Def Leppard music and life was good then
It truly was!
I’m a 90s kid, but I do wish i lived the 80s in a way. Seemed like such a fun time! Def Leppard is such a great band!

80s & 90s were epic. Unbelievable times to grow up
80's was our jam, and is still the best music ever!!
Oh yeah the 80s where awesome❣️
Miss those days 😢
This is one of the many love ballads of the 80's. 80's love ballads can't be replicated. I graduated high school 1984 and I still cry because time has passed us by. But these love ballads still remain the same. Nothing to bring back great memories like 80's rock n roll. I will always love the music from the 80's.
Absolutely my friend

This song immediately brings me to the 80's. What can I say, 80's music is mysteriously amazingly incomparable!
I remember this so clearly: my dad''s friend stopped by, back in 1987: "Hey boy, your daddy told me you're into hard rock and metal, so I thought I give you this" - and he handled me the plastic wrapped "Hysteria" cassette. 30 years have passed and I'm still so very grateful!

The song "Hysteria" by Def Leppard is about the feeling of being overwhelmed by emotions, both good and bad. The lyrics describe a state of heightened excitement and anxiety, where the senses are overloaded and the mind is racing. The song can be interpreted as a metaphor for the creative process, or for the experience of being in love.
The song's title comes from the word "hysteria," which can mean either a medical condition characterized by uncontrollable emotional outbursts, or a state of intense excitement or anxiety. In the context of the song, "hysteria" seems to refer to the latter meaning. The lyrics describe a feeling of being so overwhelmed by emotions that it's difficult to think straight. The singer is "out of touch, out of reach," and they feel like they're "going crazy."
However, the song also has a positive side. The singer is excited and passionate about something, and they're not afraid to show it. They're "living on the edge," and they're "ready to explode." The song is a celebration of the power of emotion, and it's a reminder that sometimes, it's okay to lose control.
Here are some of the lyrics that support this interpretation of the song:
"I'm in a state of hysteria I can't think straight I'm out of touch, out of reach I'm going crazy"
"I'm living on the edge I'm ready to explode I'm going to take you with me To the promised land"
"I'm in a world of my own I'm lost in the moment I'm on a journey of discovery I'm finding myself"
Ultimately, the meaning of the song is up to the listener to decide. However, I believe that "Hysteria" is a powerful song about the power of emotion. It's a reminder that sometimes, it's okay to let go and lose control.
Yes this is also Rick Allen's favorite song and I can see why ❤
THERE IS A LOT OF PERFECTION IN ONE SONG. ❤

I gotta know tonight
If you're alone tonight
Can't stop this feelin'
Can't stop this fire
Oh I get hysterical, hysteria
Oh can you feel it?
Do you believe it?
It's such a magical mysteria
When you get that feelin'
Better start believin'
'Cause it's a miracle, oh say you will
'Oh, babe
Hysteria when you're near'
Out of me, into you, yeah
You could hide, it's just a one-way street
Oh, I believe I'm in you, yeah

Oh believe in me
