Damn this game is so hard... i can't even pass the title screen
It hits you hard in places you never expected it to hit you. In some ways it’s similar to earthbound we’re the gameplay is challenging but it has the charm to have you hooked on it

I never played the original but one thing I was always fascinated with in this game was the title screen. It's so simple yet entrancing, from the music and it's progression to the changing time of day. If this was just the Wii version but upscaled, I wouldn't have even suspected anything different.

You know a game is good when you can see the amount of love that went into the title screen alone. Xenoblade Chronicles’s title screen is so simple, yet so powerful. The Monado remains idle, sheathed to the ground while time passes, and an amazing soundtrack plays to tie the whole thing together. So, what are you waiting for? I agree with what your saying, but for me This seems less like the game wanting you to pick it up...and more showing you what happens after it was put down for good. Perhaps its just me, but with the music telling the story in such a heart-tugging way full of emotion but none of them really... "Positive"? It almost feels like this is the Monado's final resting place. After everything that happened, after the world was changed and everyone moved on...this is where the monado was hidden away to sleep forever. A quiet, empty field that stretches beyond the horizon with naught but a quiet breeze and flowers...along with small parts, the remains of the Monado's only true friend in the world, the one thing who believed it could be better until the very end...buried alongside it to rest together. I dunno...maybe the Monado, the True Monado...perhaps it did care for the two after all, in a way we will never understand.

"I think I can wait just a few minutes longer."

I love how now the Monado has proper Dynamic Light instead of just glowing areas.
I can't believe Yoko Shimomura decided to drop this masterpiece, and some other XC1 staples and then just dip from the rest of the series.

Why hasn't Nintendo added menu backgrounds to the Switch? I would love to have a background of this. Hell I'd pay money for a dynamic version.

I don't know what it is about JRPG music but it just gets that melancholy feel of finishing an epic adventure perfectly. Final Fantasy X's To Zanarkand, Final Fantasy 15's Somnus, and this are all great examples
They knew how much the fans loved the title screen, too. They make you press a button before the title pops up and you can load your save file or start a new game. The team knew that we all loved this screen, and they were damn right.
When you finish the game and see this screen again. All the emotions you felt in the game come again.
I'll admit, I got into xenoblade 6 almost seven years ago, I was 10! I never got to play the game which sucked, but I talked about it all the time with my closest friend at the time, when the 3DS remake came out I couldn't play it (didn't own the New Nintendo 3DS only the regular one) but he did. I eventually got a switch like 2 weeks ago and got the DE, and I literally had to stop and process that after all these years I had managed to get this game and I actually cried a little, So far this game is literally my favorite game I've played.
Composed by Yoko Shimomura, is it any wonder I fell in love with this game? Also the transition from Day to Night. I have a feeling this is where Final Fantasy XV got it's idea for it's titlescreen from. Absolutely divine and god like Title theme and Titlescreen sequence.

I have not played FFXV yet, but XC title screen reminded me a lot of FFX title screen: both share a beautiful piano music with the image of a sword in the center of the screen and a sort of panoramic view in the background. I have always thought XC intro was inspired by FFX.

The title screen background looks even more beautiful in HD. I'm so hyped to replay this. This title screen music makes me tear up at the sunset part. Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my most favorite games of all time.

For anyone still looking at this comment section: Xenogears was originally a final fantasy 7 story pitch. Square thought it was too dark, so they let the wife&husband couple who pitched it turn it into Xenogears. After they made it, they left square and went on to found monolith soft together and make xenosaga and Xenoblade! For bonus points, they met while they were both working on the graphic design team for Chrono trigger. Bet you didn't think you'd see this today did you?

It's been a year and a half since I started Xenoblade Chronicles, and almost a year since I beat it, and all I can ask is "How?". How can a game with such a peaceful, simple title screen, accompanied by serine, beautiful music, turn into such a powerful, grand, and epic journey? How is it possible that music can simply make me say "That's really cool.", and then months later when I see the title screen again after beating the game, the same music that game me only a surface level reaction actively make me cry upon realizing what I had just finished playing? How is it possible that one single game hit me at with all the emotions I had felt from entire game franchises? How can I possibly look at gaming the same ever again after experiencing this game?
No, not even this game, this trilogy. How can all three games make me say "I hate this" for the first few hours of actual gameplay, and then have me proclaim Xenoblade Chronicles as my favorite series of all time by the end?

the first time i played this game i couldn't understand how a game could make me feel so connected and angry at moments, it really makes u wanna "change the future" just as Shulk.
My friend got me into Xenoblade Chronicles 2. He brought it to my attention last year but I didn't start playing it until the quarantine started, and maaann! Did that game help me get through the quarantine. I finished the first game almost 2 weeks ago now, and I can't even begin to explain how much I love this series so far. I never finished a video game so fast, nor hsve I ever played 2 games from the same series back to back.

i just absolutely love how this one song manages to capture the feeling of this entire game in one song. it sounds peaceful, hopeful, saddening all at once yet still gives that true sense that something grand is going to happen, how things are going to change and after playing it and seeing it all go down, it just hits so much harder than any other song in the game. a true, rare masterpiece of music.
What i love most about this title screen isn't just the art or even the music, but the further you get into the story the more you understand and the more this whole title screen hurts. Its so simple but so impactful

When i first opened up this game, i was a newcomer to xenoblade and was hit HARD by this title theme, sat through atleast 2 full loops before actually starting the game...
Bro I felt the same, but one that cheesed me out was after playing ffx on the switch when it released april 2019, falling in love and beating it I went to play ffx-2 and fell in love with the title screen as well, just because of the track memories of lightwaves. That game was a disaster and hated it from the get go. This game hasn’t failed me wit the title and the gameplay. What an experience.

I didn't know anything about the first Xenoblade Chronicles at all (only played X prior) but man I couldn't turn the game on for a while after seeing this. The music was perfect and just the lone monado was enough to make me cry. Needless to say, but the rest of the game made me cry too. What a wonderful experience.
This is the fourth game ever that I just sit here and take it in. FfXV, NeiR Automata, and MSG4 being the other two. Just sitting there listening to this beautiful song preparing you for a journey unlike any other. Something that right of the bat you know you are gonna remember for a long time. no flashy intro. In giant title screen. No super intense music. Just the monado and a grassy field..

Aionios is a land locked in less than a second of time. The titlescreen being completely still, with no passage of time at all makes sense for what is a world created between two different worlds that are frozen.
Still got the Wii Version As My Wallpaper Engine looks like ill need to upgrade my Wallpaper to dis now 😋😍Just need that Press Any Button gone hopefully the Emulator Modders can do that

The world ahead is vast - full of life and tranquility, stretching as far as the eye can see. It seems unending, which much to explore beyond its mist.
It all seems at peace, though you may notice some flaws in its perfection. Scraps, armour...the remains of a war long past, forgotten as its remains became one with the world.
At the heart of this world is a sword - a holy weapon, flowing with life day in and day out. Although the world moves forward, although the armour remains still, it never quite dies. It's still connected to the earth, waiting for someone to unsheathe it once more.
Are you ready to pull it from its resting place? Are you prepared to weild it as you walk forward, through the fog that's covered the world beyond this ancient battlefield?
There is still much to find and learn here, and this sword's lifelight may be your only guide in the fog trying to hide it all from you.
The thing I'll miss the most after playing this game would be the title screen.

the monado stuck on a peaceful grassy landscape…. it’s so ironic and that irony just recalls the tale of a boy, who went a journey for the girl and fought against the destiny in the end….
