First-rate interior.
Lackluster fuel economy.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overview
Is the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee a Good Used SUV?
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a good used SUV. It has a strong base V6 engine, as well as two powerful available V8s. The Grand Cherokee also handles well for a midsize SUV . It has an above-average ownership cost, but the Jeep’s interior is filled with nicer-than-average materials. We named the Grand Cherokee our 2013 Best 2-Row SUV for Families .
Used 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Performance and Interior
The base rear-wheel-drive 2013 Grand Cherokee has a 290-horsepower V6 engine matched to a five-speed automatic transmission. There is also an available 360-horsepower V8 engine paired with a six-speed automatic. For even more power, Jeep offers a performance-oriented SRT model, which generates 470 horsepower. The Grand Cherokee handles well. When properly equipped with various packages, the Grand Cherokee has outstanding off-road capabilities. These packages add features like adjustable suspensions, abundant ground clearance, and various traction modes. The Jeep also has comfortable ride quality.
The Grand Cherokee’s fuel economy ranges from an EPA-estimated 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway down to 12/18 mpg city/highway (with the V8 SRT8).
The 2013 Grand Cherokee seats five. Both rows of seats are supportive and comfortable, and they offer good legroom. Cloth seats come standard, but leather seats are available. There are also available heated first- and second-row seats, as well as cooled front seats. The Grand Cherokee has complete sets of LATCH child-seat connectors in the second-row outboard seats and a middle-seat tether anchor.
Among the interior features in the Grand Cherokee are a six-speaker stereo, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Available features include a voice-activated navigation system with Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. The audio and climate controls are easy to use and well-placed.
The Grand Cherokee trails other midsize SUVs when it comes to cargo space. It has just 68.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the second row folded and 35.1 cubic feet when the second-row seats are up.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Safety
The 2013 Grand Cherokee earned four out of five stars in overall safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with four stars in the frontal and rollover crash tests and five stars in the side impact test (four-wheel-drive models). The rear-wheel-drive Grand Cherokee earned three stars in the rollover crash test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the Grand Cherokee a Top Safety Pick. The Jeep earned the highest rating of Good in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and rear crash tests. It received the second-lowest rating of Marginal in the small overlap front crash test. A rearview camera, front park assist, rear park assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and rear cross traffic alert are available in some Grand Cherokees.
Which Used Grand Cherokee Is Right for Me?
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in six trims: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Overland Summit, Trailhawk, and SRT. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has limited features, including dual-zone temperature control, keyless entry, cloth seats, and six-speaker stereo system. The Limited adds features like remote start and heated first- and second-row leather-trimmed seats. The Overland trim has a power liftgate, cooled front seats, and Uconnect with navigation. The Overland Summit adds tow hooks, front park assist, and 20-inch bright polished aluminum wheels. The Trailhawk - designed for off-roading - has a four-wheel-drive system, hill descent control, an air suspension system to adjust ground clearance, skid plates, and full-size spare. In addition to its powerful 6.4-liter V8, the SRT has a Selec-Trac adaptive damping system with track, sport, auto, snow, and tow modes, as well as an electronic limited-slip rear differential, a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, forward collision warning, and rear cross traffic alert. The Laredo is bare-bones for the segment, so you’ll want to start at the Limited trim level.
Even with the Grand Cherokee’s average reliability, you might want to consider a certified pre-owned model. For certified pre-owned Chrysler vehicles, the original new-car powertrain warranty is extended to seven years or 100,000 miles. CPO vehicles also get a three-month/3,000-mile Maximum Coverage Care warranty. - Zábava

You are the man! thank you for your time and explanation on this crazy mopar nightmare. THANK YOU!
Glad to help
Just did this job on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L Overland. I had a coolant leak on the plastic elbow of the heater hoses. Had to purchase the whole heater hose assembly at the dealership. There was no aftermarket part. Mopar part was $135.
This video was excellent step by step. This mechanic is very talented and clearly has put lots of time under a hood and he did an outstanding job with the video, lighting, editing, pointing out difficult steps etc. Very impressed top to bottom.
The most difficult step for me was getting the wiper arms off. I tried WD40, PB Blaster, prying them, tapping them for days, steam gunning them, tried 3 wiper arm pullers and none of them would fit because of the way the arm is beveled at the bottom. After literally about 5 hours of trying I used a heat gun right on the stem for about 5 minutes. I put a wet rag around the arm and I put some foil around the arm to protect the plastic. After 5 minutes of heat gun the wiper arm came off with some firm even pressure.
Excluding all the work it took to get the wiper arm off, the whole job for me took about 5 hours.
Thanks so much!
Sounds like those wiper arms were putting up a real fight! Glad you were able to outsmart them with the heat gun trick.
My Grand Cherokee has the same broken tube. Thanks for this. Hope the replacement part doesn’t have the same defect.

Best regards, Axtuo!!!!
is there any known upgrade to this system that doesn’t include a plastic outlet ? just blew on my 13 gc 6.4L after playing with for a while so i’m interested in preventing this from happening again
Hit the super thanks button
Thank you. I assumed I had to pull the whole damn dash as if doing heater core. Much easier-ish. I cut plastic 90 off with angle grinder and got 90 elbow, hose and clamps to limp along until part came in
Thanks for sharing
Tendras el mumero de parte de la pieza que cambiaste para poder buscarlo, muchas gracias
I think I showed it in the video.....otherwise just match
Good afternoon and I hope you're doing well may I please get the link where you bought the parts thank you
Get the part from the dealership.
Call them, give em your VIN #. And that's it.
Tell me about your experience.
Where you from?
Super thanks
I literally just need to plastic connector for my 2011. Anyone know where I can get that exact one? None of the stores around me have had the right one. I’m getting desperate here
☝️🤪
I gotta have this done on my 2011 grandcherokee what is the repair cost for the one you did just wondering what I'm in for.
Max 400 maybe less...check the part's price
Thanks seems fair looked like a hard fix.
Not that hard tho..pause
I would like to say thanks for the video I contacted the dealership they quoted me 5 hours which came up to $1,070😢 I ordered the part for $80 online and it took me 45 minutes to remove the old part now waiting on the new part to arrive to replace Monday the only tools needed was a 10 mm , 15 mm a long extension & long needle nose pliers and PITTSBURGH AUTOMOTIVEFuel Line and A/C Quick Disconnect Tool, 6 Piece $3.99 at Harbor Freight❤ THANKS AGAIN ❤👍😁
I'm super glad it helped you a lot.
U know how to Show your love!!!
Whats the link to this part? I just got a 2012 i have this same issue.
Compare the hoses
I have no Heaton my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. The heater hoses you replaced are hot but I get not hot airframe any vents on any settings. How do I know the problem is the heater hoses you replaced or the heater core?
Is the fan working???
@@AxtuoAx Yes - The fan is working. the coolant temp get to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit and both heater pipes at the firewall are hot so I believe the heater core is not clogged. The thermostat was replaced but no hot air blows from any vents on any settings with the heat on high.
Check into the blend door assemblies there's one on the driver side and one on the passenger side; mine was stuck blowing hot and never blew cold. Replaced both and got some cold air going, thankfully!
That’s the first time I ever seen someone hit a wiper arm with a hammer. Lmfao ha ha ha ha ha ha
I bet you did not know that one, kuh.
Now you know.
Super thanks
What is the part number for that hole assembly?
It's in the video dawg!!!!
Hit the thanks button
hey quick question a job like this how much does the labor cost?
500-1000
Thanks for the video. It's going to help me out a lot. I love how in the beginning, you're being all proper and by the end you we like F* this *mf. It's giving me a realistic expectation of the work I have ahead of me. There's nothing like buying a new used car because your old car isn't very reliable and then you end up driving the old car because the new one even less reliable. :/ My life. Thanks Again.
True! Facts! I feel you! Pause!
Do I need to do all this if I just want to flush my heater core?
Not really.....disconnect one of 2 heater hoses and connect it to you water hose so you can flush it good.
Do you have the part number for it?
Did you watch the entire video????

Where did you purchase the hose from
Watch the video
Did u drain the coolant
You could if you don't contaminate it
just got a quote from dealer to replace 800 dollars you save me a bundle
That's really good......
It's only right you click on that super thanks, it's right below the video, it look like a heart and it says thanks....do your thang, brother!!!!!
How much can you charge to do this job?
Good question
@@AxtuoAx ????
@@AxtuoAx I ask you the question because I went to a workshop and they told me they would charge 1,500 dollars They told me that work would be very difficult but seeing it here is not what they say
What’s the part number please?
Hit the thanks button!!!
Just slice the old hoses with razor blade aft you move the clamp much easier
Pay close attention
Why not just change the connector?
Good question!! Watch the video and you'll see why
Just did this...you should have used your hose pick on those two hoses you cut. I used a regular radiator hose pick on mine and they slid off easier than a magnum on a chinaman. I just dug the pick in at the very end of the hose and pulled. Before that, i poked a hole in the middle trying to pull it off. I don't know if that made it easier when I pulled it from the end of the hose.
Next time!!!!
I'm so glad you liked this video.
Do me a favor and DO NOT SEND ME MONEY.
I DO THIS SO YOU LEARN HOW TO DO IT AND SAVE MONEY.
thanks for watching!!!!
@@AxtuoAx Where should I not send you some money to? After I replace it I called the dealership just to see how much they charged to replace a heater hose in a 2014...They wanted $500 plus $100 for the part. I really do appreciate these videos.
Right below the video, there's a heart symbol that says "thanks", click on that, and there you can buy a super thanks (appreciation / tip) which directly supports Axtuo Ax channel. (This channel)
They just quoted me $1700 they said they have to take the dash out but I don’t see that here
$1700 to take out a dash? Are they sure they're not remodeling your entire car interior?
What if it's just the actual hose that's leaking not at either clamp just the hose itself? What's that part called just a hose? Lol
If you watch the video completely, you would see the damage. Hoses like these ones have angles and that very important for the right flow of fluids.
Part number is in the video.
Holla at yo boy
Hey man when your title is longer than the effing space provided I'm not gonna click on it.
