"Home is everything to me. The comfort of it, the safety and smells of it, are everything. I grew up in a home deeply impoverished. Food was scarce and with 8 mouths to feed it was a frenzy when we actually had food in the house. What we had was Jesus. We were taught to make a home in our hearts as children, for him to live in. In all of my childhood trauma that one valid reality was everything. I wanted the fireplace of my heart always burning for the Lord. As a traveling artist coming back to a warm home was what I created in my adulthood. A table for the broken to eat. Josh Baldwin and I sat and began to write this song years ago. The bridge and chorus were what we knew we would keep. I sang them for years in nights of worship. This past year I met with Jason Ingram. I brought Home to him and told him the value of it. Within moments he helped gather the verses. “I found a place I long to be, safe in your arms. I’m dropping my guard.” Home is where the heart of everything is centered. If the fire is burning, the Lord can show us how to keep wood on it. No matter where I go, He is there. Forever. Whether in poverty or plenty, I am thankful for both. The empty belly of my youth and the fullness of my spirit have enabled me to sing, even in the hardest of times. Home, is simple, quite everything."

Beautiful! I didn’t have much of a home when I was younger BUT GOD now at 51 he has created a home for me in Him and He within me. I am his and he is mine 1st, everywhere I go he is there. My family has become everything to me! Loving each other, providing for one another. Amen Rita, thank you! 🙏♥️

Hope someone can tell me the title of I think your song from 1990s.....Something about don't cry for me--- I'm dancing w the angels and sitting at the table. It's a great song of joy that the believer knows where she's going upon leaving this broken world. It's a rocking joy-filled song. Need this song, please help!
