- Welcome to my MCC Legendary Speedrun Guides! Today we're tackling "Sacred Icon" from Halo 2 Anniversary (Master Chief Collection).
My goal with this series is to help everyone complete every Halo game on Legendary difficulty using the latest speedrunning tips and tricks. If you have any questions or I forgot to explain something in the video, please ask in the comments and I'll do my best to answer!

Par Time: 15 minutes

This is how achievements our supposed to be! If everyone can have it what is the point? My favorite one is LASO..
The par time can be done on easy, so it's not nearly as bad.
@Tslav TV Yeah, but you don't have to hit all the par times for that. Some levels have crazy time saves, so going over par time on others is no big deal.
@Dｅmｏnｉtｅ on the pc at least you can get banners for your name for beating par times for each level on each difficulty. So technically there is a reward for beating the par time on L. Just a banner though.
List of all Flood forms:
Infection Form (the little popcorn/spore Flood)
Combat Form (Human/Elite/Brute)
Carrier Form (the Fatty/Daddy Popcorn Flood)
Pure Form (the spider Flood in Halo 3, can transform into a Ranged Pure Form or a Tank Pure Form)
Proto-Gravemind (the big ball of Flood that Captain Keyes was in it in Halo: Combat Evolved)
Gravemind (the leader of the Flood)
Key minds (planet sized graveminds)
Ranged pure or Tank Pure I'll go with a zerker pure.
What about the grunt and jackal forms from halo wars?
xsNachosx Yeah they r only present in Halo Wars. In the other Halo games they r just carrier forms.
Nachos, in halo lore the flood can't infect them as their anatomy is too week in certain structures such as weak bones ect.
This mission and 343 guilty spark terrified me as a kid.
That white elite has a name. Rtas 'Vadumee.

Is it just me or are the flood only levels the most boring?
Usually what make them boring are the similar rooms and corridors that offer little variety (the library being the worst offender) but that's most of halo level design so...

Also there are almost no vehicle sections in flood levels, I think that would break the mold of old levels. Quarantine Zone is great because you have a Ghost, and you can hijack a Warthog or Scorpion if you want. 343 Guilty Spark, The Library, Sacred Icon, High Charity, Floodgate, and Cortana are all Flood-only levels with no vehicles at all that you can use, which is why they aren't as good as they could be.
Nic McCartin Quarantine Zone is definitely my all-time favorite Flood level.

Always loved Flood levels. Atmospheric and grinding past Flood waves.
It annoys me that no matter how well you do in this level, there is like a 50% chance a handful of the flood in the last zone will just hop out of the holes and get stuck so you have to waste time scouring the area to find and kill them only to be ambushed immediately by the next wave of enemies once you kill the glitched and stuck ones.
+Guitarplaya668 Yep. Get to the end in like 8 minutes only to spend more than double that trying to flush fucking flood out of the holes because they get stuck. H2 is such a broken game.
Absolute legend. I just cut my Solo Legendary time down from 1 hour 40 minutes to 14 minutes on my first try using this guide.
6:11 You can bypass most if not all of the enemies in this section. Jump on top of the bridge by going to the right. You can make it to the second roof section with a crouch jump, then jump off of the roof to the left. It's a straight run to the cave. Then active camo past the dudes in the cave. No fighting at all if RNGeesus is kind to you and doesn't put anyone in your path.

Shame he dies in one of the novels, Thursday War if i'm not mistaken.
General Jimmies Rtas is still alive he was last seen near his home world.
Huh, could've sworn he died, I know the Arbiter lived but could have sworn Half-Jaw (arguably the most badass elite) kicked the bucket.
General Jimmies he never was killed in the games and he was confirmed to be alive back in November of last year Note he was not present in the Thursday war.

Wasn't there a part in the book where the Arbiter needed to escape and another elite donned his armor, but as a result that elite was killed. Mind you I don't have the book and you know how reliable wikipedia can be.
These have helped me immensely but the only issue I have is sometimes the enemies behind you (not always this mission) follow you. The covenant especially will try to track you down following you and I’ve gotten sandwiched to the point of having to simply skip the mission.
This would most likely be a level I dislike the most. One thing I can say I like about it would be the slide rides. I kinda think missions with defending or escorting would be the worst kind. I mean that would have to be something speed runners dislike.
I kind of remember doing this level while sick as fuck and I feel sickened each time I play it
6:11 - You can Sputnik across that gap for easy access to the cave, just go invis once you land in case they light you up.
Your speedruns are great, they make halo 2 legendary a lot less nightmare-ish :)
I desperately want to try something like this on the PC version; the extra precision and turning speed of mouse movement could unlock all sorts of interesting possibilities. I had a physical copy years ago, and now that they've become so hard to come by I regret giving it to a friend.

You say that the area at 8:00 mins is gltichy in MCC. However I got the same glitch you mentioned on halo 2 classic on og xbox.
The visuals are glitchy. For example, sometimes sentinel beams tracers refuse to render in Anniversary. So you don't know what is shooting you, Flood or Sentinel.
Absolutely hate that ending part I got there at just under 12 and finished on 15:07...
Im so happy i watched this guide, as well as having rngesus on my side, got 10:58 and am happy, these flood rng levels r stupid

My game glitched here, I was standing around for 2 minutes doing nothing, so I grenade jumped on top of the map to fight the last wave before the phantom, so awesome

That last section is so glitchy. The flood will sometimes spawn and not move at all, so you have to go hunt them down. It's not hard, but it eats up your time.

At 3:26 you could have grenade jumped out of the window/door into the one directly across the gap. (At least with sputnik skull, not too sure if you can without it). You should give it a try, it would cut your run by like 20 seconds.

I found that once you get all the elite helpers, giving every single one a sword makes the end section a total joke, they become an elite (smirk) murder squad.
If the Elite helpers actually show up. Sometimes they won't pop in.

Naked, in your opinion, are LASO runs easier solo or when you have a (competent) buddy helping you, since dieing with Iron Skull on co-op restarts you back at last checkpoint instead of the whole mission?
This is the type of level that beginner speed runners do first but I absolutely hate speed running this level the ending where you fight the waves of floss with your elite buddies is sooooo unpredictable and sometimes the spawns don’t act how they are supposed to it sucks it can turn a 5-6 minute run into a 14-15 minute run
After the rage of trying to double-stick that enforce after the ride and still make it to the door m, I finally get to the end only for a Flood to push the STILL-ALIVE ultra elite into a pit...
Fuck me sideways, I give up. I need someone to come to my house and speedrun for me.

i had a glitch. right as i went up that floating bunker i jumped down grabbed a BR and went back to the floating bunker and when i went up it completed the mission

The section where he wasnt suspossed to fire i judt barely made it out on my playthrough i didnt alert them but i ran out of camo and one flood combat form with shot gun stared at me like HI THERE and let me pass
This is getting ridiculous now. On THREE missions now it hasnt recorded my time. I have taken pictures of my time on the carnage report so i can complain to 343 as i am NOT replaying these again

Hey guys, I need some help. I just got my Xbox One and I wanted to play multiplayer on Halo Masterchef's Collection. I already signed in to my Xbox 360 account and I got my internet working. When I press on Multiplayer, it says *The Multiplayer feature is blocked due to your Xbox Live settings. Please make sure you have the correct Xbox Live account and your family settings are turned off.*

Phas anyone else had this issue where you finish halo 1-2 on legendary the games says you've done it but the achievements won't pop or track your progress and say that you haven't done it at all? Is there any fix because I don't really feel like playing halo 1 on legendary again
That happened to me on halo 1 all I did was play the last mission again and I got it hope this hepled
Yeah I had that but I clicked on the achievement in the game and it took me to the mission I needed to play again. Idk why it does that but I'm glad it was the first one because it is easy

Wtf is with enemies not spawning in that last place? I was there at 8.00 and they just wouldnt spawn. So fucking frustrating.

ah I can get 15 minutes on easy lol. 24 on legendary. the flood have been my biggest problem
How is there 301 views when there is only 100 people in the world?
I gave arbiters friend a rocket launcher and took his sword, he was litterally blowing up flood in pairs as they were jumping out of holes and climbing off the walls. It was super quick, he was rocket launchering everything the second it spawned

I'm stuck on the ghost section on delta halo :(
I had the same problem. Just destroy one or two ghosts with your rocket and then clear the whole area by destroying the remaining ghosts and turrets with your ghost plasma cannons. Obviously it takes some time (like 6 minutes) but at least you can move on.
Edit: err I didn't notice this was posted two weeks ago so I guess you already passed it e.e
that one is really difficult i had to try 20 (or more!) times to get it.
Tried so much that the game ended up giving me a checkpoint half way through the ruins past the turret with the optimal spawn of no ghosts.... I feel sad cause it got to such a case of the game helping me out....
I found a huge skip in this level that will allow you to basically skip the entire end sequence and probably cut 3-4 mins off this, HMU on live for details if your interested. GT. Its me ur hero

I noticed that you can watch the video in 60fps. Can you record the gameplay with 60fps with the xbone's own game recorder?
Nope XB1 only records in 30fps IIRC. It only broadcasts to twitch in 30fps too.
How the video is 60 then? Because I'd like to know how to record in 60fps :D
CZcams probably just upscales it to 60fps maybe? I'm fairly certain XB1 broadcasts to twitch in 720p/30fps and I seem to recall Nak3d Eli saying that he uses his twitch archive footage to make these videos (you can even see the current viewers on his stream at the bottom of the screen because of the XB1 interface). So if the option is there to watch in 60fps I don't think you're seeing true 60. The campaign does run in 60fps though (at least single player anyway).

UnarmoredDragon really late reply but there's a glitch on this mission. in one of the long tunnels if you drop down without touching the beam across the hole you'll be invincible for the rest of the mission. the platform/beam across acts as a flag for the game that lets it know the invinciblity is to be turned off because you won't die from fall dmg etc
