The censorship and shaming I've seen online often enough. On social media, I just use the block button generously and often pre-emptively. I just don't have the time nor energy for that kind of stuff. "Ick factor" is definitely useful in filtering.
Critical thinking and evaluating sources are an important skill in the witch/magic/pagan community. For me, a librarian skill that serves me well in my small practice. (Having said that, someone has "critical thinker" in their bio, odds are they are not).
I hear ya on the having a family and responsibilities. Same, I do not overextend and work within a budget in the Bad Economy. Overall, I am fairly immune to FOMO. May be being a bit older too.

As a librarian I’m sure you know all about looking at multiple sources and critical thinking. I’m like you too in that I mostly block those who would seem to shame or try to troll. Thanks as always for sharing your thoughts!
