One detail I love about homelander is his laziness. He has super strength and speed but he often just uses his laser eyes to solve things because it’s quick and easy, but it nearly always ends up causing him more problems than if he had just dealt with it properly. Sort of an allegory for how coddled people will cause long term problems with short term laziness. If you watch through the show nearly every time he uses his laser eyes it causes an issue later.
It’s also the only power that currently only he possesses

Not only that, in general I see Homelander is chidlish. Like his relationship with Madeline.. it's like mom and her baby. Thats really show us how he didnt have parent figure in his child and craving for it in season 1
Holy shit, I was wondering why he only uses his laser eyes. I felt like if he’s supposed to be Superman’s equivalent, he should have way more abilities. Now I understand why he almost always uses his laser eyes. It makes sense both from a character standpoint and a narrative standpoint.
Black noir is best character his dialogue is Oscar worthy
