Hibernian secured their place in the William Hill Scottish Cup final in remarkable circumstances at Hampden Park. Leigh Griffiths's majestic matchwinner deep into extra time completed one of the most astonishing comebacks ever witnessed at the national stadium and ensured Hibernian would reach successive cup finals for the first time in 89 years.
Yet it had all looked so very different when Falkirk raced into a three-goal lead within the opening half hour, courtesy of Craig Sibbald, Jay Fulton and Blair Alston. Hibernian, though, recovered in rousing fashion, with Alex Harris, Griffiths and Eoin Doyle taking the match into extra time, and to a new dimension in cup entertainment.

The Scottish Cup trophy is the oldest national trophy in the world. First held in 1873-74 it was first won by Queen's Park. Celtic currently hold the title having defeated Hibernian 3-0 in the 2013 Scottish Cup final.

All these Semi and Final matches in Scotland are always very entertaining.
Still very possibly my favourite game of football ever. Remember joking to my mate's little brother, 3-0 down at half time; 'ack.It'll be fine. We just need to do a Liverpool in 2006.' Didn't think we'd actually do it.
Had a pound on 3-3 at 66/1 as an outside bet, couldn't believe it actually came up. Thanks you Hibs. My Dad is a Falkirk supporter and was absolutely gutted I couldn't help but laugh.

One of the most astonishing games I have ever attended...Falkirk were superb in the first half, but what a comeback from Hibs in the second. Hibs lost the final again, but that was more about the team we were playing than anything else.
It seems you can't go on a SPL vid without some sanctimonious Englishman putting down the game up here for no other reason than to boost their egos. Don't recall ever seeing scots trolling poorer quality leagues, so i'm not sure why you lot feel the need to do it all the time.
At least you knowledge his point that it’s a poorer league. Much poorer.

My 8 year old asked at half time why were Hubs such a frustrating team. At full time I told him to remember this game as he would never experience emotions like it again for some time. I have seen extreme highs and even more extreme lows but that result shows no matter how bad someone wants a win, if you want it more you can succeed.

That Hibs defence was woeful
It was a great game. We shoulda won that game, going up by 3 in the first 30 mins. Hibs just didn't turn up. Second half started, and our team didn't turn up. The hibs winning goal was a screamer

I really don't see what's so horrible about it, we're a country with a smaller population than London ffs, instead of comparing it to England compare the attendances and success in europe to similar sized countries like Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium etc.

message to Neil Rae if tour team go 3 down at hampden you can't bare it... sitting on your seat so you go to the toilet or snack bar..anyone who knows hampden knows this is up the steps. This is called a "Hibees exit" where a football fan needs to leave his seat due to adverse circumstances on the field of play only to gather there thoughts and return to their seat to view there team be victorious.. "hibees exit" you read it here first!
