- An immortal's lament for his mortal lover . . .

Lyrics:
Eternity’s a gift, they say
To never cross the veil
This life I try to savor
And I try to no avail
Curse that mortal brevity
Which has rent you from my arms
Curse this cold eternity
Without you to keep me warm
Your never-ending elegy
Is a ballad with no melody
As empty as I, now you’ve passed me by
A blessing? No, a malady
Why do roses bloom in spring
Only to wither and die?
You were all that was good in me
Now back to darkness go I
Take with you my sanity
Better madness than the pain of my want
All my effort is vanity
And I hear the raven’s taunt
Your never-ending elegy
Is a ballad with no melody
As empty as I, now you’ve passed me by
A blessing? No, a malady
My eternal malady

This is perfect for the bard I play. Elf royalty who fell in love with a mortal woman. After she passed away from sickness he lost himself, in grief and madness. While he doesn’t want to die, he doesn’t see a reason to be alive. So he decided to embark on one last great adventure before he made his departure. This songs sounds exactly like something he would perform, and incredible in your voice. Thank you for all the amazing work you do.
With elves it's always royalty...
This is probably a weird compliment but if I had the powers of Ursula from the Little Mermaid I would love to steal your voice in a seashell. I absolutely love your music and I wish you so much joy, success, and inspiration in your future!
I can relate! All the covers he's done are so good too, especially hellfire.
Yes, it may be a weird compliment, but I think it’s also one of the most beautiful compliments to give to a singer
Before I knew I was trans I wanted to sound like him. I think I did it pretty well too!
@@user-zd7we1zv5i love this for you!!
a great way to show the curse of immortality
Gonna make my bard sing this to the party as an apology for singing Karma last session
So pretty, yet sad - melancholic melodies somehow draw me in
Fantastic song, thank you
I've been listening to this on CZcams music for days. It's so beautiful. You're one of my favorite musicians in the world.
Have a wonderful day.
So adding this to one of my character playlists 😭
oh this one... i just want to wander with it
Not only is your voice wonderful, but you're quite handsome as well. Perfect for a bard huehue!
Cheers from Brazil, i hope me sharing basically all your songs has actually helped in the algorithm, cus you actually try to bring real quality to us. Wish i could help more (like Patreon)
You have such a beautiful voice.
I lost my mother last year & this song hit me hard.
Amazing voice.
wow, just when i was searching for some songs to play when my D&D bard sings (as me myself can't sing for shit), i stumble upon this masterpiece. this fits the theme of my character perfectly
To count the times I’ve already listened to this song would be embarrassing, so let’s just say I like it a lot. The feels, the vibes, I can’t express it but I love it.
On a technical level, I really enjoy how the melody switches its emphasis between a 6/8 and 3/4 pattern. Just tickles my brain in a great way.
What a beautiful song, and voice... Really moving 🥺
I feel so compelled to tell you that I've been listening to your music since the Mighty Nein era and I'm so glad you're moving into making your own music and it's just as moving. Your lyrics and voice are just so soothing and beautiful and it's deeply inspiring. I hope you keep making your own music, forever and always.
I know this song is about lovers
But I just lost my dog yesterday and the lyrics hit hard cause they live for such a short time compared to us
About the same percentage as a human to an elf, in fact. While the exact expected lifespan of a dog varies depending on breed, we tend to count 'dog years' as seven times their age in 'regular years' to help us wrap our heads around the idea that a ten-year-old dog starts behaving like it's an old lady ("Well she's seventy in dog years you kow"). Similarly, humans may live up to a century if they're lucky, while elves - in D&D - may get to 750. About seven times the human lifespan.
YESSS I've been waiting for this since the short and omg it's perfect also funnily enough fits my newest dnd character perfectly
give me a week and i alone will be responsible for 1000+ views bc ive been OBSESSED. cannot wait to hear more of your music!!!!!
This is absolutely beautiful, I love everything about this.
Oh my goodness how did I miss this absolutely loved the short and was hoping for a full version ^-^
As someone who primarily plays Elves, this song hit hard.
One of my more recent characters was an elf who fell in love with a human man... This was a very real conversation they had when starting as a couple. Since then, he's learned the clone spell because he doesn't want to leave her... and she cherishes each moment with him because she knows how fragile it all is
This is my absolute favorite song at the moment! Its so sad, but beautiful in its bittersweetness
Can we get a tour of the new room at some point? I'd love to see the rest of it!
Everytime I see your videos come up I get so excited. They're spread out and SO amazing every single time. Truly lovely singing and music
i absolutely love this song! if only there were some chords i can find so i could play it as my d&d character.
This is so beautiful, incredibly well done!

What did the bard say to the woman before entering the tavern?
After you, malady.
What are the chords? I'd love to learn this song! Cheers =)
