It always brings me so much joy to see how passionate the All Ears team is about things. You know they're just enjoying themselves when they get to experience the things that bring them joy. I could feel Molly's excitement to be there through the whole video, and seeing how much she loves this place makes me want to try it

My absolute favorite restaurant on property. The first time I went was with my mom about 16 years ago and I remember getting the steak and mac & cheese and it is by far the best thing I have ever eaten. I make sure to go whenever I come back to Disney because not only was that such an amazing meal, but it reminds me of the time I went with my mom the first time and it's just such a special memory for me. It was the only time I got to go to Disney just her and I and I was actually an adult so it was really like to best friends going and that will stick with me for the rest of my life. I'm so so so glad that this restaurant is back in time for our vacation next week so that I can go there again and relive that special memory.

Love that this is reopened! This is our favorite restaurant on Disney property too, and we've been to many of the greats (California Grill, Victoria & Albert's, Citricos, Narcoossee's, Yachtsman, Artist Point, Il Mulino, Boathouse, etc) - but Jiko stands out as such original food and delicious flavors we've never experienced anywhere else. Can't wait to go back when we go again in the fall. And those South African wines, to die for! I LOVE how much you love this too!!
Thank you Molly for your passion and excellent review on restaurants. I appreciate your honesty as well because for us, Disney will be a very big splurge and I want to know the best places to try. My kids all look forward to visiting Disney and trying things the “Molly Way” and hopefully, running into you there! Just legit paused this the other day to book this for Easter dinner. We are in works of trying all restaurants once since 2018 and very excited for a nice And unique meal on my fave holiday. We eat a special meal in WDW on holidays we are THAT couple and dress up for Easter and coordinate I look to that every year
We are from Cape Town, South Africa, and so awesome to watch this and see the lounge is named after our home town and that there are so many wines from our area too! So exciting! We are coming to visit Disney world in April and I cannot wait!

I love listening to you describe the good! My husband and I are definitley foodies and food adventures! We typically get the deluxe dining Olav so that we can do these types of experiences! Typically we have just two meals, one late morning and then a 2 meal dinner.

You are an more adventurous eater than I am Molly, but like you, I get emotional (or very happy) on a really good meal! This restaurant is definitely on my bucket list, primarily the filet!
Could NOT agree more, Molly! It’s seriously the best restaurant on property! We went on the 18th and it was amazing! We went for the first time in 2017 on our honeymoon trip. It was the first restaurant we ate at together at Disney! It was like a nice homecoming.

My goodness, you are passionate about your food. We are going to WDW for three weeks beginning the third week of February 2023. We will be staying in three deluxe hotels without going into the parks. This is going to be a relaxing vacation. We have stayed at all the deluxe hotels except AKL, and we will spend a week there on this trip. We have not eaten at AKL either, but that will change in a few months. I have seen many review vlogs of Jiko, but none quite like yours. You are amazing, and if anyone had any doubts about going to Jiko, you have disabused them of that notion. Again, thank you for such good content.

Thank you for ordering almost everything. It is on our list for May when we will stay at Jambo House. In the past, I have been too cheap to eat here and went to Boma and Sanaa instead. We will be at AKL for 5 nights and we may have dinner here 2-3 times. So many restaurant and so few dinners.
Staying at AKL for a night in April and just scored a dinner reso at Jiko!!! Woooo so excited

Jiko is hands down our favorite dining experience at Disney. The chefs bar or the little intimate room off the main area are the best! Fabulous SA wines and the entrees are to die for…

I recommend the beetroot desert. I had it before the shutdown and it looks like it hasn't changed much. It's so good, the best desert I had on that trip, which is not at all what I was expecting when I read beetroot.
so as the prices popped up on the screen i added them together $260 for all that food! and why are we paying $62 per person at be our guest? i will definitely be headed to jiko this summer during my vacation!
Great review! The food looked delicious. (As much as I love Oxtails, it didn’t look appetizing here. Everything else looked amazing though.) I’ll have to try Jiko out on my next trip.
What do I want to see you review … something that hopefully will be open by June 1st … V&A’s. I have a tripped planned for the beginning of June and would love to take my better half. Watching your reviews is like watching her commentary on meals we enjoy together. I will have an excellent preview of her response if 1) it can open in time and 2) if you can sneak in for a review before we make our trip.

ICYDK, Oxtail is beef, specifically its the meat around the vertebrae. The bone adds so much flavor to the meat when cooked correctly. So if you ever see oxtail stew on a menu, give a try. Its actually beef stew but with a tastier piece of meat.
Its why Molly’s reaction was pure bliss.
This place looks so good! Seriously considering going during our upcoming trip. Can you please do a review of Sanaa? I have heard so much about the bread service, but would like to get a better idea of the restaurant overall!

As a wine nerd may I point out that pinotage as a grape is less than 100 years old and is a cross between pinot noir and cinsault. When it is good it is a thing of true beauty.

I would love to see a video about dining solo. I sometimes go to WDW on a solo trip and would love to try some of these amazing restaurants, but also hate to take a whole table for one. Is there bar seating or other options at table service spots for a party of one that you would recommend across all the parks?

Good plan on the scallops 😬I love asking the server when I go to a restaurant for the first time what they like the best and usually I order their recommendations. After our Be Our Guest experience I was ready to give that practice and ever eating scallops again. 🤦🏼♀️ #1 we will probably not go back to Be Our Guest until they bring back Breakfast or Lunch quick service. Also, don’t order they scallops there. 😢 day for me and seafood. 🤷🏼♀️ whatcha gonna do, order the steak my friends don’t get the scallops. All I can guess is our server like rubbery over cooked food. Get the steak. The look of the Jiko scallops puts this restaurant on our must try next time we are at WDW, thanks again Molly. Hope it was magical.
Back in 2018 I had a Seafood Curry at Jiko that was maybe the best thing I've ever eaten at Walt Disney World. It looks like they aren't carrying it anymore? Or was that the seafood dish at the bottom?

Home!!!!! (Our DVC home resort!) And Yes... Jiko is hands down the best restaurant without a view. I love California Grill, but the view is the reason. Jiko doesn't have a view, which I think is a missed opportunity, since the savannahs are 100 feet outside the windows, but out of view.

The oxtail was dry and tasted like boeuf bourguignon from France Pavilion. You can tell it was reheated in an oven. The lamb shank needed more seasoning/salt, and did not taste gamey. The giraffe bread was good with a crisp crust and fluffy inside, but Boudin sourdough in CA has better flavor.

Your "experts" are 100% correct. I've had technically better meals, I've had more adept service ... but nothing says "Disney Vacation" more than a night out at Jiko. One of a kind. The wine list, the ambiance, the feel of it all ... just totally works.

This looks SO good.. but I am one of those weirdos who likes basic and tasty food. Give me an amazing burger and perfect fries! Give me tasty crispy chicken strips or fresh steak fajitas. I wonder what would be a good place for that?

Certainly wasn’t our experience. A late reservation-the staff just couldn’t be bothered. Got seated in the worst table even though the restaurant was basically empty-next to the kitchen but not at the chef counter. Got to hear the staff bicker with each other. At one point a server dropped a fork and kicked it all the way back into the kitchen. The wild boar was fantastic. But the short-rib was just meh. Tasted like a nice piece of meat drowned in grocery store bbq sauce then smothered with raw carrots. Was really sad. We’d been really looking forward to this experience and it pretty much was the worst meal of the trip.
I cried just a little bit when I heard this restaurant was finally reopening! It is definitely my favorite place to eat at WDW!

I am probably one of the few people who was not impressed when I ate there. Background: my family has been in the restaurant business my entire life. My grandmother owned one of those southern meat two veggies salad dessert and drink restaurants back in the day. I have 3 brother's who are chefs, one of whom owned his own restaurant. Another brother has been managing from mid to high level restaurants for at least 40 years. So I know the business and the ins and outs and I love different foods. I lived in the middle east for 3 years so I have a very adventurous palate and I love wine. So, my son and I ate there well before the close. First, our server was just so so. He wasn't horrible but I've had better at Red Lobster. I ordered a wine flight. The choice was white or red and since I was getting the lamb I went with red (I prefer the chef actually pick one but that wasn't an option). Turns out that two of the wines were the exact same wine. Not even a different variety, the exact. same. wine. Hello, wine flight. Had my server told me that, I would have just ordered a glass of wine. The food was o.k. nothing to write home about, not bad but not great. My son got the steak, I got the lamb. I did like the cup of coffee I got in the end. All in all, for the price we paid, I would have expected better. Could the server have been having a bad night? Certainly. Could the chef(s) have been not having their best night? Certainly. For that price is that acceptable? No. To top it all off, we actually had to wait for our check and then wait more after we paid. The #1 rule in restaurants is not to make your guests wait for something to drink and to pay. Will I go back. Most likely because I believe in giving every place a second shot but there are other places I haven't tried yet so it's low on my list. By the way, we did the Safari they used to have for guests where you got the safari and then a family style meal which was in Jiko and the food and service were excellent so I know they are capable.
