I am not very enthusiastic about BJP's prospects in TN but the effort put in by Modi is commendable. It gives you a peek into personality of Modi. Even though Karnataka was a lost cause (most opinions polls had already predicted a INC win), Modi led from the front. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi practically "bombed" his own Gujarat state unit. He also abandoned Amethi. Rahul Gandhi is just not cut out for competitive politics.

The biggest achievement for BJP would be to win more seats/votes than ADMK, esspecially after ADMK have declared their soft support for DMK.
More seats than ADMK can be possible but surely not the vote percentage. I can surely tell u that ADMK and BJP (as a single party) will atleast have 10% vote difference in this election and their alliances vote difference will be atleast 8%.
This is similar to 2014 scenario where NDA got 2 seats and DMK didn't get a seat. But DMK alliance vote share was around 27% but the NDA alliance vote share was 18.58%.
This time my guess is as of now NDA alliance vote share will be 21%, ADMK alliance vote share - 29%, DMK alliance vote share - 42%, NTK - 8%

Christian missionaries have really woken up the space for BJP in TN and AP. BJP needs to crack the "caste" code to make headway in South India. The caste rigidity is next level here. BJP has a long way to go in TN and AP would likely be the last state to fall to BJP. A Hindu party's rise would hopeful help South India get rid of "Casteism".

For people who are not affiliated to political parties, Annamalai gives hope. He has caught the imagination of the people who yearn for an alternative to the despicable Dravidian parties.The Dravidian parties created a strong network of chieftains in local areas on Dynasty basis and sustaining the network with a spoil system whereby by blantant corrupt means they are given money making contracts. That explains their relentless opposition to a relatively fair system of NEET which otherwise would have remained a hopeless system of sale of medical seats. DMK is has thus developed a well entrenched political system whose ethos has pervaded all other political parties. The only leader who succeeded in shaking their ethos was MGR. but he too could not keep his party away from that culture completely. Jayalalithaa proved herself a formidable opponent of Karunnidhi, her opposition was only at personal level. Her government was equally corrupt. She could not alter the system createf by Karunanidhi because of Sashikala factor. Now, comes Annamalai with much idealism. He may win elections. His party in TN may emerge as a formidable party. Whether he will being about a clean politics in TN and succeed in removing the ill effects of Dravidian party's culture is a million dollar question. My prayer is that he should not end up being an Abhimanyu in the sordid TN politics.
