    MENDING WALL : BRIEF SUMMARY
'Mending Wall' is a world famous poem written by the American poet Robert Frost. In the poem the speaker tells about a 'wall building' work done by himself and his neighbour. The neighbour supports building of walls by saying that 'good fences make good neighbours' but the poet is against walls in principle. But he also involves in repairing the Wall. The poet says that the nature itself is against the idea of building walls.
The wall symbolically is about the growing separation among people in the modern world. There are walls of cast colour and religion seen everywhere now. The existing discrimination is the result of this injustice.
There are instances of poetic devices like metaphor, simile, assonance, exaggeration etc. in the poem. So the poem is highly significant in the modern world.
