    Hi Chef Zee! I love moro de guandules and I love that you’ve made an instapot version 😍 For the rice in this recipe, is it washed/rinsed? It looked pretty dry going in, I’m Team Wash your rice lmao 🤣 but would it make it too mushy if I did that for this recipe?

    First off, I have to say I love your channel. Me being Peruvian married to a Dominican, it’s nice to give him some meals that he grew up eating. Now, I have two questions. 1- if I want to double the recipe, do I use the same time on the Instapot? 2- when measuring the rice and water, do you use the same measuring cup? And if so, is it the dry or the wet measuring cup?

      My goal is show people traditional and modern ways of making Dominican recipes so you’ll definitely see tweaks here and there. I’d also like to note that different households cook differently and no two cooks will ever cook the same. I try to highlight all of the main ingredients that will give it that classic Dominican flavor. Lastly, I’m half Cuban 🇨🇺 and that also influences my cooking 🥰

    I’m not sure why, but when I made it, my Instant Pot went into the “burn” setting. It seems there wasn’t enough water in the pot. I used the measurements you described so I’m wondering where I went wrong Chef Zee. Any recommendations?

    • @emmanuelgomez7805
      @emmanuelgomez7805 Před 2 lety +1

      I made the dish again and again my instant pot went into the “burn setting”. I noticed that when you closed the lid on your dish, you had a lot more water in the pot than I did. Your dish seemed to have more water laying on top like whereas mine had a drier consistency to everything. Are the portions you listed correct?

    • @ElleBeeFilms
      @ElleBeeFilms Před 2 lety +1

      @@emmanuelgomez7805 Same thing happened to me on two separate attempts. I also used the same 1:1 water ratio but still got the burn setting. I left the instant pot alone and once it cooled off a bit it started again then when into burn setting again on both attempts. however, when I opened the lid the rice was done perfectly both times. The only fix I found is to use the rice button (I have the IP-DUO which has a rice button in the top right.) That function cooks the rice on low pressure for 12 min. I've used it 2x and it goes through the entire function, no burn setting, and no stress! Moro turns out perfectly!!!

      Si sofries debes raspar el fondo de la olla antes de continuar cocinando.
      También me ha pasado cuando hago arroz que he remojado. Entonces lo que hago es que limpio el arroz, lo remojo como una hora o dos, y cuando cierro la olla le doy unos cuatro minutos, pero me quedo cerca y tan pronto dice Burn le quito la presión, la desconecto y la destapo. Muevo el arroz y saco el inner pot para que no diga cocinando. Así que el arroz de hace en uno o dos minutos cuando lo he remojado. Siempre que salga el Burn hay que quitarle presión y abrir la olla, ya sea para mover y raspar el fondo o sea porque en sí ya está listo.

      I’m not sure about making it in the slow cooker. You might end up with a soup like rice since it doesn’t get too hot or build up that pressure. Slow cookers are known for drawing out moisture in the foods that you make in them which is why it’s great for dishes like soups and stews
