To be fair had she captured them then chances are they would have escaped and cause an annoyance for Kronika until the rest arrived to the Keep
Shao Kahn and Shinnok were meant to be menaces, but Kronika is more antagonistic than both. She planned things out, shows her charisma, and she manage to succeed in rewinding time. If it weren’t for Kronika, Liu Kang would not be Fire God and make his own timeline.

If she planned it out she would have just kept freezing time and killing threats, then she wouldn’t need revenants to defend the keep. She also could have just got the timeline right any of the other hundreds of times she tried
i always wondered why kronika needed to bring back characters from the past in the first place. she said she needed allies against raiden, so she decided to bring back characters from the past.. including past raiden and liu kang (who were both still good btw) who are the only two who can stop her.
so she brought back past warriors (shao kahn and co.) to protect her from other past warriors (raiden and co.)? why did she bring them back in the first place? since liu kang and raiden were already enemies, and there wasn’t any threat to her in the current timeline so why didn’t she just go to the island, get her crown, and restart history without pulling anyone from the past? everyone in the present is currently in chaos, so she could just restart history without as much interference. she just completely sabotaged herself.
If she just stayed and just enlisted the revs, Noob, D'vorrah, Geras, and Cetrion. She wouldn't attract too much attention to Raiden himself. Until Cetrion killed the other Elder Gods.
Hell, she can just stop time and assasinate any of the good guys and resume the work later. The only major threats other than Raiden are Shang Tsung and Fujin but they're banished to the Shadow Realm so... Yeah plot convenience

The way time works in this game doesn’t make much sense. If both Liu Kang and Kung Lao are revenants in the future then killing their past selves won’t have much of an effect because they’re already dead.
Except they became Revenants because of Quan Chi's deal with Shao Kahn, if they die before that pact is made, they cannot become Revenants.
So if you can forge timelines, teleport, stop time on command, and you still struggle. I think she playing this reset on "Bring me Doom" difficulty 😅

She's not trying to bring happiness, she's trying to bring some vague 'balance' to the realms that is never explored. She also doesn't give a shit about Shinnok or Cetrion as she happily makes Cetrion sacrifice herself just to give her an edge against Liu-Kang and doesn't even try to stop Raiden from decapitating Shinnok even though she could have at any point.
Hell, she lets the Revenants use his severed head as a power source instead of finding some way to heal him. Don't make up a head canon to try to make Kronika a compelling character, she's a poorly written character who only loses because she was stupid enough to reveal herself when she didn't need to and give the heroes every opportunity to stop her.

Geras: Er....not really, we don't need anyone for that.

Geras: There are only a select few beings in the realms that can move when you freeze time, yourself, me, Cetrion who is on your side, Fujin who you have imprisoned, the Elder Gods Cetrion has killed and Raiden who alone would be outnumbered by us.

Shitty writing. Raiden always fucks up her timelines, apparently he fucks up her timelines so many times that she's lost count and yet never once just erased him. And she says that she can erase him as that was one of her goals for her next new era. So she could have eliminated Raiden at any point, literally any point and never ever have to deal with him every again and always win but she keeps him around because....?
And for some reason, in the countless times he's fucked up her plan, for some reason this one time is the last straw so now she will erase him. She's a complete idiot, there is literally no reason why she should lose if she was actually smart...so she has to be a complete idiot just so the plot can happen. Saying she is arrogant or insane or whatever is just excusing poor writing, the people who are saying these things are doing more work than Netherrealm did just to pass off this shitty story and I don't know why.

What I don’t get is that since everyone from the past was pretty much brought into the future which technically caused to change their fates in MK9 and knowing everything that happened. So doing would’ve reverted all the Revenants back to humans, I’m only saying this because of when Shao Kahn caused Revenant Liu Kang’s legs to be broken.

Kronika had potential as a villain, but she was extremely dumb. She did basically nothing except get her ass kicked, while her lackeys did everything for her. She had multiple opportunities to succeed and destroy her enemies, but chose not to. I understand the heroes need a fighting chance, but I think with some better writing, they could've explained why she can't interfere and significantly improved Kronika's character.

Why would their Revenant versions cease to exist when Revenants are basically zombies resurrected from someone that's died already...? Is it because they NEED to be created after they die? And if that's the case then why didn't Kronika also bring back Quan Chi to resurrect them for her? You know? Why wasn’t kronica playable??
When a final boss character becomes playable, they're completely nerfed to avoid one-sided matches. This is typically bad for boss characters who become playable where a cognitive dissonance happens (i.e. "he's strong enough to flick you into dust" vs "a mortal man can be able to kill 25% of my health with one kick").
Plus, thinking of tournament modes (I know competitive players are a minority, but I'm accounting for them for this example), there is already an MK11 character who some moves that are banned in tournament play, and that is Kronika's henchman, Geras, who himself has time abilities. One special ability Geras has is messing with the round timer itself, which is disadvantageous play.
Most of Kronika's special abilities are completely time related, so she wouldn't have much to use for competitive play.

He can teleport, so maybe he lived. He can also teleport without his hat as seen in the recent mobile games cutscenes

Wait, but isn't the whole point of them being revenants that they died already? Like if their past selves die shouldn't that just mean their futures as revenants are certain.
Not unless they have someone turn them back into Revenants. They didn't become Revenants naturally, Quan-Chi made them into Revenants when he acquired their souls. Unless they turn them into Revenants after killing them, their future versions would cease to exist because their past versions never became the Revenants they now are.
Not that it matters because Kronika doesn't need Liu-Kang alive...in fact, killing Liu-Kang guarantees she wins but she's too stupid to do that.

No, the Revenants exist because of Quan-Chi. The issue is that if Kronika kills past Liu-Kang, it'd erase his future self (Revenant Liu-Kang) because the chain of events that caused Revenant Liu-Kang to exist would not happen, a time paradox basically.
However...Kronika is an absolute moron, she literally doesn't need Revenant Liu-Kang or really anyone to defend the Hourglass. She could just freeze time and have Geras and Cetrion slaughter Raiden and win with no difficulty. There is no reason at all why she shouldn't kill Liu-Kang right here, but if she did...the plot wouldn't happen.
The entire plot of MK11 only happens because Kronika is a brain dead moron who ruins her own plan.

It's moreso that if the past version dies where they should not, or were not, before the Revenants were made, it undoes the future versions entirely. All those events between A and B don't happen. Plus Quan Chi is dead too, so he can't make them Revenants again.
@@matthewcoster5535 Can’t she just rewind quan chi back? I know he isnt in the game but it should make sense for him to come back since right before the time merger, kung lao had just defeated the deadly alliance without killing them. So did shang tsung and quan chi just despawned right after that?
@@sageanimations2463 She broke time and pulled forward allies she could use. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are very difficult to use as pawns. Even then she did pull Shang Tsung through in the DLC and promptly locked him away. She also brought through past versions of the Revenants to keep them stable in the broken timeline, and Johnny and Sonya just came along for the ride I suppose. Either way Quan Chi wasn't pulled from the past and since present Quan Chi is dead...

She didnt break time but more so stop it from ever happening, raiden mk9 stopped having his visions when the merge happened. So if she only pulled allies she could use to protect the keep, why add johnny, sonya, jax, liu kang, kung lao WHEN SHE KNOWS that liu kang would be an issue since she failed to create her perfect timeline for probably a million attempts just to get it right, by then she should’ve just killed liu kang before he could ever stop her BUT SHE DIDN’T. Liu kang was the only one who was able to stop her, why go through all the trouble of getting an army just for liu kang to destroy it in an instant.
@@sageanimations2463 That's the thing, it's the combined power of Liu Kang and Raiden that threatens her plans, not either of them individually. It's why in every timeline she had Liu Kang and Raiden fight with the result being Liu Kang's death and the removal of the threat. However in this instance time was broken and messed up already, Raiden's visions from Ragnarok back to his past self altering things heavily. The others being brought through was likely a side effect, something Kronika could not completely control. She can act subtly, or in grand gestures but I don't think he control without a charged Crown is so great she can pick and choose exactly who comes through when there's energy left over.

In all her timelines, people like Shang-Tsung, Shao-Kahn and Shinnok exist, creating chaos, destruction and misery and this is a part of her plan. When Raiden permanently incapacitates Shinnok (who is a major threat to the world, literally would cause the exact opposite of peace), Kronika gets mad and goes to reset time. With Shao-Kahn, Shinnok and Shang-Tsung dead, that is a ton of very dangerous people gone so the world would be at peace.
But Kronika doesn't want peace, she wants balance, basically never ending battle between good and evil I assume which would literally not allow peace.
Embodiment of bad writing and wasted potential... They gave her so much power that if she does something everyone gets instantly wiped out. So to balance it out they gave her the IQ of a cactus.
She lost because she was over confident
She lost because she had the IQ of a rock. Every action she took ensured that her plans would fail. She never erases Raiden, keeps bringing him back to the new timelines, erases the evil one that would have killed Liu-Kang and brings the good one back that teams up with Liu-Kang, never captures Liu-Kang or kills him, summons people from the past to protect her hourglass when it only needs to be protected because she brought people from the past.
Kronika said that Raiden and Liu-Kang were her biggest threats, that's a lie. Kronika was Kronika's biggest threat. She could have stayed home and watched Netflix as Geras got the crown and Jinsei and won with no difficulty but instead made sure she'd lose because she is so incompetently written.
So what?? U loose a lui kang and kun lau they loose a lui kang and kung lao. The reality is they couldnt give away the plot of the cycle of raiden vs lui kang.

Kronika seems to have a fetish for ruining her own plan.
Literally all she needs is Jinsei and the Crown to reset the timeline. She and her allies are the only ones who know the Crown exists and where it is while her enemies don't even know she exists. She can also freeze time and teleport anywhere in the universe. She could literally teleport to the Dragon Grotto and grab Jinsei, then go to Shang-Tsung's Island to grab the Crown and go back to the Hourglass and win in like...an hour at most?
But for some reason she doesn't do that and instead reveals herself by merging the past and present, creating more allies for her enemies, including Past Raiden who is one of the only two people in existence who can defeat her. Before she merged time, Raiden was corrupted and vicious while Liu-Kang was undead and a tyrant and the two of them were at each other's throats. Give Dark Raiden a month and he'd have killed Liu-Kang and then no one could stop Kronika. Despite this, Kronika erases Dark Raiden and brings back past Raiden and Liu-Kang who are allies and will work together and care about each other.
Kronika loses because of Kronika, there was no reason she should ever lose except from her own stupidity.
He didn’t pick his destiny, Raiden flunked Liu Kang’s Destiny by misguided prophecy.
Kronika, without a blinded doubt, is the worst video game character in existence, and even people like Meat over this bald disappointment
