Selena Quintanilla Documentary

- READ: The film was edited by myself. I decided to focus on her life rather than her death. Though her murder and murderer are quickly covered, I did not want to make the video about Selena's tragic ending. Rather, I wanted to honor the life of the singer who taught everyone, that the impossible is always possible.

Tears streaming down my face. You've done such a beautiful job conveying what Selena means to all of us. I wish this could be broadcast on television. It's so expertly crafted. So much heart. Thank you for paying tribute to her in such a moving and dignified way. She will never be forgotten.
Jillian H this was the NICEST comment I’ve ever received! I’m just starting with video making and I really appreciate your kind words :)

Selena quintanilla. 😙😙😙
I freaking love her too!! She wont be forgotten...
Your going places. Keep up the great work. Do other artists.
Her and Aaliyahs interview about how they want to remembered tears my heart up..
S M Frfr 😞😞
They both were talented, so down to earth and beautiful inside and out but they will be miss and it will always be within our hearts
I feel like whenever celebrities get asked that question, they end up passing away.
Yesss 💔😥
❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽 rip to both of them ❤️
Netflix should be hiring you to help with the Selena series. I thought I had seen everything that exists about Selena, but this had clips that I’ve never seen before. Thank you for this 💜
Kim mie I second that emotion.
Same here, i thought id seen just about everything about her
What?? Netflix did something on Selena ??
Natasha Letourneau the family is doing a series
@@natashaletourneau5368 yea, I watched it it wasn’t that great I did not enjoy it
I absolute loved her Texas accent and her beautiful speaking voice!
She is the “Star of Texas”.
Suzanne Wagner Aaaaaye. I see what you did there.
Suzanne Wagner the star of the world
Absolutely. My grandson is quarter Mexican and lives in Texas with his mother. My son and his first wife divorced and it breaks my heart that I don't get to see him except twice a year. Last June, I played Selena the movie for him. He lives near Corpus with his mom and she likes heavy metal. I've been to Texas visiting him and I love your State. Texas is beautiful with beautiful people and the Latinos are so friendly. I wanted to teach my grandson some of his culture because his mother cooks Mexican, but acts white. I loved her as a daughter in law and she treats my grandson well. I once told her that if my son tried to take him from her, I would testify FOR her. She's a good Mom. My grandchildren just aren't as into music as I am, but my youngest went back to Texas and asked his mother to buy him the Selena movie. He likes Como Le Flor.
Yes - she is the' Brightest Star' and her light will shine forever and so it is - Blessed It Be.
She is a star of the world
To me, Selena will always be a star. She may be physically gone, but her legacy lives on. It makes me happy to know Selena acquires new fans who watch her music videos, and awesome documentaries on her life such as this one.

I miss her and hope that she sings in heaven with the Angel's now.

She always looked fabulous, and her smile was very genuine. A great person.

Love that you included “more than words” when you started talking about Chris. ❤️
Selena’s body maybe gone, but Selena’s soul will never disappear. Selena will live on forever in her families & fans hearts.
Selena’s voice is a sounds for all generations.
Amen to that ❤
How can anyone dislike this? This is a wonderful video and I'm loving all this footage that I've never seen before.
Britloves Quincy thank you so much!!!
rory82199 you're welcome
I will admit that I knew of Selena before she passed away. I appreciate all the footage and the narration "cheapens" the combination of footage. Selena represented so much soul, beauty, talent, love and personality and (if I didn't know better), I would have been turned off by the narration alone. It sounds like an 11-year old kid came up with it. Not to be too judgmental and it's great to understand that voices that sound a certain way should narrate particular footage and this isn't it. The person's voice is perfect for audiences that are 8-15 years old.
There's always the possibility that someone disliked it by accident. It happened to me. One time I was rewatching a video I enjoyed and realized that somehow I had disliked it.
I know right this video is beautiful of her life as a Spanish singer
She gradually developed up to what she was. The talent was there always but it developed more and more as time went.
+Donna Sure she did she started singing pro @ 9, and to think she never had a prime, what would we have seen (heard)?
i’m a film student too and i have to say,,, this was absolutely incredible!!!! i can see you’re absolutely passionate about Selena and creating art forms that unravel beautiful storytelling
If you love Selena you will enjoy reading the book by her husband Chris Perez!

Her trust was her downfall unfortunately. I would have had a bodyguard with me, if I was her, when she went to get those docs from Yolanda. She left us wayyyy too soon! 👸🏻❤️ 🌹
+Sam Sel did not want bodyguards she said so many times despite her Father urging her too, she trusted people to a fault.
Once I moved to Texas and was betrayed by the first girl I ever befriended, that’s when I just stopped trusting everybody, back then, it was so quick for me to fully trust somebody, now, it takes months or a YEAR for me to fully trust people because of past experiences.
Sam Brooks @@@@@Not truth, the reason is beside the psychopath - waste the old man Quintanilla and Suzette. She actually recomended ! monster to him and he hired that trash. You can't recomend someone you don't know well, that was a total stupidity and admited feeling guilty. Second fatal mistake old man was, do not call the police when he found out sociopath stealing money from Selena. They are both responsible for Selena's death, nobody can blame Selena..........How do you deal with psychopath, if you don't know it's psychopath ????????????????? CORRECTION : Suzette admitted to feel guilty, but Junior will never get it probably.............
SELENA IS MY IDOL OF MINE AND I LOVE HER MUSIC AND I WILL NEVER STOP SINGING HER SONGS

Wonderful job, this is better than most videos I've seen. I'm American and have family members of Mexican decent. It's important to remember Selena, she was a great role model not just for my cousins, sister and nieces but for me and all Americans. This is what makes our country beautiful, the mixture of unique cultures. Selena was a star but more importantly she loved her community and her family. A true inspiration!
This is the most beautiful tribute to Selena I have ever seen you did such a good job RIP Selena ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
Rory; as a long time Selena fan I'd like to thank you for this outstanding, informative and awesome Documentary it really captured her short but successful life; I'm so glad you included her community service work, many people are unaware of that aspect of her life, she really was altruistic, humble and very funny. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Netflix series about her, but honestly what more can be said besides your Documentary? Kudos to you for a job well done.
Your sweet comment means the world to me! Thank you! I’m so excited about the Selena Netflix series too!!!! I wonder who will be playing her! Do you have any ideas?
There’s a Netflix series of Selena?! When did it come to Netflix??? What is it called?

Such a great documentary. You really captured the essence of her being and who she was as a person and what she represents for Latinos all over the world. What artist are doing now she did 20+ years ago and her music will always be timeless.
I really tried to hold back the tears 😢 but that ending with the fans tho..
What really stood out to me is that she wanted to be remembered as a “role model” how many artists say this? I know quite a burden to bury but Selena was one of a kind!
What a way to make a tribute of our queen🌹! Thank you for this! All the time and dedication you put is definitely worth it! Great job gurl! 👏🏻
Thank you so much wow! Youre so sweet!
Selena was truly one of kind. She was absolutely gorgeous, humble, funny, down to earth and the love she had for everyone around her was obvious. She's already a legend, but her star power would've been unstoppable if she wasn't taken too soon.
RIP Selena 💙
Wow you could not have said it any better ...she had that ..it ...thing ?
Her and Aaliyah that have a great personalities and will be miss
Her life was short. But let’s be honest she’s done more in her life than we have ever

The thing I admire the most about her is the ability she had to sing live without tricks and sound as good or sometimes better than the record.
I was brought to tears, and I've watched tons of footage of Selena. The way you presented her life and legacy was truly touching and did her memory justice. Amazing job!
thank you so much queen
Can u image looking back and thinking " omg that was Selena playing at our wedding?"
Beautiful tribute and documentary of one of the greatest talents. Had she lived, she would have surpassed J Lo greatly! She had a beautiful soul. I was recovering from major surgery and had a dream that a great singer was going to pass. 24 hours later, it was Selena. Broke my heart. So glad she found her one true love before she passed. Prayers for all her family and fans.
There are no words to dicscribe how much I love selena and how selena plays a big part in my life . She's accomplished so many things in her life and she continues accomplishing many things . As though it was already planed.
I know how long this took you to edit every frame. My granddaughter did it once and I don't believe she's done it since. You did a beautiful job. Everyone needed this video because especially this year, (and it's taken me a year to realize that in the past I was wrong), when on March 31st 2019 Selena will be gone exactly the same amount of time that she lived on this Earth. I thought it was last year but didn't add in the months past her 23rd birthday that took her only days from being 24 years old when that woman intentionally took her life ...and with premeditation. Oh yes, I believe her death was planned step by step because it was a "thought out process" two weeks from the tax deadline, with a gun in hand. Yolanda had been already fired prior to the meeting of March 31st in that motel room at the Days Inn. The only reason Selena was going to meet Yolanda was to get her tax papers for the businesses that she purchased because the IRS last date for filing is always April 15th and Selena was in a rush to get the papers before Yolanda destroyed them. I always wondered why she wouldn't wait to file an extension, but Yolanda would have ripped those papers up to get revenge, so Selena went to her death, basically because of money. Thank you again for all the work you put in on this video. I am also a lifetime musician, front singer, as were my parents. I have lived the same life as Selena and totally understand everything she went through in that profession. It was never easy. Thank you again.
Thank you 1000 times for your sweet sweet comment! I also think that that women planned everything before hand :/
Love this you did better than the professionals putting a documentary together.
Hey Aurora you did a great job on this. From 1994 to 1995 I was a roadie with Q-Production. I was very lucky to know the family and Selena. I have my memory of her. Thank you.
can you tell us about that experience?
This is an amazing documentary!! I enjoyed this more than most "professional" docs. Thank you for making this
thanks so so much that means everything to me
This is amazing! I love Selena and her beautiful spirit. Selena inspires me to keep reaching after my dreams. And I love how she learned Spanish (beyond singing), she inspires me to keep learning. Congrats on your project you did wonderful. Keep creating.
Absolutely AMAZING!!!! 💜 It was better than some of the documentaries I’ve seen! You can tell how hard you worked on it and how well it was edited! This should be aired on TV! thank you so much for uploading!

Beautiful tribute. Glad to see her memory is still alive.
I grew up on tejano music. Mafia, grupo mazz, Bobby Pulido but Selena wow. My sister went to her final concert in the Astrodome sadly I didn't go. I was 10 yrs old and still remember the day she past away, I was coming home from school and remember seeing my sister crying and that's when she told me Selena died. I was in shock and then tears came down. Amazing beautiful talented woman was taken away to early. Anyways great documentary.
Wow! You're a very talented documentary film maker. I'll bet we're going to hear more from you in the future. Keep up the good work. These kinds of films are so important to people who want to know more.... Well done!

I adore Selena and it pains me to think about how great she would be today considering how beautiful Suzette still is, and far A.b and Chris have came as artist in there own rights. R.I.H Sweet Selena 🥰

Good job girl! You have video I've never seen before and I thought I'd seen them all. Focusing on the positive and showing how down to earth she really was and so family oriented. Back in those days Tejano was the shit and they broke it wide open. She was just a natural talent and an awesome performer. Excellent!
I truly believe that Selena was a gifted role model for all women of color! I'm part Black,Trinidadian, Afro-Latino Panamanian,Creole and Native American.....I'm not Mexican and I might be a mut but she still inspired me and other's like me as well!😊
yes I agree! I am not a poc, I'm just a white Jewish girl, yet her message and her positive feminine energy transcends borders and serves as motivation to all

Missed out on having her children and so many other dreams 2025 is creeping up and I pray her family tries to keep that evil in jail just as Sharon Tates mother did eachtime that Manson Family tried getting out her mother went to every parole meeting up to her death to make sure that evil never got to have sunlight upon their faces and why should such evil be able to espeacially when loved ones can't !! Beautiful video ❤ I hope to see your movie one day you'll look back on this master piece and realize that your guardian angel still remains Selena 💜 Best of luck in your endeavors you too I'm sure will be earning awards at the academy you'll see !! Best of health and blessings always Kelly😊

Goodness me, what a massive loss ☹ She was not only a beautiful person, she was stunning and talented as well. She did so much and gave so much to the world in the short 23 years of her life. It's astonishing as many people don't accomplish even half the amount she has which makes it even more heartbreaking. I believe her legacy will continue to live on and inspire many generations to come. Just like she once said, "the goal isn't to live forever but to create something that will". Very true words Selena and you certainly have... RIP beautiful lady. Gone but not forgotten, you will forever be in our hearts ♥️
