AUDIO ISSUES - PLUG IN HEADPHONES CZcams appears not to like playing this video in stereo on some devices. If you're experiencing issues with audio, please try listening to it on a mobile device or plugging in headphones. Sorry for the inconvenience :/
I have the same tool and experienced similar pros and cons. I am considering to add washers between the body of tool and the guiding metal depending on the lace width I want to cut. May be then it would be more stable while cutting laces constantly.
Excellent video - thank you. FYI there is a blog post by Phil of Leathercraft Masterclass from around three years ago where he adds sides to this knife to make it a bit wider and ends up with a really lovely looking knife.
Thanks Lawrie, glad you like it :) If you happen to find the video you're talking about I would love to have a look at it! I've searched his past videos and can't seem to find it :/
@@JamesBerry Hi James. Here is a link to the CZcams video where he showcases the finished knife - czcams.com/video/GaJbICxRCBo/video.html However the video doesn't show how he made it. You need to go his fully illustrated blog post for that - www.leathercraftmasterclass.com/post/diy-the-perfect-leather-craft-knife-build-along-tutorial Hope this helps.
@@lawrieharnden4614 DAMN that's awesome :o I may have to buy another of those cheap tools to duplicate the knife making process from Phil! Thank you so much for sharing this with me :)
I prefer the Olfa metal knife that has a one touch locking adjustment. Same snap off blades. Unscrewing the bolt and closing the knife is just more complicated than the Olfa knife.
Completely agree. I have one such knives waiting for a review video coming soon! It's definitely the best knife every crafter should own due to the insane usefulness for the price!
So weird, I've rechecked on different devices on my end and all sounds as it should. Thanks for letting me know - I'll see if this is a recurring issue.

@@JamesBerry You're very welcome - love to see the finished knife
if only they just made the wheel/screw smooth and larger, then it could've acted as the guide, better than the flexible metal I'd bet
That's an interesting suggestion. Indeed I'm sure it would be quite easy to make this tool so much better!

Something's wrong with the audio in this video James.
Shoot, sounds fine on my end :/
What are you hearing?
@@JamesBerry couldn't hear anything just muffling sound

@@JamesBerry seems like my my phone's issue but other videos sounds fine 😩
Thanks I really appreciate the feedback!
A deburring tool would have probably done a better job taking off the sharp edges but the Dremel wil do the job
Great tip, thank you David! I don't own one of those tools but will have to grab one next time I'm at the hardware store :)
I'm not getting audio on this video either.
Works fine with headphones on but not on my phone's speakers. Other videos sounds just fine though. Weird.
Thanks, just tried it with headphones and it works.
This is so weird, I've never had this kind of issue before :o
@@JamesBerry Thanks for uploading anyway. I was about to buy this tool for trimming edge allowance.
@@markfoley3402 don't buy it I had the same thought as you but it's crap 🤣
