Did you notice the growl at the end? It was most excellent! Yes, he takes anything and just goes all Vasc on it. There are some covers, like Journey, where you have to look at him to remind yourself that it isn't Steve Perry singing. As you already know, Dan can control his voice and its textures to sound very different in each song. Try a Journey song, or, as a treat, listen to his cover of Toto's "Africa." He sings every Nightwish song amazingly. I really couldn't love this guy more, and it's obvious you are now a part of Vascnation. Welcome to our world. I hope your heart is strong. ❤

The lyrics to this song is taken from an original viking saga, Eigil Skallagrim Saga and thus dates back to viking time. Eigil as a child says this to his father in the saga. Dan does s good interpretation, but my favourite is the acapella group VoicePlay. They have also covered what might seem like a sequel, Valhalla Calling from Miracle of Sound. Recommended listening if you want more viking style music.
