I actually had one planned where I was going to talk about what it's like to play as every single killer, and my friend was going to do a twinned "What it's like to play AGAINST every killer" on her channel, but we ended up putting it on the back-burner. I do intend to return to it one day
Its such a shame that a universe with so many rich characters, lore and world building, won't ever be capitalized on because blizzard is such a god awful corporation. Broken promises and everything else.
I've never played Overwatch in my live, yet you managed to get me to sit down and pay attention for an hour straight! Even if this was less structured than your other videos, it was still very entertaining, and your wit and writing chops still shines through. I now have a chance at understanding what my Overwatch obsessed friends are talking about, so thank you!
Genji and Lucio didn't make sense to me on controller until I changed L1 to jump. Made jumping around and being a nuisance so much easier! Great video!
I've been with Overwatch since I think either 2016 or 2017. I was what you could call a skilled Junkrat - I taught myself how to take out every sniper, how to fuck with people through my traps and bombs, they HATED me and I had the MOST fun. Every time I won an encounter I would start cackling loudly to myself, the serotonin boost made my day.
I have an embarassing high amount of time on OW1 but never played OW2 because it gave me a bad gut feeling. I am glad you are enjoying the game and I really liked listening to you ramble about your opinions of all the characters! Especially the ones I haven't even known existed. I still love Ana and Orisa even if I will never play the game again.
I'm glad Zenyata made the list that high, he was the only character that kept me playing Overwatch for a while. When part 2 came out, I wanted to give him another try, but Blizzard fucked up taking over your unlocks initially, so they seperated Zenyata and me. I played 2 rounds as Reaper, sighed, told my team I'm out and deinstalled the game. While I'm not an active player, I really appreciate the concept behind it and your character breakdown was really fun.
I'm an OW1 veteran, if you will, that dropped out during it's content drought because the amount of frustrated helplessness, seething and malding this game induces in me is rivaled only by League Of Legends. Occasionally I came back to dick around with mates and a cold one, tried out OW2 when it came out and their rebalancing made me quit outright, I don't recall being this angry at a game in my life. I understand your grievance with 5v5 and one tank, oh boy do I understand. Saying all of that, hearing your comments regarding the game and ranking of characters feels strangely cathartic. Especially the "being afraid of your own team" thing and the fear of getting chewed out. I didn't really engaged with the chat myself, even positive human interactions are fucking debilitating to me, but I always dread the outpour of toxic screeching in chat. My tier list looks hella different, but that's what makes it more interesting! Fascinating to see different perspectives. My Top 5, in following order: Tracer, Widow, Brigitte, Zarya and Reaper. Absolutely loved hearing about your OW experience, never thought I'd hear the tactical nuke that is Ram be described as "blessed pookie wookie" but I think it was honestly healing. Yay! I love hearing other people’s OW experience. My bf has over 1k hours logged, so I’ve heard my fair share of complaining. 😂 That being said, I also fell for the “Bridgette looks buff and adorable, I wanna be her” and quickly became disappointed in her play style. Idk man, the performance anxiety with trying to learn the game while getting bullied by your teammates is a lot for me. 😬 I was hoping PvE would be a good entry point for someone like me but NOOOOOOOOO 😭😭
The aspect of the game where you get hate in chat is basically the only reason why I never got into Overwatch, just knowing that you're letting people down isn't really fun for me, so I could never get into it. When I heard that OW2 was _going_ to have a single player campaign with PvE I was very excited because it seemed just like my cup of tea, and then... well, any reason I had for getting the game died. It really is a shame because I really like the world and the characters, but I could never get into the game. Oh Well.... these videos are always entertaining anyway, thanks Mert! So, I was an Ana main in OW1 and I guess I was kinda good because I just couldn't catch a break from the enemy team, they were out to get me. Ranked was so much stress inducing because there was always a point in the match when my teammates got comfortable, left me alone for a push (since Ana just doesn't have any mobility and can't really keep up) and a flanker just solo ulted me. But it was also so fun ! A true emotional rollercoaster haha!

Half way through atm. Super interesting to watch, Im an overwatch sweat. Gm since s5, Ive played on and coached teams and have over 4k hours. Nowadays i just place my main and play QP. But generally OW content is all about ranked and meta so its really interesting and funny to see your perspective on characters. EG sigma - to me hes strong (sometimes) and has great pressure to you hes slow and clunky and I totally see that, I dont play him myself I just think of him in terms of meta. Ur perspective is nice to hear. Also which heroes i associate with toxicity vs you is funny too, I associate Sym with the fellow gays and as generally not toxic for example. But i can totally imagine an uptight QP Only Sym crying in match chat Very cool video im so glad i found you from that 13 Reasons video as every video ive watched since has been a banger from u :D Edit: OMG THE BASTION BIT IS SO TRUE my main duo plays widow and when things go wrong she goes bastion and i hold her hand as mercy while she rails the enemy team into the floor :3
@@MertKayKay i get a lot of 'How do I improve/climb' style questions. My general advice is 1. Specialise, you dont have to one trick but if you play a different hero every game you will find progress much slower. Find what speaks to you whether its meta or not and spend your time building skills on that hero. 2. You will get bad players. When you play to improve you must not focus on that, win or loss its all about you. If you lose 1 game it wont matter in the long run so dont let it bog you down. Obviously there is so much more to say but i generally recommend content creators or pros for specific info! The OW community is pretty educational generally
I got into overwatch because of someone showcasing mercy on their tumblr, and i was like wow i love her! she is my most played hero by a fair bit, big time support main. Mercy and Ana are my top 2 played
i wish you had released this earlier on in the OW2 cycle.. i played so much OW1 as Hanzo and Mei and Torbs that i got very used to their projectile speeds - moving into OW2 as those players, with their heavily reduced projectile speeds, was horrible and i quickly gave up on the game. given recent news of dead PVE content = dead, i no longer have a reason to play this game, i hate it. nonetheless, i will watch your video in the full, and i will love it. edit; i'm glad your footage of ana is all unscoped / close combat. that's the fun way to play her, good job! edit2: my psych told me to skip that nap so i can sleep better later and idk man...idk.
You know. I gotta admit, I do find you fascinatingly, brilliantly, brave. Over and over in your reviews of co-op horror or Fear and Hunger, or Blair Witch, etc etc, you've mentioned that you are less than brave and freeze up. But many of your reviews are horror games and in this review you've mentioned you were berated and verbally abused by man children piss boys and yet STILL you strive and claw foreword. I really really dig it. I've had similar experiences in Overwatch and League of Legends and these cool worlds with fun characters just gets soured for me. But you've seemed to at least enjoy them while you could. I admire that. Keep on keeping on!

ngl never played overwatch and have no interest in supporting anything from the den of sin that is activision blizzard atm, but you managed to make an hour worth of content on it entertaining just a testament to how great your content is :D
I love how Mercy didn't even make it to the list, despite being most likely often picked for a support role as a “sentence character” (you know, when your other healer sucks as it tries to be bootleg DPS, your Tank dosen't have any idea what they are doing, both DPS' are at 0/20 5k dmg and you have no other choice but to go Mercy in desperate attempt to patch thing up).
If you're a DPS-Moira then you're a bad Moira. She's a very powerful healer. I can keep my team alive even if the other healer is slacking. Sigma is currently my favorite tank. I mained Orisa in OW1, so I got really good at placing shields and sucking up damage. I enjoy how she plays in OW2, but the OW1 skills transitioned very nicely to Sigma. Also, I just really like the absentminded professor/ weed dad vibe he has going. Junkrat is my sweet baby boy, my favorite DPS. The first time I played him, some rando on my team yelled at me that if I didn't place the bear traps exactly where he pointed then WE WOULD LOSE THE MATCH and it scared me away from Jamison for far too long. Now playing Junkrat is the best way for me to relieve stress. I could be playing terribly, but exploding upon dying and then coming back with a chipper "This situation calls for more bombs," and I can't help but smile. Fun list! I enjoyed hearing your thoughts, and sharing a few of mine.
Loom I'm bad with support but when there is a time I need to play support to keep the team alive but also make sure I can do damage I have Moira to count on

At moments I really enjoyed playing OW1, and while I agree something had to be done about the endless shield battering that matches would most of the time turn into... what they did with the re-balancing in OW2 was not it (and lets not talk about the monetization, absolute garbage). OW2 is inferior in every single aspect and I haven't touched it since. Tremendous waste of a pretty good game.
I never played Overwatch but I did play Paladins which I enjoyed for a while. I'm sure Overwatch was better but I cost money and Paladins was free PLUS, It would bee too heartbreaking hearing that English voice actor lowering themselves to doing that terrible fake Victorian-Cockney accent for Tracer that American think is an actual 'British accent'.
I'm surprised you can continue to put up with a game that the developers cannot seem to balance properly, at any point in it's history, and also deal with the fact that the company that made it just did a massive rug pull and said "lol PVE is cancelled, the one big selling point of deleting the old game and forcing everyone into a F2P nightmare."
Me neither! I think the great thing about the imbalance is that every time they try and patch it/update it, completely new characters will be meta. So there's a rotation of imbalance even if we can't achieve harmony
Overwatch story is mainly told through out of game content, Primarily cinematics. Which are great!! They are on youtube and i recommend them however blizz is crap at keeping us updated so what we have now is all we will have for a while (TBF a new cinematic might be coming in the next year?) The game also has free comics and some old In game stories which you dont really need to know to understand the story. Each character has their own lore which have little youtube animations and some have the larger cinematics also.

At moments I really enjoyed playing OW1, and while I agree something had to be done about the endless shield battering that matches would most of the time turn into... what they did with the re-balancing in OW2 was not it (and lets not talk about the monetization, absolute garbage). OW2 is inferior in every single aspect and I haven't touched it since. Tremendous waste of a pretty good game.

I never played Overwatch but I did play Paladins which I enjoyed for a while. I'm sure Overwatch was better but I cost money and Paladins was free PLUS, It would bee too heartbreaking hearing that English voice actor lowering themselves to doing that terrible fake Victorian-Cockney accent for Tracer that American think is an actual 'British accent'.
I'm surprised you can continue to put up with a game that the developers cannot seem to balance properly, at any point in it's history, and also deal with the fact that the company that made it just did a massive rug pull and said "lol PVE is cancelled, the one big selling point of deleting the old game and forcing everyone into a F2P nightmare."
Me neither! I think the great thing about the imbalance is that every time they try and patch it/update it, completely new characters will be meta. So there's a rotation of imbalance even if we can't achieve harmony

Does overwatch have a great story?
Overwatch story is mainly told through out of game content, Primarily cinematics. Which are great!! They are on youtube and i recommend them however blizz is crap at keeping us updated so what we have now is all we will have for a while (TBF a new cinematic might be coming in the next year?) The game also has free comics and some old In game stories which you dont really need to know to understand the story. Each character has their own lore which have little youtube animations and some have the larger cinematics also.
The animations are good, but it has the "racism but its robots syndrome" so it fails at social commentary quite a lot, its a bit ebarassing
At least they didn't do "Elves and Dwarves are an allegory for racism", that trope is way overdone

I used to love overwatch, but the balance became so awful, and I hate 1 tank forced gameplay in OW2. So the game is just no longer enjoyable for me.
