Very convincingly! In top level chess a 2 pawn advantage in the game is lethal because they can become queens if they reach the other end of the board. If you watch carefully white was about to do that and then check mate in a couple of moves so black resigned when he offered the handshake

Because white has the better position and if you trade you lose control of e7 which can backfire for white.

Black resigned because there is nothing for him to do. The king is stuck blocking the pawn and the knight is stuck blocking the other pawn. White's king will to force the knight to move then promote the pawn
