    It seems like your trying to move away from using any synthetic materials like foam etc. What is that clay/mortar mix? Does it hold up for a while or has it started to crumble apart? I bet its easier to take apart and start a fresh scape then having to cut and carve foam from rocks.

    • @AvidDreamer90
      @AvidDreamer90 Před 2 lety +6

      The clay/mortar is bonsai peat muck mixed with what I think is sphagnum moss. Dunno what that black substance he squeezed out of the tube is, however.

      I think when the mix spagma moss with earth the soil remains damp throughout due to the water flow but I might be wrong. It certainly won’t be the first time.

    • @johnielmercado9199
      @johnielmercado9199 Před 2 lety +9

      Sphagnum moss helps in retaining water in the soil/mixture. Silicon was added to the small chunk of soil placed on the outlet part to make the soil more resistant to errosion. I think he also used silicon-soil-sphagnum mixture on some areas where the water mainly flows.

    One thing I appreciate is a realistic and accurate thumbnail. I love Serpa Designs' videos, but it bugs me when he makes a video building a waterfall, and his thumbnail looks like a REAL waterfall and the end product looks nothing like it because he just photoshopped a real waterfall into the thumbnail.
