I love how relaxing these videos are. But my mind is broken and when I saw the box of rock I instantly thought donkey from Shrek saying " that's a nice boulder, I like that boulder".
It seems like your trying to move away from using any synthetic materials like foam etc. What is that clay/mortar mix? Does it hold up for a while or has it started to crumble apart? I bet its easier to take apart and start a fresh scape then having to cut and carve foam from rocks.
I think when the mix spagma moss with earth the soil remains damp throughout due to the water flow but I might be wrong. It certainly won’t be the first time.
Sphagnum moss helps in retaining water in the soil/mixture. Silicon was added to the small chunk of soil placed on the outlet part to make the soil more resistant to errosion. I think he also used silicon-soil-sphagnum mixture on some areas where the water mainly flows.
I'm not sure how the mud part doesn't just wash away with the water running over it like that, maybe that is what part of the black tube was? a kind of sealant? So pretty in any case.

One thing I appreciate is a realistic and accurate thumbnail. I love Serpa Designs' videos, but it bugs me when he makes a video building a waterfall, and his thumbnail looks like a REAL waterfall and the end product looks nothing like it because he just photoshopped a real waterfall into the thumbnail.
Dommage de ne pas avoir de descriptif de tout ce qui est utilisée Dans la vidéo, pour ce qu'il souhaite le reproduire. Encore une fois très beau travail
most of the upkeep is trimming plants that outgrow the setup, making sure the filter does not get clogged, and proper light/humidity/airflow for the moss is proper.

The clay/mortar is bonsai peat muck mixed with what I think is sphagnum moss. Dunno what that black substance he squeezed out of the tube is, however.
@@AvidDreamer90 i think it's silicone, but i'm not sure what it does
Maybe it's mixed with clay or cement

I wish there was a list of materials used in creating this beautiful pieces of living art
Used to be in his early works, so just an excuse to see more art honestly
It sometimes appears in the subtitles for his videos. Probably check back again when they become available.
Im pretty sure all he used was earth, sphagnum moss and silicon for the fillings and lava rock, corrugated plastic for the structure.
@@lilnoir4213he used soil+ moss + silicone as the binding for the rocks ???? I'm right??

What's the maintenance for these kinds of things? i want to make one but I'm not sure what kind of upkeep I would have to do.
he made a three part series on maintenance/growth of his ravine scape. check it out, definitely one of his best works.
most of the upkeep is trimming plants that outgrow the setup, making sure the filter does not get clogged, and proper light/humidity/airflow for the moss is proper.
