  • ( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2015 GMC Yukon Denali is a traditional SUV that has three rows and enough room to haul you, your friends and a few horses in the back of the trailer. And unlike the Chevy Suburban and the Chevy Tahoe, the new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali comes with the big 420 Horsepower 6.2L V8 straight out of the Silverado and Sierra. So is it fast from 0-60? You'll have to watch this first drive TFLcar 0-60 MPH video as Roman reviews the newest and most luxurious GMC Yukon yet.

    Look people that are saying it's overpriced well there wrong lol. See it from my point i myself and allot of other people are the "average joe" who will not be able to afford one of these SUV's. It's basically the corvette of SUV's. A guy who make's 200k a year would not mind owning one of these tanks on wheel's. They make lots of power somewhat fuel efficient for the size and have loads of room. People should not get mad they should appreciate the fact that this American company made such a great vehicle. All of GM's vehicles today are pretty good. But they did not forget us lol for the guy who can afford a stripped down version of these vehicles with a 5.3l the after market is massive for LS engines and very easy to get the legendary push rod v8 to push some massive numbers. Just my two cents.

    I drive an 03 Yukon Xl Denali, it has a 6.0. And i have driven Suburban's and Tahoe's that can't compare. They feel heavy and well the AWD on the Denali's is great and they are really well made. Mine is going on 11 years and has no mechanical problems and its alot of fun. 0-60mph in 8.2 seconds.

    This is worth no more than $65,000 if GM wants to sell any. If the Denali is $75,000 then I can't imagine what the Escalade costs.

    Test drove it. We are getting the Lincoln Navigator after driving the Yukons and Tahoes. Visually I thought the Yukon and Tahoe was nice inside and out. Rear seat is not good for bigger kids or adults in the Yukon or Tahoe where the Navigator definitely does. The floor height is cramped with the solid rear axle underneath in the Yukon and Tahoe, where in the Navigator your feet are not cramped because the Navigator has rear independent suspension. The Yukon and Tahoe doesn't have independent rear suspension so when you drive you notice that the vehicle doesn't have as good of a ride as the Navigator. Steering the Yukon and Tahoe took way more work but I did like the thick steering wheel where the Navigator steered effortlessly. Gas pedal on the Small V8 is so restricted to try and get good gas mileage. The 6.2 was well powered and didn't have the same lethargic gas pedal but on the Lincoln Navigator the throttle response was not just amazing but powerful across a larger power-band. I don't think the 6.2 would win zero to 60 nor do I think the 6.2 could out pull a full trailer as well.

      :-) Funny. Just my honest opinion after test driving all the full size options. Go test drive the 2015 Lincoln. I'm definitely not disappointed. My wife is the one choosing. Its for her. She likes all of the 2015. But likes the Lincoln more based upon the obvious after driving all of them.

      You sound like a one party politician. I'm not a crowd follower. I prefer freedom to choose by driving the product. You sound like you would buy anything made by GMC. Where I would buy a GMC like a Corvette after driving it because they are simply awesome. Not because everyone else thinks their awesome from past years. The Lincoln rides better, steers better, and is more responsive when you get on the throttle, and it is more capable for towing. It has 440 lbs feet of torque. You obviously have not gone to a lot and driven one.

    Why aren't SUVs like this built with diesel engines? Its not like someone is going to take their denali offroad so wouldn't someone benefit from a diesel SUV. They would be able to tow, carry bags/kids, and would get way better MPG than with a gasoline engine...

      Mr. Jesus - I agree. Take note that Nissan will be coming out with a Cummins TD in their Titan trucks in 2015. So maybe we'll see the TD in Armadas? I think Nissan could have a hit by revamping the Armada into the only BIG suv with a TD that gets nice mileage.

    • @dash456789
      @dash456789 Před 10 lety

      Because in America Gasoline and Diesel prices are very similar. So it takes decades to start saving money with the diesel, because of the premium it would have over the gasser. In Europe diesel fuel is substantially cheaper then gasoline, which makes it much easier to get your money back that you spent to buy the diesel car in the first place. I regularly pay about $3.99-4.35 per gallon for regular ole diesel fuel for my Mercedes in Washington state. Regular unleaded at the same stations is usually about 25-45 cents cheaper per gallon, that ads up very quickly.

      What's so hard to understand? It's 2014 and technology has gotten much better. Compare the luxury amenities you get in a new G-Class compared to a new Denali and I bet they compare pretty similarly.

    • @upilufti
      @upilufti Před 10 lety

      MrCleanPolo I never said it was hard to understand. I literally only asked when they got so pricey. Calm down a tad.
      And as far as "technology has gotten much better," I disagree. No. Technology has gotten more accessible. That's the reason why the stuff you find in a Denali will *finally* parallel the G-Class (which has had all this "stuff" for a while).

    Theres a reason why all the celebs get driven around in the gm suvs and not a merc gl. They are very comfortable. If you need to tow alot, you can, drive 7 or 8 people around you can, you wanna go off roading you can, you wanna be safe, you are, laws of physics, bigger and heavier wins, i mean to get hit by a pickup truck in this suv or a prius? As far as price, well 15 years ago i almost bought a chevy tahoe, cheapest on the lot was 38 grand, now they start at45 grand. Its called inflation.

    • @6824096
      @6824096 Před 10 lety

      dchawk81 The Tahoe and suburban still are way overpriced. Think about this, would you buy a Yukon or a Tahoe for 50k with just literally satellite radio as your only option? Because that is how much it is. And 20k for options on a GM vehicle to equal 70k on a suburban, I minus well go BMW or Mercedes.

    • @6824096

      6824096 GM literally owns the suv market. Thats why the tahoe is "Overpriced. You corner the market and then raise the price. Simple business economics. Expedition and Navigator doesn't even come near this. Big mistake was dumping the V8 for a V6. Ford had a 6.2L V8, which should have been used in their Navigator to compete against the Denali.

    • @MrChevypower
      @MrChevypower Před 10 lety

      Nihsel101 The Ford V6 absolutely annihilates the 5.3! The Expedition with the IRS rides so much smoother. Low-range isn't standard in the Suburban 4x4 anymore. 3.08 axles. It's just a big station wagon these days. Actually they're all pretty boring now. It's a shame because they could have made something great.

      @NihselV Před 10 lety

      True.There is a knob on the Tahoe with different setting like 2 wheel low, 4 wheel low, and 4 wheel high. But The Navigator deserves something little more than a twin turbo V8 under 400 hp.

    Reviewers have become extended salespeople for manufacturers. The styling of this vehicle looks so much like a Ford grille and Dodge body. Not much imagination there. I see the improvements/upgrades in the interior, but NOT $75k worth. yeah, I hear the engine, but that engine sounds like the same Escalade engine from 5+ years ago. How much more hp can GM squeeze out of the same block before the design fails? Finally...@ 5:13 when did "real aluminum" become such a precious metal? Who are we kidding? Where's Ricardo Montalban and his "soft corinthian leather" ?

    If others are like me I look at the MPG first. These big trucks should all be running V6 Turbo diesels. The auto makers have the technology. Funny how we are just coming around in America to understand that we need to change our ways of living and stop driving trucks like these although there is such an appeal for this high riding and comfortable vehicle. You feel safe in it. We don't need it we want it.

    Can someone explain to me where this fits in? The Tahoe obviously being the 'everyday' mans SUV, but what is this? It can't be luxurious because that's the Escalade's genre.
    I understand this is a niche market, but a 70k being targeted towards everyday folk sure is hefty - I understand this is a boat of a truck though.

    • @hawker800FO

    • @rueben44
      @rueben44 Před 10 lety +4

      Well it is the ultra luxury like that of the Escalade for people who don't want the full on flash of the Cadillac. So Chevy is for everyone, the Denali is for the luxury buyer who doesn't want to shock and awe, and the Cadillac is in your face boldness.

    • @MercuryMorrison
      @MercuryMorrison Před 10 lety +1

      That's just it...It doesn't fit in. Ford for example has the Expedition / EL models which serve as the every man's SUV for their nameplate and the Lincoln Navigator serves as Fords ultra lux SUV.
      GM seem's to think that they need three brands to shuffle around. From GM's perspective its like...
      Chevrolet Taho = Every man's SUV
      GMC Denali = Luxury SUV
      Cadillac Escalade = Ultra Lux SUV
      The Denali is in a segment all on its own with no real competition because other manufactures see how much of a waste of money it is to have 3 segments like this.

    Went and saw the new Yukon & Tahoe this weekend! Was nice on interior quality and they did a great job on design; even the old skool gear shifter didn't cutback it's swagger! Loved the amount of chargers for the front and 2nd row phn/media devices also. -BUT- the problem I had was the lack of interior room(6ft limit on 2nd row) on the 2nd & 3rd row plus when looking at the Denali with the 2nd row captain chairs, IT HAS NO center console option, meaning no real cup holders or extra storage. With that kind of money being doled out, can't understand the reasoning.

    • @arobee1134
