- 6 handbags to never pay full price for, 6 handbags that in my opinion, are overpriced and do not justify the price to buy these retail. These are bags that either, the retail price has risen so high, it is hard to justify the price, or bags that just don't hold their value on the resale market and you will be able to fin versions at a considerable saving. Of course there will be exceptions to this, bags that are limited in colour or design and you may not find again, but all of these, in the very least, deserve consideration to buy preloved on the resale market.

I’ve bought my whole collection pre-loved. Whether in brand new condition or like new condition for me it’s been great. Highly recommend going pre loved.
Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 years old. I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your friends! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don't want to spend so much money now, I have *condup* bought the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability
If it's a limited edition, I'll buy a fake if I can't buy the original *hotdups* .
I wouldn't mind buying an inspired knock-off that's different from the designer knock-off *preluxscom* .

I am considering buying a Lady Dior from the boutique right now. Yes, I can save a LOT on the preloved market but I am so scared of paying €€€€ for a fake. I love the brands classics. They‘ve been around for decades so the scammers had decades to perfect their fakes. I don’t want to run that risk. I‘d rather be safe than sorry. Even if looking at the preloved prices hurts 😭

I have a Fendigraphy and I must say it's one of my more used bags. If you find one on the resale, snatch it up. It sits so comfortable on the arm and doesn't slide. It's amazing.

I agree with you. The Fendigraphy is so useful and the leather is very durable. I don't baby mine and no scratch at all. It carries a lot too. It is very well priced and you can still buy new

It’s like you are speaking directly to me….i am literally currently going back & forth with my SA over a mini capucines. It is an exotic & therefore limited, but the drastic price difference when looking at preloved has me hesitant 😬

I tried soooo hard to pay 100% attention to what you were saying, but…. My eyes couldn’t stay away from your new Chanel sequin mini! It is a stunner! Kind of weird but it reminds me of a dress I bought in the early 90’s. I lusted after that dress and when I finally got it, I remember telling my dad, God rest him, that that if I never had a chance to wear it and only ever got to just look at it hanging outside my closet I would die a happy woman. I did wear it on my honeymoon cruise, and still have it. 😂

There's nothing wrong with counterfeit fashion products, as long as they're not fragrances, and as long as they sell for significantly less than the actual product from the manufacturer in question *preluxscom* bags are awesome. Prices are all around $150.
I’ll also say that Chloé bags on the resale market often go for half, sometimes a third of the price. I don’t understand how, they keep in great condition if you can avoid the suede!

Amelia, you're so sweet. I love your videos. I'm like you. I love the boutique experience, especially at Dior. They are just genuinely lovely and nice people. I have both the lady dior and saddle bag. The saddle bag might just be my favorite of the 2 because it's sporty. It's always good to have a comparison on price. In my case, I felt the Dior experience was worth it.

The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your *hotdups* bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
I enjoyed this very much and buying pre-loved definitely sounds like a viable option. I have heard that buying from stores sometimes isn’t the experience it once was. I’ve heard of instances of people being treated quite badly by sales associates.

I am planning to get a preloved BV padded cassette soon for about $3000 less than retail and in very good condition. I love the bag and would love the experience of buying new in store in Italy on our upcoming trip but just cannot justify that when I can get such a great deal on the Real Real.

I have the capucines bb and Chanel CF but both brand new from store granted I could have save tons buying pre-loved. mine Capucines is in the lilac color with Kintsugi Handle which is gorgeous and the Chanel CF is the all time fav - cavier with GHW. No regrets buying brand new because its my only CF and I want it microchip as most resellers are going for way too high for even the same model & the stress of dealing with them and arranging to meet up (in my country) is 😅

Probably the dior is easier to use , but i love the mini cap!
Fendi and Dior depreciate so much in re-sell market. Those who bought Dior from store and want to re-sell in preloved market, would suffer a lot.

The boutique experience doesn’t do anything for me. While in Paris, I found some of the salespeople tied me up too long. However, I did like being able to see and touch my items. The only perk for me.

There is NO bag from any fashion house that really hold its value nowadays. Unless you bought your bag years ago and you happen to want to sell it today. The thing is, purse prices are not going to go up too much anymore in the next 5 years. Probably the only exception is a Birkin but how many years do you also wait for a Birkin? All the classics of each fashion house is listed here and all of these bags are right away, 50 to 60% of the retail price when bought preloved. That is why one needs to be discriminating of one's purse shopping. When you love a bag, put it on your wishlist and buy it, preloved or new.

If you can’t afford it full price, don’t bother buying it. There’s always a slighttttt possibility that it is a fake. The doubt stays with you forever, not worth the few thousands you saved. I do not trust ANY and ALL resellers with my hard-earned money.

I was going to buy a Chanel medium,black classic flap in the boutique. I hadn’t realized they had doubled in price since the last time I looked. So instead of paying 11,000 dollars, I bought on the resale market. I paid 4,000 dollars and it looks brand new. I love the boutique experience, but decided it wasn’t worth 7,000 dollars! I am very happy with my decision.

Some bags the savings are just so high
I used to feel the same way, but you can compare serial numbers, hardware and lining against CZcams unboxings and I got myself comfortable given the savings versus retail. It was worth it to me!
