- Hiromatsu as referred to in the Shogun TV show is based on the real life of Hosokawa Fujitaka a Samurai daimyo during the sengoku period, the time in Japanese history in which civil wars and social upheavals took place almost continuously in the 15th and 16th centuries, resulting in a time of everlasting war and chaos. Fujitaka was also a respected warrior, poet and scholar whose great intelligence was noted at an early age. His actions would greatly affect the end of the Sengoku era, this is his story.

my favorite character from the show! looking forward to this.
He being gifted in poetry, swimming and swordsmanship in the 16th century: immortal legend.
My having the same skills in 2024: unemployed and broke.
Farmers in the 16th century: Broke peasants. Farmers in modern times, 💰💰💰
Thank you so much for watching! Its awesome you have those skills!!
You just have to inherit a noble title in a feudal system and you are set.
Men with this kind of loyalty are of the highest of caliber
comparable skills in 2024 would be : coding, AI skills, crypto skills, 1 sport / pick any, poetry is still relevant, because it makes you better writer, be it your resumes or your tweets.

what's great about it? Fuckarse can't even pronounce the names properly.
his grandson approves this profile post ❤
Anyone else getting the vibe that warlords was a good thing to have left behind? Imagine being a regular person dealing with this. Instead, we get mostly non violent warlords where you only get thrown in prison or fined to get you to comply. But hey, at least we get to live & never move up
With respect: for a future video, try to work at the pronunciation of Japanese names.
Please do one on Omi
Honda masazumi his real counterpart was a loyal and trusted vassal of ieasu tokugawa but he was banish when hidetada the heir come to power because he simply dont like him
i have looked into him! I cant find a single image of him depicted as he was in real life , do you know where I could find one?
@@historyprofiles go watch taiga drama tokugaawa aoi sendai
@@historyprofiles or taiga drama gou himetachi the story of wife of hidetada u can see the fallout between mazasumi and his young lord
Does anyone known who has nickname Inoshishi in Sengoku Jidai era? Or armor looking like a boar
Sakai Tadatsugu - In 1560, during that time, it is said Tadatsugu killed a boar with his katana, earning it the name of the Inoshishi-giri or Inokiri (猪切 the Boar Slayer)
Isn't Hiromatsu based on Torii Mototada instead of Hosokawa ?
I don’t believe so, mototada’s last stand was incredible, I think hiromatsu could be based off both men like the character is a mix of both of them. The shogun FX website says he is based off hosokawa Fujitaka, and he is buntaro/ tadaokis father in the show and in real life, so I would say it is hosokawa fujitaka. But I do see your point and get that he could a mix of the two men
@@historyprofiles You are clearly right, and the one person who can absolutely unambiguously be mapped is Hosokawa Gracia/Toda Mariko, and everything else can be derived from that. HOWEVER: the painting of Toyotomi Hideoshi clearly shows Sanada Hiroyuki, so we have all been deceived and everything shifts back by one unifier. Toronaga is Toyotomi, and the two potentates who came before aren't Toyotomi and Oda, but Oda and Imagawa! ;-)
I thought his character was based on Honda Masanobu
