Thank you, thank you again for yet another beautiful shiur. One question - wasn't the reason Machlon and Kilyon died a punishment for their having married non-Jewish women? So how could it be that they HAD converted before their marriage?

My pleasure. One of the reasons they were punished was because they married gentile women - and there is a debate among the rabbis whether they converted before or after the marriage.
