These changes are big , and people were saying Amazon can not do anything it is all about Korea , it is more like Amazon did not want to do anything for the west .
From what I've heard, SG has a separate developer team for China's version. Laws in the PRC made SG have to make major changes to the game, so they got their own dedicated group of devs. Which is what should have happened to the AGS version, but this was a first try for Amazon, no one thought to do this. We had over 1 million players in the first week and AGS and SG squandered that to the point that we have about 20% real player retention. If this were any other business, heads would roll. At this point, SG should be dedicating a group of devs to us, but our player count is so low it's not economically feasible for them to do that.
@@jimbobborg22I really do wonder if all these higher ups making the decisions are just that incompetent. And only start panicking once ireversable and unfixable damage has been done. Do they not have community reps relaying the issues, health, and satisfaction of the community? How can they be so poor at their job and still not be fired is beyond me
@@GFClocked Remember when we had the community forum versus Discord? The people with the loudest voices were the people who were heard. They wanted all of the content as quickly as possible, disregarding all of the gold sinks and that huge dead zone that were in the game. People were already struggling when Argos came out, many just quit because of the dead zone. And don't get me started on the streamers encouraging people to zoom through stuff.
Add all that to the fact that AGS was asleep at the wheel when they had the early access and not noting that the servers were overtaxed even then. They could have literally spun up EUW prior to the general opening but they didn't. Long lines and frustrated players lost them so many customers.
All of the above was a perfect storm of mishandling and incompetence that got us here.

To be fair, I have had many buyers as a busser that would pay the price to have players that have hands to play with & understand the raid. I've taught many players during busses, this goes back to the early days too. Clown was very common for someone to tag along to learn the raid while paying for a bus. Now it would be ivory tower were someone would pay to learn & play along without the stress of failing. I don't bus anymore however, but that was the typical buyer back then and more so in 4man content. Although 8man it also happened too, with the exception of very difficult raids like maybe Thaemine and upwards. I even fondly remember sometimes where we would bus a player who didn't speak English & we would translate with google translate. This buyer ended up joining us on every consecutive raid from there forward, using us a tool to teach him and help him learn the raid, he was very kind and genuine at the end of the day we enjoyed helping him.
This is how I finally learned Kayangel, where you had to do Lasers anyway, may as well stay alive and try. I viewed the bus as a "insurance policy". After lasers, I kept trying, but if I died, I knew I could get the reward and upgrade my set anyway.
This is why they should a new player bonus for those with the mokoko symbol, for example if you clear ivory tower with a mokoko you get 3000 extra gold for the new player clear etc it would remove bus because it would be built in the new player bonus
This. Ive experienced exactly this. Tbf it's just people who feel entitled to get free busses who are upset. They dont wanna do 4hr progs and or even watch one video before raid and expect to get carried through all gates. These are the same people who flame supports who leave after 5 pulls because it's titled x10 exp fast run. There's a very big entitlement issue in the west and it's honestly very detrimental. It's crazy that people buying busses from the far east are more respectable than those in west by faaaarrr

Tencent as developer themself got the right to change the game for their own country. But they are also known for squeezing a lot of money from their users in anything. All those changes sound good for the west , but at what price China are getting them. They don't have same event as us that give them a lot of mats. From what i heard the F2P players actually really suffer from all those changes , and only the p2w can keep up.

havent played Lost ark in 7 months i have over 400,000 GOld saved up if i ever want to come back but unfortunately cant stand Raid lobbies anymore my patience had run dry with shit players so i gave up
i play both server. There are some facts behind all these decisions.
1st, Tecent is the largest shareholder of smg, they have some power to make changes.
2nd, They dont actually ban bussing, they ban advertising bussing, but they recently added afk punishment for rewards, which makes bussing nearly impossible.
3rd, There are too many rice farmers(mostly veterans from steam server) that sells gold, since RMT is not banned in CN server. The rmt gold price is already cheaper than steam server because of that. In order to compete with rice farmers, they sell tons of mats(real money) in mari shop, which makes the games way more p2w that steam server.
4th, CN server raid progression is faster than steam, at the same time no free mats, no honing nerfs.
TLDR, f2p in CN server is really really hard, its kinda impossible to reach front line group(doing 1 hm when new raid comes out) without spending real money, however, mari shop do sell everything cheaper than rmt. There is a tradition to spend lots of money in mmos in china. I believe tencent has the logic that since yall spending, yall better spend in game.
so reading these and with the raid nerf from Tencent, it looks like casual player will have a better time in China server. Raid wont bee too hard in normal mode, sure casual wont reach hm day 1 but they can have fun in normal mode.

An easy normal mode leads to some problems like players don’t respect mechs, average skill is horrible, and they don’t even use battle item like fppd in hanu . They are releasing Akkan next month, as far as I know getting a main to 1580 costs few hundred dollars. Basically it’s much more p2w than steam, even for casual players( not rice farmers)
Man i don’t understand something if someone can fill me in. It confuses me even more with changes China getting. If AGS is able to do something as insignificant as changing characters races to fit The Wests “version” why can’t they make fundamental changes to the game away from the Korean version so it fits our market and Western playerbase. For example (just throwing this out here) just completely revamp or remove chaos dungeons even tho it will stay the same in Korea or not nerfing gold gain from older content since our version needs gold badly or even removing the gold earning limit. Do AGS not have any developer power? This has been bothering me for a while and was gonna ask it in the discord but idk can’t be bothered.

Hi new player here 100% agree with what you said, I haven't been able to make any gold required for some quest/stronghold progression
Im a big fan of the bound gold approach, having the option to adjust how much tradeable/bound for raids is better for controlling economy anyway

i always told you guys this game is the worst dogwater pay2win game i have experienced out here.
litteraly if you RMT and cheat first, and get completed your big overgear characters the game THEN reward you even more with the bussing system option.
basically a "the rich get richer" situation. while the poor that have just basic 1580-1620 ilv char, get kakul and brelshaza homework gold nerf to 3k. and even more in the future coming
