This is arguably the greatest Pontiac ever built and Pontiac built tons of great muscle cars. Why more people didn't order them in blue is amazing to me. Trans Ams are gorgeous in this color.
Thanks, probably so..etc. I wanted, &;liked the “ TA s in early 1970’”s!,,,, My 1977 TA/ *SE/ *Hurst/ loaded/6.6 L: (;I ** ordered in **OCT 1976, BEFORE SMOKEY-BANDIT)was a superlative driver (* grossly underpowered , I should have at least ordered TA ENGINE, & improved it). But, I improved & built up a lot on this TA, some 16 ++ plus years driving .. Anyways, my first new car was a **1970 CORONET 500/383/4 BBL LOADED@ some $3100.00 from Dealer next -door to where I worked !! We were were in a Neighbor Situation, & budget buy :: I suspicion , if a Pontiac Dealer (* &&& a special TA RAM Available, I WOULD have figured out something..I remember the BUICK GS, JUSGES, BOSS 429**, etc were a lot more than $3000 back In The Day
Hi Dale, Happy to read "Absolutely beautiful TA." :-) If you watch the Channel longer you'll find our the Interviewer many times doesn't know what he's looking at. GOOD NEWS! I'm learning, and you will too, Lou
Hi Keith, Happy to read you enjoy the front end of this car :-) Appreciate the kind word on starting the year off in the right direction with this car :-) Lou
What an absolutely dedication to the restoration! I have always loved this generation of Trans Ams mainly because I was a teenager during these years and Trans Ams were very plentiful! I’ve never seen a Ram Air IV before, but you are absolutely correct…What a beautiful blue all the way through! Thanks Lou & Barry for a wonderful New Years Day presentation!
My thoughts exactly. What a stunning car. This really brings back memories as I remember when these were brand new. Hard to think this car is 52 years old, when Detroit was king and aids meant assistance. It's mind boggling to think how much has changed since then. Happy new year to you Lou and Barry.
my long time friend jeff peterson had one of these in the early 70s. same color outside but black interior with a 4 speed trans. he just recently passed away. this is for you my dear friend. RIP jeff.
Beautiful Trans-Am! Back in the early 1990's my friend had a 1979 Trans-Am and we cut out the Shaker scoop block off plate and made it functional and boy if that didn't open the car up to its full 1979 potential.
Hi David, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Glad to read this car brings back memories of your Friends car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Hi Dan, High praise :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing and I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this CZcams Channel, Lou
What a beautiful Trans Am! Great restoration! The interior is factory fresh. I’ve seen the Ram Air IV before but never a stripe package like that. What a wonderful caretaker for this legend. I couldn’t help but notice a similar Trans Am in the background. Looks like a great show.
I have a 1970 Formula 400, auto, red with Red interior and a white vinyl top , I will never sell it and it will stay in the family for us to show and drive and enjoy , always wisher I had bought a Trans am but they are way to expensive today for me to even think about , and I am very happy with my Formula 400
The cars for the 1970 model year, be it Chevrolet, or Pontiac, GM and Fisher Body pulled out all the stops whenever it came to style. This Trans Am example is exquisite in every single detail. This owner left no stone unturned whenever he restored it to original condition. I only wish that it had the 4 speed manual transmission like it was supposed to have. JMO.
Another great car, and a great caretaker. Here's a guy not afraid to take those extra steps to put things right again. Hats off to him (and the people at home who support him.)
Lou, you promised me a treat and really delivered. 3196 trans ams in 70, 3108 with the Ram Air III (366 hp, D port heads) and 88 RamAir IV's ( rated 370 hp, Round port heads) . This one is one of 8 autos with the RA IV. I have always loved the blue color and 70 is my favorite year in styling. Does not get any better than this. I would have ordered a 4 speed if I was old enough to get one then. I had to settle for a new red, 74 trans am with the SD-455 when I got my first car. You know, every dyno test I have ever seen on a Ram Air IV, the engine cranks out between 420 and 440 HP for the stock motor. The RA IV's and SD's were "hand selected" parts built by a single tech at the factory. Hand selected means each part weighed and hand fitted.... they could not say balanced and blueprinted, but that is basically what they did. Way to start the year out great!!!! Thanks Lou.
Thanks, Lou & Team…. a Special TA….flashback to my second New Car ; “1977 TA/ Hurst Hatch/SPECIAL ED ,loaded, “that we ORDERED in OCT 1976.!! My Family had many years of Trans Am Driving…..too.
Absolutely beautiful! The cars from that era sound so good. I pulled up to a rousch mustang awhile back and the guy was revving the engine. The exhaust sounded tinny. I thought what a shame. The old muscle cars had a sound. You could hear the horsepower! Keep ‘em comin!
A stunning resto on this car. Love the Lucy blue, over the white. The dealers didn't check off the automatic tranny block, cause most people with 2 legs prefered the stick, back then. Especially with the RAIV.

Amazing car to ring in the new year Lou.... I love that classic Pontiac nose, rims, a great spoiler, unique stripe, and classi color.... reminds me of one of my favorite Hot wheels from childhood. Thanks for featuring this one!!!!
Simply....The Trans Ams of Trans Ams. I'm happy for all that have n' take care of em' (because maybe I'll buy one from them one day? Lol wishful thinking) thank you charismatic Lou as always Sir.

Happy New Year Lou! Beautiful 50 year old Firebird. Nice!! when I was stationed in the Philippines in '75 to'77 I had a friend that had a '70 Firebird. It was dark blue. NOT a Trans-AM...Can't remember what engine the car had but it was an automatic....Thanks for posting Lou. May our Lord bless you & your family throughout this year! Thanks for posting.
I've never been a big on blue cars but I always loved the Lucerne Blue on these 70-73' 2nd gen T/A's. These are my favorite cars. I've always loved them. I would take this thing over any exotic supercar because there is no supercar this gorgeous or that sounds this good. There was one just like this in this color in the little town I grew up in parked in front of a delapidated old house with Harleys parked all around. It was an SD 455 though. I always walked by it when I was 6 or 7 years old in 77' or 78' on my way to a friends house and I would always stop and stare at it and dream it was mine. One day the owner was outside and he must have noticed that I always stopped there. He knew I loved it. He asked if I wanted to go for a ride and I said "Yes sir", I didn't care about the "Don't get in a car with strangers rule" lol....He took we for a 15 minute ride around town. I was so excited, I'll never forget it. Probably part of the reason I still like them so much. You always seem to find the cars of my childhood.

@@loucostabile Hey Lou. Have ya ever heard of a Pontiac Magnum? They were a 1 year only model built on the A-body platform and only 50 were ever built and from what I hear there is only 1 left known to still exist. I only know about it because of the now defunct 'Musclecar Review' magazine, and the guy that owns it used to race it every year at the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags' ( I don't know, maybe he still does?). But it would really be something if you could track down the guy who owns it, I would really love to see a video of that one mate!
The 1970 Pontiac Trans Am had such a cool look to it with that big wide open split grill, fender scoops, wheelwell flares, spoilers and that iconic shaker hood scoop!!! This one is stunning in blue and really cool that the firebird had not yet been on full display covering the hood, but was a nice size and tastefully depicted on the nose of the car along with the stripes. A very stunning example of the 1970 Trans Am and beautiful restoration. Happy New Year!!!
Hi TCT9MM, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you for the well wishes, and the best to you and your family too, Lou

Was there ever a more beautiful car ever built for the average motorhead? God bless John Z. DeLorean for bring us one of the greatest lines of Americana.
Wow!! The first day in 2022 and you show mee my dream car. What a wonderfull restoration and what a great typical Pontiac sound. I'm a big trans am fan, had ones a 1972 tranny, but sold it 25 years ago. Now I have a 1978, but the day I can offort me a 70 1/2-73 model I'll do it! Thanks Lou, you gave me again adrenaline💪. Yhe best wishes for 2022 and keep on coming your nice reviews. Cheers from France!
Hi Cas par, Happy to receive a "Wow!!" from you by sharing your "Dream car" :-) You're welcome. Thank you for the encouraging words. They are appreciated. Cheers, Lou
What an amazing car ,Such a beautiful color as well... I remember growing up in that era and the only colors I remember and I could be wrong that I seen was the white Orange or red and black, but I'm sure they were more... Again Great Machine... Thanks for Sharing...
When I think of Trans Am, I think of this model above all others, the beautiful 1970 model. The grill, headlights, the view of the front of the car is just outstanding and simply the best of Gen two, this '70 model. Barry is a smart man with great taste! Nicely done, Lou, and thanks. Happy New year to you both.
Beautiful Trans Am, Lou!😁😀 I have a 1:24 scale die cast model of this car in this color, Lucerne Blue, but the model is a 72 455 H. O. Version! Nice video!😁😀
In 73 my cousin had that very model.I later had a red 73 TA,& a 75 that had a ram air 4 engine transplanted. Unbelievable the rear spoiler aligns well on this 1.This was my favorite of the bunch over the original white & blue 69 & the later bandit models. The 01 ws6 were cool too.Happy new year Lou.
Happy New Year, Lou! This '70 Trans Am looks fantastic in Lucerne Blue! I agree the white stripe & black trim really sets it apart from the pack. Of course that Ram Air 400 V-8 does as well... Thanks, Lou!
Happy New Year 2022 big bro Lou!! Oh boy-this Trans Am is the stuff of dreams, man. I love these second gen F bodies. Thanks to Barry for this blue beauty. Oh man!!!!-it's like Michelle Pfeiffer teaching that English class on Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher" in 9th grade and me and Ralphie Ruocco both in our twitching tubesocked stocking feet, sneakers kicked off God knows where lol ;). These cars are so incredible Lou! Thanks big brother. :) JV Johnny
I owned a '70 from 1974 to ... white. they only produced 2100. I had a car ment for the Trans Am series . they were sold off when Pontiac ended their participation due to the big accident at Elkart...

Hi PLMCRZY67, Happy to read this is a favorite of yours :-) You're welcome, Lou
Joe Mannix had a '67 Firebird.
Pontiac hit some real home runs in the late 60's and early 70's. This owner is the right guy for this car. He knows what he has.
Hi barcrrt, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) I agree, the right Care Taker for this car, Lou
Absolutely beautiful TA. Unfortunately the interviewer didn’t quite realize what he was looking at. Ram Air IV Trans Am is god tier of collectibility

Pretty rare paint option!
Hi Jeff, Happy to read you appreciate the work to create this build. Car looks showroom new :-) Lou
The dashboard. We used to call that fish scale.

This one is stunning in blue and really cool that the firebird had not yet been on full display covering the hood, but was a nice size and tastefully depicted on the nose of the car along with the stripes. A very stunning example of the 1970 Trans Am and beautiful restoration. Happy New Year!!!

Hi Bruce H., High praise for this design :-) Happy New Year! Lou

Beautiful Trans Am, Lou!😁😀 I have a 1:24 scale die cast model of this car in this color, Lucerne Blue, but the model is a 72 455 H. O. Version! Nice video!😁😀
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car Billy :-) Glad to read you have a smaller version of this car. NICE!
Hi Richard, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Cousins car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

I found one of these on a used car lot in good condition in 1976 for $3500. I thought the price was ridiculously high. lol

Happy New Year JV Johnny! Happy to share this "dream" car with you :-) Lou

I owned a '70 from 1974 to ... white. they only produced 2100. I had a car ment for the Trans Am series . they were sold off when Pontiac ended their participation due to the big accident at Elkart...
