  • IW Hockey reviews the Wargate Lower Face Cage and Visor.
    Available at www.icewarehou...
The Wargate Lower Face Shield Cage is the ultimate addition to your hockey helmet, providing exceptional lower-face protection against facial injuries while allowing for maximum visibility and ventilation. As the pace of the game is getting faster, facial protection is key but so is visibility.
The Wargate Straight Pro-Cut Clear Visor has a professional straight-cut design and offers fantastic vision while adding protection to your face. It comes with an anti-fog and anti-scratch coating to ensure crystal clear vision all game. It is also built with CE-certified protection and is compatible with most certified hockey helmets.
Ice and Inline Warehouse offers pro shop service at warehouse prices.

I totally agree, the benefits of this Wargate cage outweigh the looks in my opinion, and the look itself is really not that bad at all! It's something new and I think as hockey players we just aren't used to it until we see more of them used.

I think it’s a great idea, just not a fan of the execution. Not sure why they had to make such a huge cage that sticks out like a medieval helmet. I mean it’s their logo maybe that’s what they were going for. But a bit more subtle and I’d be in.

mine does not bend at all. in fact it's so wide and stiff, it stretches my helmet out sideways making it unwearable. I don't know what to do, amazon won't let me return it.

Same here, the visor is too wide. I'm waiting for the cage, hope it's not the same case.

Are you not strong enough to squeeze it in a little? Could you ask your sister to try?

@rad-pt6sy I asked your mom and she managed to squeeze it in... unfortunately, our helmets stretched to our shoulders.

I feel bad for the kid on the ice with the hovercraft parents who made him wear this monstrosity ...

      A) Some leagues require full facial protection, this give a middle ground between clear vision and breathability compared to a cage or a full shield.
      B) Some people like having their teeth. My health insurance is great but I'd still rather not need to have dentures for the rest of my life nor deal with the recovery period.

@@jsquared1013 Yeah im fine with all that bud. Which is why a regular cage is completely fine. This thing is a hideous monstrosity

@@Hartwell10 hybrids give better visibility than cages 🤷‍♂. Don't see how that has anything to do with "hovercraft parents" when it's a requirement in some cases. I'm actually shopping for what to get for my helmet right now, and it probably won't be this (a hit on the lower edge could rotate the entire helmet assembly without a chin cup, and I have concerns how easy it is to get on without having a hinge to open), but I might go with one of the hybrids on the market.
For reference, I wore a cage in high school and college so I'm plenty used to it, but also enjoyed the better visibility of no cage when I was old enough for adult pickup games. That was ~20 years ago so hybrids weren't really around then; getting back into the game and want to see well without testing how good my local dentists and physicians are at facial reconstruction should an unfortunate event occur.
