Many episodes of _Ren & Stimpy_ were completely off-kilter, I think this one was truly terrifying. Every time you saw Ren produce that tormented, demented smile, you realized that the only thing keeping him from exploding in an uncontrolled orgy of gruesome mass murder was that happiness helmet ...
Kids cartoons these days: “Be kind to each other, and be a wonderful person.” Kids cartoons back in the day “I TOLD YOU I’D SHOOT, BUT YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE ME! WHY DIDN’T YOU BELIEVE ME?!?!?”
As messed up as this episode is, Ren genuinely thanking Stimpy at the end was pretty wholesome, because without Stimpy forcing Ren to be happy all the time, he wouldn't have realized what trully made him happy.
As a kid you laugh because the funny cartoons smash butts and the song sounds weird. As an adult you laugh because you listened to the lyrics, realizing this is a song about a crazy guy on a shooting rampage after he went nuts, and somehow this made it into a kids show without the censors noticing.
Us millennials grew up watching stuff like this and Rocko's Modern Life and catching reruns of Twin Peaks and people wonder why we are the way that we are.
I grew up watching this, but I also watched DuckTales. Looney Tunes. Hanna-Barbera. Rocky and Bullwinkle. Tons more. That adds up to a well-rounded youth.
I love how Ren remains happy even while he's hitting his head with a hammer... it's truly the happiest he'll ever be. So angry that his ultimate happiness is brain damage or death.
"The little critters of nature; they don't know they're ugly. That's very funny; a fly marrying a bumblebee." - Stinky Weaselteets Holy fuck, I love this cartoon.
The humor of Ren & Stimpy will always be very subjective, but nobody wirth appreciation for art could ever watch this show and call its audiovisual composition anything short of masterly.

I’ll teach your grandmother to suck eggs
I think it was a line from a Western movie, but I can’t find it.
The Big Country.
As a kid you look at Stimpy and how funny he's being. As an adult, you look at Ren, and feel concerned.
Does he need Puppy Uppers or Doggy Downers? Or maybe the new Poochy Prozac?
Very concerned
As a kid (liked the show)
As a Adult (John K Did bad you gave up)
Pretty much, at times I feel sorry for Ren and actually cheered when he unleashed all his rage on George. XD
Literally so concerned, and then you're like how the hell did the adults let us watch this shit!!! Hahahaha! Like it's makes you wonder a lil lol!

The fact that that were heavily censored is still amazing to me.
and ren was never happy talk about grinding your gears using that helmet
Oh my fucking god, I just realized that the dude is singing about how his wife cheated on him and he murdered her. Fucking hell
wait what
Really?
Edit: holy fucking shit I hear it now
How?
But ya didn’t believe me! WHHHYY DIDN’T YA BELIEEEEVE ME?! I remember we singing that part and knowing it was scary haha

"I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs!"
if anything, it's grandma that will teach you...
Now boys and girls let's try it again.
I love how he had a green housecoat on then it disappears next frame.
The kitchen counter also changed color when Ren was trying to get the hammer to destroy his mind control headset.
That's what's wrong with this? 😂 Good catch tho.
When it’s raining outside, I play Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy.
This is what I’ll listen to during this pandemic

It’s like they compressed my emotional breakdowns into a song
Ngl that's cancer
Why this show was ever allowed for children is a mystery
Fr
I think it originally aired on MTV, not Nickelodeon, ironically.
Nickelodeon knew their auidence back then
I remember it being on Nickelodeon when I was a kid, and whenever it came on, my parents would make me change the channel or turn it off.
It's like Bevis and Butthead
Ah, fond memories....this and Space Madness were two of my favorites!
They are like a bad acid trip. Watching Ren and Stimpy as an adult is a lot different 😂
Space Madness rules!

Poor Ren. Seriously. 😅 He needs a freaking break.
My favourite song of all time!
I don't like this song, it's annoying.
What about “Don’t Wizz on the Electric Fence?”
“You’re darn’ tootin’ I’m angry!”
I just want to meet the beautiful minds that created this utterly batshit INSANE cartoon. Simply a marvel to behold.
The guy who crated ren and Stimpy was an asshole to his coworkers. And a pedophile.

2:13 stimpy doing his thing with his butt.
I can hear Fry and the Professor in Billy West's voice acting lol
Yeah and in the 90s Flintstones movie. The bowling scene you can hear the intro from ren and stimpy.

Ren during this video is how I feel whenever I worked retail and we had "team building exercises" and other "mandatory fun" seminars.
"I TOLD you I'd shoot...but you didnt believe me.....WHY didn't you believe me?!"

Love that in the song, the singer admits a murder ... "I TOLD YOU I WILL SHOOT YOU... WHY YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!!!????"
Greatest line ever.
It is a line from the movie Big Country. Burl Ivis character had just shot his son
This taught a whole generation about how bad it is pretending to be happy to please others.
Big Country is my favorite western and never got the reference to it in this cartoon until I was grown.
this particular cartoon is my favorite cartoon in the history of forever and id like it playing in my head during the entire workday
Stimpy deserves every beatdown Ren uses at him. That mind control helmet is beyond scary, and it was shipped with no concern from the company!!!!
