    Fun fact: In 2008, they held a contest for animators to create a video for this track, and Tobias Stretch, who made the stop motion animation, won $10k and they used it for the music video on CZcams. Its pretty clear why he won the contest, this video is amazing!

    Some trivia: this was originally an orchestral piece written by Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead's guitar player (who's also classically trained and an Oscar-nominated film composer). There's a performance of it on CZcams from 2005, with the London Sinfonietta and Thom Yorke adding the vocals. It was then rearranged for the band setting and recorded for "In Rainbows" (2007).

    Thanks for doing the video! I’ve read people saying that one guitar is playing 3/8, another in 5/8 while the drums are a constant 4/4. Interesting how it sounds good. It has a sort of oscillating vibe. I love how Radiohead use a lot of simple layering that adds a lot of depth while remaining accessible

      @ErolReacts  Před měsícem +2

      Oh yeah, that very well could be. When you’re playing little repeated phrases like that one on top of another it makes a very interesting interplay. I’ll have to listen to that one again and see what that’s all about. Thanks.

    This song makes you feel alone, isolated but that's a normal thing for you, I don't know, it feels like you have died living a beautiful but meaningless emptiness. as if we just live our lives like that and let it be. this is the best song and the best journey in tone and emptiness. one that has deeper feelings besides Pink Floyd. 🌼

    Great experiencing this Radiohead journey with you. My recommendation is to abandon the videos. Some are great, but they are distracting from the musical experience. The only exception would be trying a few of the "From the Basement" series, because then you get to see the band playing the music live.

    • @ErolReacts

    I love that you react and also break down the song. Very nice. You have to, at some stage, after all the Radiohead songs, which will be some time, lol, react to The Smile. It's a side band involving lead singer, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner. I saw them live back in March, amazing. They're not a million miles away from the Radiohead sound but still do their own thing. I'd bet money you'll love them. They have 2 albums out now. Both great. Thank you, Erol. Keep it up.
