I was just. 7 yrs old then... This has stuck with me my whole life! I'm 63!
Me too! I'm 61 and I still remember how Great that movie was. And I still sing that song to myself
Me too!
I’m 59!
Wish it would show on tv again!
I'm 59 & I have memories of this version after all these years.🥰
I was 3 when it came out. Lesley Ann Warren will always be my Cinderella. Great songs!
I remember !!
This Is my favorite version of Cinderella!! I like the 1957, 1997 and 2015 versions but this is just wonderful.
The 1997 version is the BEST
I tend to agree. They are all good, but this version has a charming simplicity that is hard to beat, along with the best supporting cast and an absolutely radiant Lesley Ann Warren.
I’m a 90’s baby but I prefer the 1957 original for Julie Andrews alone
She proves that because you are in a bad and horrible situation, we can't let our dreams nor our goals be destroyed
I was 5 years old when I saw this in 1965. Never forgot how enthralled my older sisters were with this song. I'm now 60 years old and the song popped into my head again... So here it is. Amazing!
Me too here for the same reason
Well, today Prince Charming died at the age of 84 so here I am revisiting the musical at the age of 68 (in August) and this was a favorite song from the show. I also had to hear the step sister's lament. This is one of my favorite memories from that period of time.
My exact same story. I'm 63.
i’m only 16 and I love it too!!
I was 10 and have loved Leslie Ann Warren ever since. I once crossed the street and faced her and just gushed how I loved her work and especially In My Own Little Corner. She was a bit surprised but smiled at the mention of that song from 40 years ago at that time.
I think in some ways we underestimate the power and message this song conveys
Despite abuse and cruelty; she stays kind. That she uses what skills and mental capacity she has to escape her predicament and stay alive until better times come along.
That takes grit and determination.
Tough to find a story like that in this day and age!
Sigh
I woke up with this song in my head this morning and had to search for it to listen once again! I’m 66 and remember being so enthralled with Cinderella when it was on t.v. I haven’t seen it in color until just now!
She’s so cute💕
She made a great Cinderella💖
It was always so exciting when this was replayed on TV. I'm not sure how old I was the first time I saw it, I was young and I kept watching until they stopped showing it. I thought Lesley Anne Warren was so beautiful with her big brown eyes. She'll always be my Cinderella.
I was only 4 or 5 when I first saw this, but I too thought Lesley Ann Warren was the prettiest girl I had ever seen.
I was 5 in 1965. This was my song.
This movie has stayed in my heart since I first saw it as a child ❤
I remember this like if it yesterday,I was 5 years old …miss my younger life ty Lord❤
This is the best version of Cinderella ever. It's been my favorite for 37 years now.
Loved this when I was just a girl, and love this as a gramma, today. ♥️♥️♥️🌈🦋
So beautiful
This is my inside song at all times… thank you R&H, THANK YOU LESLIE!!!
This was so well-done. Just classic.
It’s so unbelievable that I remember the words to this song, and I was only 4 years old! But don’t ask me what I ate for dinner 2 days ago, LoL😂😅😊
There's something very magical about this and the whole story that makes it as durable as Romeo and Juliet. I do believe that Rodgers and Hammerstein nailed it.
I grew up with this version of cinerdella, I’m 33! 😊
Beautiful job by the charming, touching Lesley- the song still resonates for anyone who's ever felt like an outcast or introverted, so just about everyone can relate to Cinderella's plight here.
I’m an autistic ambivert
I’ve always loved this song! Especially with the playful lyrics. That and combining with soaring melodies are why Rogers and Hammerstein are THE gold standards of musical storytelling!
I’m 36 and I loved this version as a child. I just thought of this movie and this song. The words mean differently now. In my own little corner, is my time with Jesus. Being lost, and found by the lion, the king. I seen him in the clouds a couple years back. Having marriage issues, and I kept saying I don’t want a godless marriage. And I seen him with his arms out. A quick second. I looked down to grab my phone for a picture to look back on, but was gone. It’s still vivid in my mind. I know what I saw. I wasn’t saved at the time. But I distanced from a lot. Friends, family, social media. And started reading the Bible, searching god. I’ve not been the same since that day. I got baptized last year, going to church more often, praying with my kids. I got a fight or flight feeling the end of 2019 right before COVID. I’ve had dreams of slaying giants, and a dragon. 7visions, a Phoenix, eclipse or red moon, Statue of Liberty, Star of David, scales, a vision of going up these gold escalators stairs that were golden sunflowers along the side, and lastly while breastfeeding my baby at the time, a vision of a scroll being opened. All these before I started to read the Bible again. Was even more amazed after reading samuel, revelation and understanding we are in the times Timothy 2 describes. Even so come. Believe in your heart Jesus died for your sins, and rose again. Be humble and of a changed mind, and heart. Do not be confound to this world, and think bigger, of eternity. What truly matters. Praying that every heart turns to the one and only true way.
Amen
I believe you saw him too!
I grew up watching this version with my Mom and sister. It wasn't until about 5yrs ago that I found out there was an earlier version starring Julie Andrews. The older version is my favorite! I still like this one. In this version the guy who plays the prince is the same guy who played Alan Quartermaine on General Hospital.
And in the original version, the prince is the same guy who played Chief Daniel's on "Hill Street Blues."
I watched the 90’s Brandy version first then ten years later found the Julie Andrews live production
My favorite love this ❤!!!
My favorite musical!!!
They should show this on the big screen...shows would be packed.....
This is the version that came out when I was 5.. It was major event television.
I used to love this version when I was little!
Great memory of watching this as a special on tv . Always in my head .
Linda Gill me too 63 now we were just talking about this at work she was so beautful

Strange I woke up thinking of this movie so I found it so nice miss my mommy n sister.n my home ..good time as a child ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lo amos muchos las versiones de Cenicienta ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I first watched this as a little girl when it was broadcast on tv. This song was always stuck in my head, even though I only saw it a few times! I bought the DVD for my own daughters and enjoyed it all over again.
I was 10 years old in 1965 when I first saw this. Still love this! My children hate it because I made them watch it so much! How to get back at your kids....just saying! LOL (Did I say that I bought a copy of this years ago and still have it ??!!)
Sounds like a personal problem. Our mother made us watch this in 1965, and we definitively didn't hate it!
Wow. I haven't seen this since the 90s.
as a 19 year old this was my cinderella
my first crush
You feckin weirdo
In this version, Cinderella (played by Lesley Ann Warren) sings "In My Own Little Corner" when her wicked stepmother (played by Jo Van Fleet) is furious that she disobeyed her and opened the door to strangers while she and her wicked stepsisters (Pat Carroll and Barbara Ruick) were away that she punishes her for it by sending her to her corner until she's called.
You would never guess that is the same actress who played Miss. Scarlett on Clue. 😁
I was literally saying this at an audition for Clue a couple of nights ago. Lol!
oh wow! i knew her name sounded familiar
♥️Leslie
God, probably haven't seen this in fifty years.
I just heard the beginnings of this song early this a.m. and listened to it right now 10/15/2022😂😂😂😂💗💗💗MEMORIES 💋
This is mine. My dad loved her. 😭
I'm in my own little corner in my own little chair now baby momma style
❤️❤️❤️❤️
My grandma made me watch this movie but I loved it when I watched it and ever since that I have listened to the songs on my music 🥰 Mine and my grandmas favorite is the sisters lament but I also love this song. Btw when I watched it it was like 2019 and I’m 13 now😂😂😂😂😂
Such a sad, sad song.
I still sing this..
I'm not ashamed to say that I do too... and I'm male.
I was 6 it was great memory
❤
Sing this daily
It's odd... Leslie doesn't have nearly the voice of Julie Andrews, and yet she totally dominates this song compared to Ms. Andrews.

"and the world will open its arms to me."
Me: Yeah if covid never happened.
Your savage level on 100 😂
Sad as I am, I find some solace in this song. Though I find it ironic if not depressing that I have had to sing this song to myself since I was about eight. Right, right, somebody will tell me, "you brought on yourself". Yes, I am a coward, it was the only way to survive, my only achievement and that is very questionable as to its worth.
Room clean 🧼 up my
Does anybody remember what this actress name is

You think this is something then you need to watch the black Cinderella Brandy kills this song well shoot the whole performance
Cinderella was white.
@@waynemizer4912 um
I agree! That was my childhood.
@@waynemizer4912 I don’t believe the source material mentioned skin tone in regards to Cinderella
They are both great in their own way, I think. Brandy absolutely knocked it out of the park, for sure.
Theme song of us schizoids fer shure!
The fact this is Tina from will and grace kills me.
Cinderella, you need ritalin
>lol
I'm sorry but Brandi did it better. especially the "lioness in her lair" referring to her step-mother
Not possible.
Agreed
Yes, I agree. This Cinderella's voice is a bit shrill, and it's not my style. But she has talent.
Brandi had the sass, attitude, and flair. Julie had gracefulness and glamor, and Leslie has the folk/ fairy tale vibe, and the best portrayal of a young lady confused and overwhelmed in the situation. But each version was show casting a different take. I’m not the biggest fan of Leslie’s voice, but her acting is great, and she plays the stereotypical Cinderella role (mild/meek/etc.) the best. It depends on what you want out of the show.
When it comes to childhood nostalgia, that doesn’t matter much. She could sound like utter shit and I’d still prefer Leslie Ann Warren.
Yuck 🤢
