I was there at the time filming for TumYeto (though I didn't film this run I was sat on the top of the roll-in next to Dan Cates) - the maddest thing was Penny literally turned up 5 minutes before this run hung over AF & missed the warm-up session completely... he sketches out a few times because he had literally done like 2 ollies on the spot and a stretch before his run...
no way really? Penny is the shit. He really took skating for fun in a new direction. All the other skaters were all worried and shit and he doesn't even care :) It's just about the boarding for him. He might be the greatest of all time. For sure the greatest 90's skater and early 2000's skater. He was super good like in 2005. Watching him skate the Krew skatepark in 2005 was like life changing for me.
Just stoned. I know quite a few stories about penny though. Supposedly that one footer in menikmati over the rail was a shroom sesh. Also the switch tail on that one rail in LA was done because he had a shroom vision of landing that switch tail so he wanted to live out his vision. Then there's the the story about a bunch of heads skating a warehouse mini ramp and while Penny was skating the lights cut out and it was pitch black, but Penny kept skating and all anyone could hear was the sound..... When the lights came on he was in mid frontside flip! he was skating completely on feeling and didn't need his sight at all. Amazing huh. Also the kick flip over the LA stadium rail in one of his old parts was on some random kids board. He was drunk a f and asked some kid to barrow his board and kick fliped over that huge 10 stair rail 2nd try, then he gave the board back and headed back to the bar !! That's just a few of many stories I have heard by fans.

definitely Henry here. Love the look all these pros gave him. Definitely recognised that he was beyond talented and clearly redefining skateboarding

Henry and Tom were gods when I was a teenager. I'm age 46 now and still love skate videos. I skated Embarcadero in the 90s
