    Thanks Marie. Love your presentation. Not sure how you find the time to make thoughtful and accurate presentations. Kudos to you for building the community.
    I would add using a slab mat while using your slab roller. I’ve incorporated this into my “tool set” as it reduces the grain marks from my canvas.

      Wow, thank you Janet! Yes that is a great tip. I did think of that one. My friend uses a slab mat and really likes it. 💖

    I have a question…can we color the clay before fired?! If the clay is completely dry??
    Or what is the full process after the clay is dry?!
    And your channel is really helpful❤❤❤❤❤

    • @PotteryCrafters
      @PotteryCrafters  Před měsícem

      Thank you! Very good question. Yes you can underglaze it the same as you would if it were bisque fired. Just be mindful that the clay is at it's most fragile state and be careful when handling it. I think you may find this post helpful potterycrafters.com/applying-underglaze-on-greenware-vs-bisqueware/ 💖

    I want to make jewelry but I don't know which clay to pick. Someone mentioned white B-Mix low firing clay.

    • @PotteryCrafters
      @PotteryCrafters  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, Laguna B-Mix Cone 06 Clay is a choice and shrinkage rate only 5% 😊

  • @takisdemi898
    @takisdemi898 Před 6 měsíci +1

    What exactly does the hold at the end do? Eg if it is 5' or 10' minutes?

    • @PotteryCrafters
      @PotteryCrafters  Před 6 měsíci

      That is a very good question. The 5 minute hold ensures the kiln is a the same peak temperature before shutting down. The 10 minute hold ensure the same peck temperature and also helps the glaze to heal.
      A cone 5 with a 20 minute hold does the same plus is equal to a cone 6 firing. I will do a cone 5 with a 20 minute hold when I want the glaze to flow more. 😊

    • @takisdemi898
      @takisdemi898 Před 6 měsíci

      @@PotteryCrafters some glazes run too much as a result of which it reaches the base and the ceramic sticks. I had a 10' hold at 1210 celsius and took it down 1990C to a 5' hold. I use amaco, mayco glazes.
      Thank you for responding!

      That's smart to make the adjustments you need. Happy Glazing!
