also, this song is about lord of the rings, and the ravens are important birds in middle earth, especially to the dwarves, as shown in 'the hobbit' when the dwarves send for help by talking to the ravens and sending them to thorin's cousin, dane.
This song reminds me why I like Blind Guardian so much. The progressive influence from Queen is quite notorius, but it has an identity of its own, plus the heaviness and the speed of the metal they do. Hail Guardian!

Just pointing something out, 1:09 - 1:15 sound almost identical to part of the beginning oh Utsuho's theme in Touhou: Subterranean Animism, and then a raven is mentioned. Utsuho is actually a hell raven. I'm sure it's not intentional, but I just wanted to make sure someone else would know.

Couldn't reply to the specific comment for some reason (probably because it's too old), but you said something about Kai Hansen doing all of the vocals on the song "Lost In The Twilight Hall". This is not true. Hansi did most of them. There is a brief part, however, early in the song where Hansi and Kai are trading lyrics back and forth, and it ends with Kai hitting an impossibly high note. I believe this part is the bridge leading into the first chorus. It starts with the line "I see planets dying.."

This song is amazing! I just wonder why they ended it like that? My parents, if I'm trying to get them to like BG, always end up walking in on one of the weird parts of their songs... Like the end of this song, or the start of Traveller in Time... Damnit! My dad thinks they suck... The bastard!

I actually heard a good arguement that this is about Dragonlance, more spefically the War of the Lance. For instance, Caladon was a forest in the Dragonlance universe.

+Felix Nilbog I hate to say it but I believe illegal downloads in this case are justified, assuming that you pay to see them live (you'll be doing yourself a favor there anyway) and purchase their albums when you have the opportunity to do, especially at a reasonable price. iTunes and Amazon are your friends in most cases, but there are some albums that are hard to find at a decent rate.
+Felix Nilbog I would say roughly 90% of my music collection is from online shopping as there aren't really a lot of decent music stores near where I live that sell more than just mainstream stuff. Amazon is usually a pretty good site or the official record label websites.

down in the wood "Caladon" - Caladon is a place, a forest I think, in the Dragonlance universe.
'Somebodies out in the night
I fly in time' - Caramon and Tas going back in time to save Raistlin.
And "The Last Candle" is a chapter in the third Dragonlance book, I think, where Riverwind and Goldmoon lights a candle in a dark room.
And by the way, Kai doesn't sing all the vocals on LITTH, Hansi sings too.
