To be honest, something I get conflicting feelings about is whether the intent of the Truth segment is to make it seem more like an accident or a murder. From what I can tell it puts Sunny and Basil in a weird position where Sunny doesnt really seem like he has any intent of killing Mari or of covering up her death, but where Basil could potentially be tried as an adult. Was OMOCAT trying to get me to feel like Sunny and Basil did somrthing terrible together, or that Sunny got in an accident and Basil did something terrible on his own?
Ive always wanted to hear a lawyer's perspective of this game, and this just makes me want to hear even more.

There's no proof that Sunny helped hanging mari. Even without scrapped text album. You can't see him in photos while basil hang her.
but tahst just how sunny imagines it the photos arent real its just how he thinks basils perspective would be like and only basil knew how to tie a noose since thats how you make a flower crown since mari had taught him before but he couldnt lift up a 15 year old girls dead body so sunny did help him with lifting her up

In one of the photos you see basil shaking sunny and another photo showing sunny grabbing Mari legs and basil holding her head dragging her down the staircase and into the backyard. Now this photo is different than the one where sunny was holding Mari head and basil was holding Mari legs and dragging her up to the bedroom. There’s no way basil could have dragged a 16 year old corpse at the age of 12 to the backyard alone. there’s a reason why Mari says “you’ll forgive yourself won’t you?” So yes sunny did help fake Mari’s death

Given that OMORI likely takes place in New York State, here are the charges if I were the judge presiding these:
1. Sunny is Guilty of involuntary manslaughter & also, Sunny & Basil is guilty of tampering with evidence. Maximum Sentence: 19 years in prison for Sunny, 15 years for Basil. Given sentence to Sunny and Basil: 1 year in prison with parole & early release for good behavior.
2. Aubrey is Guilty of possession of an illegal weapon(4th degree)- Aubrey’s Sentence: 1 year in jail.
3. Sunny is Not Guilty of possession of an illegal weapon as the type of knife Sunny is carrying is completely legal(lol). Also, Sunny is innocent by Self-Defense of battery/assault as Aubrey’s illegal weapon justifies Sunny’s use of his knife. No sentence given as a result.
4. Aubrey, Kel & Sunny are all Guilty of disturbing the peace in the church. Sentence: Exactly 1 hour in jail. Yep, 1 hour. No more, no less.
5. Angel, Van, Kim and The Maverick are all Guilty of disturbing the peace(and they started the fight). Sentence: 1 day in jail.
6. Sunny, Kim and Van are Guilty for misdemeanor stealing. Sentence given: Value of stolen goods.
7. Sunny is Guilty of using pepper spray illegally. However, he is innocent as it was used in self-defense. No sentence given.
8. Sunny and Basil are Not Guilty by Insanity. A trip to a mental treatment center to treat their(likely) PTSD is the only thing that will happen.
