With one trailer this has become one of my most anticipated movies of the year. It's such a cool idea that I think has a ton of potential, and if what we've seen is anything to go off of then Chris Nash is pulling this one off. May 31st can't come quick enough!
Keep in touch

Thank you for stopping by Rocklin Graves. Keep an eye out for videos every week! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I saw this movie yesterday in the Fribourg film festival. It is pretty amazing, cool concept, brilliant ending. Possibly better than the entire friday the 13th franchise. Forget about Victor Crowley, this movie revisiting the slasher codes in is own and unique way. I really hope that they choose Chris Nash to Direct the next friday the 13th. I think you will enjoy this movie a lot!
Big big words…. man you’re getting me more hyped up haha! Thanks for your thoughts
I hope the film will live up to your expectations, but the way you talk about the trailer... the atmosphere is here, the vibes are here, i bet you will love it.
Cinematography looks great in this film. Can't wait to see it hope it doesn't disappoint.
Dude lucky now you got me even more excited
“Direct the next Friday the 13th”
We are getting another f 13th sequel?
This is what happens when fridaythe13th lawsuit takes too long, a director said you know what ? I’ll make my own Jason movie, and I can’t blame them .
It's nice to see someone doing something different with a slasher. Atmosphere is very important to slashers; it's one the main reasons Halloween is still the king of slasher films.
100%
F-13th
@@RocklinGravesGreat review, you've got me excited for this. I'm old enough to have grown up on the OG Halloween and Friday the 13ths... This looks to branch out from both of those family trees, but in it's own way.
Looks like a well-shot movie too... If nothing else, the visuals, lighting and camera work seem really well done.
I'm happy for almost ANYTHING that isn't another superhero CGI-fest, or more garbage from Disney.
Also... Whereabouts in Canada do you think this is? (I'm in Texas, never been to Canada... beautiful country!)
This movie was shot in Ontario!
@@RocklinGraves That explains everything.
*Looks interesting. I always wondered what Jason or Michael did when they're not chasing ppl. Imagine Jason grabbing a beer between kills lol*
I wonder what his go to beer is
@@RocklinGraves Definitely corona
The perfect summer beer. The man’s got taste
Thats why i liked the 2009 remake, aside from jason's look and the actor who did him, Derek, did super well and that all worked. It showed some of what went on in between kills at times
Honestly that over the shoulder shot of the killer just walking through this lush forest in the middle of a beautiful, sunny day is way more creepy to me than it has any right to be. It being set in broad daylight in such an idyllic setting should take away from the scariness, but to me it surprisingly does the exact opposite. Maybe it's because i grew up in a village in a forest Region. I spent much of my childhood and teenage years going on extended forest walks, hikes, and jogs. It was always the perfect recreation for me, a way to calm myself down and just enjoy nature. The idea of this killer being in those woods at the same time, without being scared to be caught or seen is really eery. This is q time of day when people tend to feel save, as did I in those forests. The idea of it not being save despite of the daytime and a monster stalking you from the bushes turns this setting on its head and makes it really scary. The day progression seems like a brilliant way to heighten the stakes and the dread too: If the daytime part of the movie is scary already and if the characters in the forest have reason to be scared in broad sunlight already, how scared will you have to be when you're still in those forests, alone, in the dark, at night?
I agree ... It's not just "monster in the woods" stuff. It's beautiful, sunny, and well-shot footage. It could be in a commercial for an SUV, or camping gear, with a nice comforting Sam Elliot voiceover.
That makes the monster/man even more 'wrong' and out of place. Definitely interested in this.
We really are in a Renaissance of slashers. I feel like I keep hearing about slasher films getting made. Once I get out of the 80s era of the genre, I’m going to see some modern ones to catch up.
Like playing as the killer from behind him,via a video game
This feels like a video game. Interesting concept!
When I first saw the trailer I thought it was a new Friday the 13th I was so excited because it actually looked good💀still gonna go see it and possibly pretend its Jason.
I saw this trailer for the first time today when I saw Late Night with the Devil.
It looked very interesting. I’m looking forward to it.
Btw Late Night with the Devil is great everyone.
Shudder is putting out some good stuff.
I saw the trailer during a screening of stop motion (an absolutely amazing movie that I knew nothing about going into it) about a month ago. Never heard of this or anything about it, and the trailer was incredible. Glad you noticed it too
im actually so excited ! i love good stills and pretty vibey movies and i love slashers sm. yas
Same! Can’t wait
love how dark the movie looks..even during the daytime it has this eerie shadow light
Such a cool idea, looking forward to reviewing this one too
YESSIR MY DOSE OF JASON, BUT THIS IS A COOL NEW CONCEPT TO HORROR
Gorgeous review, by an absolutely adorable and efficient critic/presenter.
I seen and shared the trailer and also am super excited for this movie
Terrifier 3, In A Violent Nature and Alien romulus are my most highly anticipated horror movies!
You make me more interested in watching slasher movies (I tend to like haunted house movies best, or movies like skinamarink), so I think I might give this one a try!
That actually looks *extremely* intriguing! Slashers are always a good time, especially if they're done with the graceful shlock that made Friday the 13th so great.
And YOU'RE CANADIAN?!?!! That's cool, I live in Ontatio. Hit me up if you're ever searching for writers of some sort lol.
Graceful shlock is a perfect way to describe a well made the best Friday the 13th movies. I’m not the biggest fan of the series, but graceful shlock describes the Final Chapter and Jason Lives really well
I can dig it man...
like The Prey 1980...Friday The 13th...and this film...blended...coolness man...
I can't wait for this film it looks amazing. What would blow my mind is if this one of those single shoot movie witch would be amazing
Wow no score like how no country for old man did
Was talking about this one in Reddit, but the premise really reminds me of the GoPro segment in VHS2 with the zombies, and seeing it through their POV. This could be cool. I just hope the acting is decent because it sure looks low budget.
That was such a cool segment. Also yes this is low budget, but it doesn’t look like they’re doing anything that would require a big one thankfully
Me and my brother are so hyped for this.
along with late night with the devil Shudder is KILLING IT
this and Cuckoo are my two most anticipated horror movies for the rest of 2024
I don't scare easily. Or maybe, something scares 99% of people, but not me... on the flip side, something DOESN'T scare 99% of people, it does scare me.
This trailer was about 13 seconds in, and I just said out loud, "oh THIS IS CREEEE-PEEEE..."
But then I said "jeez this is low quality," so I guess I saw the bootleg one u mentioned hahaha
Sooooo I watched it again, the official one...
"....ugh... yeah.. this is scaring the PEEEE-PEEEEE outta me...."
I am probably going to struggle with this one 😂😂
My GF and I are quite stoked for this.
Saw it last night. Remain stoked
SHUDDER is killing it.
Canadian Slashers - You forgot Terror Train
I didn’t forget about it I just don’t own a copy of it
Such an interesting idea, as a horror movie fan I'm so excited for this one! As someone who's planning to live on a rural Canadian homestead... I'm rethinking the next 5 years 🤣
Good luck….
the trailer really strikes me as a lovechild of Friday the 13th series and Malevolence/Berivement series
It's me. I'm the target audience. I can't wait lol
Ooh deffo one on the to-watch-list! I pray it comes to a cinema in my hometown! The trailer is brilliant!
I like how this movie just takes what works, its obvious where its inspiration comes from but does it super simple and puts its own spin on it then does that well. For years so many games and movies and books tried to reinvest the wheel and be so original and it just doesn't work and ends up catering to no one. Once in a while you're get a unique gem but its quickly forgotten other than maybe referenced after the fact. Even the quick cut of him sitting down against a tree i guess taking a rest is so neat. Ever since you see jason's shack in f13 part 2 you always wonder the nuance to that type of character. The more human real sort of things that would happen between when he would be teleporting between kills. And hopefully this film shows all of those in-betweens
This could be really good or just really boring if we see the killer walking in a forest and killing people sometimes on the way, we could have some nothingness for 10 minutes and more. Longlegs looks better imo but this could also be a good one
Longlegs looks great too. Very different movies
@@RocklinGravesLet's see, we have some promising horror films this year, I hope that Longlegs, Alien : Romulus and this one will be a good watch. I'm not concerned about Terrifier 3 we already know this will be a banger 😂
I can already tell, you probably won't like this movie. There, I saved you 90 minutes. You're welcome. 😏
@@ChucksCherubs3 It depends, I will watch it that's for sure. I've already watched a one take indie movie of 2 hours where there were murders in a small camping town in the forest I've watched in a theater with my class I can't remember the title. I thought it had some pretty good ideas but the pacing was the issue, following one person during the whole movie is a good concept but it needs tension and purpose, if this movie can deliver it this will be a great watch.
Definitely a breath of fresh air in the genre.
I would prefer if they don’t go too much into detail about what the monster is, let our brains come up with our own interpretation, makes it more interesting.
Same honestly
I watched some content of ppl that already seen it. Said it was good, in the killers perspective. A little slow though...
Johnny is a menace! This movie has one of the goriest kills ever!!
I cannot wait
Looks like a feature length version of that one shot scene from Halloween 2018. Could be interesting
When you're a Friday The 13th but you don't have permission to make a Friday The 13th movie.( & I don't mean that as something negative)
This literally looks awful lol. It’s a film that’s all gimmick. And what’s frightening and interesting exactly about making the killer’s perspective the primary focus, and not allowing the audience to attempt to identify with the victims whatsoever. The WORST and most toothless horror films tend to be the ones that have zero interest in creating a true sense of dread by neglecting any character building whatsoever.
I often say that Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant” is the scariest film I’ve ever seen, despite it not being a tradition horror film. Much of that film directly follows the columbine-esque school shooters in long tracking shots as they carry out their shooting. But those moments are only as effective as the time Van Sant spends giving us a slice of life taste of the films victims first, which he does dedicate a lot of time to beforehand.
What’s compelling about the setup is the tone of the movie. This is absolutely gonna be a divisive movie as I talked about, and if it’s not for you that’s totally cool. I love the tone, I love the setting, I love the visuals, and I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t think a slasher NEEDS to develop characters to work, I think it needs to develop one element really well and get it’s hooks in that way, and if they commit to the atmosphere and pull off strong kill sequences then yeah I’m more than sold on this one
it's Friday the 13th
I’ve never seen an F13 movie that followed the killer’s perspective and focused almost entirely on atmosphere, but I’d be there for it if it did. This looks different enough
It looks like a clone of every other Jason rip off.
No it doesn’t. That’s literally the entire reason why this movie’s getting more attention. It looks like something INSPIRED by F13 but taking it in a fresh direction
@@RocklinGraves We'll see. It's not like the movie industry has ever lied to you before.
Why assume it will though? It’s fun to get excited about things, and it’s important to celebrate and draw attention to indie filmmakers trying to give a spin on things. I’m not just gonna assume everything’s gonna have dishonest marketing and be a disappointment. I love the genre too much to do that
@@RocklinGraves That may have been true 15 years ago, but this is 2024. You almost have to be skeptical.
Skeptical is one thing, pessimistic is another. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but I also don’t want to assume the worst about anything. I like to give everything a chance
I will watch this...but it looks very unoriginal, imo. Looks like a rip off of the Friday 13th franchise, imo. Nothing unorthodox about it tbh. Just my opinion.
4:19 was curious big time on that too. Left a lot of questions on some of the trailer's pages where it was featured. Like...who's shack is that? who was he alive? What's his back story? why is he killing? and of course what does he look like? will he get another mask? is there ANY hope of a sequel *probably not movies like this are cool once around and i no doubt will want to see more but it just gets watered down maybe but...then again terrifier 2 is absolute gold
Concept is cool as hell! And the trailer certainly has me hyped.
Fully with you!
