It looks amazing! My one hesitation is that some parts of the ship seem to a bit difficult for people with sensory issues, certain types light sensitivity, ocular migraines. The accent lighting around the mirrors and accent shelving in the cabin seems a bit much and the pearl lighting is a lot, tbh even the thermal spa lighting seems a bit much. Central Park and the outdoor venues look amazing but some of the indoor lighting makes me a tad nervous - hoping it is more subdued in person. 🤷🏻♀️

We are curious on kids as well as there are specific neighborhoods built for kids and hence other areas truly built for adults… we shall test it out and report back in our Cruise Review after the Maiden Voyage! 😉
I stayed in one of those deck 16 suites in May and staying in another one in a month or so and I thought the Suite Sun Deck and Coastal Kitchen was soooo nice to have! For me, it made the trip! Great tour by the way!

There is one larger pool with Royal Bay Pool. Swim and Tonic would be considered more of a medium size pool in our opinion. Cove Pool and Cloud 17 are both small. Hideaway is medium but has a wading pool vibe. 🏊🏽♂️

Hey guys, we were on the Inaugural with you on Icon. My wife Mima and I will be going back on the Icon in August. Taking our 8 yr old grandson. I remember back in Jan when we were on Icon seeing a little 2 person soccer game where two people sat and faced each other. There was a small soccer ball and each were basically sitting on the goal. kicking the ball to score against the opponent. I do not know where I saw that and was hoping i would see it on your tour. One of the things we like to know is if there is any ‘secret’ or hidden decks that most cruiser guest never find. They are usually at the fore or aft on one of the floors. Did you notice anything like that? (Added later: maybe I missed you visiting The Overlook. It seems it is on 2 floors & behind the AquaTheater. One is called Overlook Pods)
Yes! The Overlook is Gorgeous and behind the AquaShow with forward views during the day. It’s definitely a hidden gem! Cloud 17 surprisingly enough also felt rather forgotten by people which is great! Hopefully that stays that way with more people on the ship! 😅
Oh! And for drinks, 1400 Lobby Bar is one we think many will not try until late in the cruise… which is funny because it’s right where people enter on embarkation day/in the heart of the ship. 😂
@@JJCruise yes thanks. I’m an explorer when on a ship & can usually find secluded decks. They’re usually in front of the theater where one would walk up to the stage then scoot around a ‘secret walkway’ that leads to parts unknown (the chapel / wedding space is sometimes there too). Or on a deck utilized for cabins that’s still high enough might have a secluded small overlook with a big heavy door you need to yank open then the wind sucks it back closed. Good for Alaska glacier viewing or Panama Canal
It looks like they pulled a lot of ideas from Celebrity Edge class! The champagne like hot tubs, the swings in the suite area like the "Retreat", the infinite balconies and even the murals in the suite area like on Beyond's Sunset Bar area! I know they are sister companies...but really?!😂 We always stay in suites. We've been doing Edge class last 3 cruises, Edge & Beyond 2x. We like having next to no kids on board. We have done Oasis class in Grand suites & even Owner's Suites. Icon is way overpriced for a Grand suite, like triple what we would normally pay!😳 They finally do a nice job for the suites outdoor area like Celebrity, but oh my the price. Thank you for a fantastic tour though.😊

Royal missed the mark with not having larger dedicated adults only spaces. No Solarium, only the Hideaway??! That Hideaway area is NO WHERE NEAR big enough, and that’s the only space to escape all the kids?? In my opinion, the Swim and Tonic should also be dedicated as adults only! Who wants kids splashing pee water in your drink while you’re trying to enjoy it and relax? Kids do NOT belong around a bar! I really hope Royal corrects these misses on future Icon class ships. I’ll wait to see before I spend that kind of money to be stuck around tons of kids.
We actually believe this area is much larger than any Oasis Class Solarium. The pool alone is huge compared to what are on any of the other ships. (Harmony doesn’t even have an adults pool) With Surfside and Category 6 separate neighborhoods for families and kids, we actually believe adults can get away quite easily. We shall see on the Maiden Voyage next week as we are just as curious as you! 😅

I will never go back to the spa. They took my sea pass and then tried to high pressure me to buy what I didn’t want. Two ladies pressuring and talking to me at the same time. Worse experience ever on a cruise ship.

We know for sure Espresso Martinis are available at Rye and Bean in AquaDome with deluxe drink package. (Not sure on Pearl Cafe menu options but assume as long as they can make it, it’s included in Deluxe Package. 😊

A very good and informative video. Saw everything in detail so thank you! Initially very impressive ship, but upon further investigation, LNG versus marine fuel doesn't seem an environmentally wise choice for RC. Also, the colours! I love colour, but man, the vibrancy is OVERKILL!! And, views of the cabins show very weird carpeting and shower tiling. Looks like someone threw bleach all over the place. Not for me!
Guys. This was an outstanding walkthrough and tour. Thanks so much. You showed Playmakers then the ⛸️ rink. But Don said you have to walk through Playmakers to get to it. Is it walking through it or in front of it? Schooner my fav. If I commented on each deck it would be ridiculous. Hope to sail the Icon one day. Thanks again. 🤗
The one thing I don't like about the whole cruise experience is the fact that you have to pay for a ticket to get on the ship, and then you have to pay extra to enjoy half the restaurants and other places like the spa. You have to pay extra for beverages and tokens to play in the arcade, and there were several other things you had to pay extra for. I think that everything, except the items in the stores, should come with the price of admission. I forgot what it was that cost an extra $200 a person, but that is ridiculous. Almost $13.00 for a drink? come on.
These ships have enough included that even without the extras, no one will go bored or hungry! Everything is included on some cruise lines, but the trade off is that the prices are way higher. Personally, I would rather add on the extras I actually want to pay for than pay an overall higher fare for things I won’t even use!
@@vvvvalerie I see what you are saying. Instead of including everything for a really expensive ticket, you get to pick the packages you want. I didn't look at it that way. I guess that does make sense now that I think about it.

Also I believed you walked right past the CEO of Royal Caribbean Group Jason Liberty just past Giovanni’s Table (00:52:52) That would’ve been interesting if he would do a quick “stop & chat” for your channel. E Unsolicited tip… Definitely invest in a higher quality gimbal, way too much bounce, especially when viewing on a 42” & larger screens.
Icon is out of Miami, but Star of the Seas is the second cruise ship in the Icon Class available for booking for 2025 sailings out of Port Canaveral! 🥳
This is definitely a family oriented ship. Is there a babysitting service? It IS the destination. There’s no need to go anywhere just float around the ocean.
Adventure Ocean is the kids center that is open throughout the day for kids to meet each other and hang out under crew supervision while the parents can go play! 😉

You have to walk through both a gift shop and playmakers to get to Absolute Zero. It’s not bad but could be on busy game days. 😅

The one thing I don't like about the whole cruise experience is the fact that you have to pay for a ticket to get on the ship, and then you have to pay extra to enjoy half the restaurants and other places like the spa. You have to pay extra for beverages and tokens to play in the arcade, and there were several other things you had to pay extra for. I think that everything, except the items in the stores, should come with the price of admission. I forgot what it was that cost an extra $200 a person, but that is ridiculous. Almost $13.00 for a drink? come on.
These ships have enough included that even without the extras, no one will go bored or hungry! Everything is included on some cruise lines, but the trade off is that the prices are way higher. Personally, I would rather add on the extras I actually want to pay for than pay an overall higher fare for things I won’t even use!
@@vvvvalerie I see what you are saying. Instead of including everything for a really expensive ticket, you get to pick the packages you want. I didn't look at it that way. I guess that does make sense now that I think about it.

Icon is out of Miami, but Star of the Seas is the second cruise ship in the Icon Class available for booking for 2025 sailings out of Port Canaveral! 🥳
We just took GoPort for Wonder of the Seas out of Port Canaveral and had a wonderful experience!
This is definitely a family oriented ship. Is there a babysitting service? It IS the destination. There’s no need to go anywhere just float around the ocean.
Adventure Ocean is the kids center that is open throughout the day for kids to meet each other and hang out under crew supervision while the parents can go play! 😉
The ship is beautiful however the hangout spaces still seem too small for the amount of kids and adults that the ship holds
