As a bisexual i understand this situation. Not romanticizing gay relationships nor shaming straight ones, but it’s usually easy when I’m dealing with guys.
My dad found an answer to this question a long time ago. Whenever he had a chance to eat a meal out with just one of us (he had three daughters), he'd take us to a place he'd eaten with someone from his work before and basically say "Let's try this place." 9/10 we ended up loving the place and recommending it whenever we got to eat out with him. Worked like a charm and he almost always knew the answer to "Where do you want to eat?" For me, it was always either a sports bar he introduced me to (which I still love) or pizza.
One of my Ex's always wanted to go out to eat, but never knew where. I would list off every place in a ten mile radius and for every one, "I don't like that place" or "I don't like anything they have there." Even tho we had been countless times. Then she would get pissed that I would pick a place and "make" her go. The woman I was with after her didn't always know where she wanted to go. But most times that I picked a place she was happy with it, mainly because she was happy to be with me. I miss that.
