- Docking a Powerboat in style! - Can you do this?
Inspired by the CZcams movie of a world record attempt to park a Mini in a tiny slot between two other minis this video shows Hannah 'J Turning' a RIB into a space shorter than the boat length.
Hannah has boated since 4 weeks old and has previously circumnavigated Ireland in a 4.9m RIB ('Pink Panther') with another woman, Mo. She's an RYA Advanced Powerboat & Personal Watercraft ('jetski') Instructor and a Commercial Skipper. This is not the sort of manoeuvre that you can do as a beginner but RYA Powerboat Level 2 starts you on the path to being able to do this!

That's a handbrake turn on water....very slick.
Top piece of parking. I'm going to have a go at that when I next go out, I can see the physics of it but just missed the throttle positioning (idle ahead/idle astern) as the RIB draws parallel and uses the final energy in the manoeuvre to slide sideways into the berth.
That's what I love about boating, any (insert appropriate expletive here) can go fast but it takes real skill and awareness to be able to get the setup for parking and that was spot on.

why the fenders because its a RIB it has inflatable sides so you don't damage anything

Sadly where we were we couldn't launch the drone - use it for other shots though
