I even thought that listening to the pro Serrano commentary which gave Katie Taylor no props whatsoever for anything she did and whilst Taylor was winning rounds all they spoke about was Serrano winning rounds that already happened.

One of the best fights iv ever seen, it had it all, great skills, toe to toe action, both showed alot of heart especially Katie, great energy from the crowd, and Eddie showed why he's the best when it comes to promoting, having an Irish family I was always gonna root for Katie but I honestly would of took a draw, Amanda fought really well and coming up 2 weight divisions and putting on a show like that shows what a warrior she is, props to both women there a credit to the sport 🇮🇪🇵🇷 🥊🥊

There is. One is a win, and that's what it'll show in the history books. New people who come into the sport and check stats will see an L for Serrano and a W for Taylor. All context will be lost by then.
It's like with so many undefeated fighters. Nobody cares or remembers any close fights they had 3+ years ago. Recency bias combined with the continuous movement in sports erase those, and help cement the records as they are

I remember Serrano starting off strong the first half of the fight.. Got to rewatch it
First 3 rounds were Katie’s. Amanda was loading up on power punches and Katie was slipping really well whilst landing accurately. Amanda was the aggressor but got pieced up first 3.

@@GodDid94 No, Katie held her own in the fifth round. Both ladies were great in that final exchange. You could only really score a 10-8 if Taylor had little to no output or was knocked down. Taylor did REALLY well in this fight to not get knocked down and to dog out a couple rounds.
I don’t normally tune into women’s boxing but this fight was really one for the ages. They need a rematch.

Katie Taylor won very clearly. Serrano needed to TAKE those belts from her. Needed a definitive win. Yeah she had Taylor taking punishment but that was only 2 rounds and she stepped off the gas and allowed Taylor to come back and get the clear win.

I don't watch nearly as muchof women's boxing as men but I don't like the amount of volume they seem to throw in regards to power it always looks messy. Deff need to clean up those punches for a better descion and clean up the footwork

Jake Paul doesn't know when to stop. It's a 6v4 fight a gripping competitive, amazing boxing match between 2 excellent fighters.
He should take it on the chin, his chin is big enough to take it and show some humility.
At this stage if I was Hearn I'd look elsewhere for a fighter for Katys home coming fight and dump Jake Paul.

the fight could have gone either way. it is boxing so you never know if the judges lean one way depending on what promotion they get hired under but i just wonder how one judge scored it 97-93 for katie. there’s no way she won by that much 😂. they definitely need a rematch though and katie needs to accept the 3 minute rounds this time
Why does she? All governing bodies sanction 2 minute rounds. So we need to all change the rules because one fighter thinks 3 minute rounds suit her best.
A: The belts will not be on the line and governing bodies will not sanction the fight.
B: Actual scientists have carried out extensive tests as funded by the WBC and the biological differences between men and women mean that women are far more likely to suffer from concussion and two minute rounds reduces the risk of dehydration which is a massive factor in concussions.
C: The reality is even though they are both fantastic fighters, Taylor is the real drawer and clear A side, any female fighter that fights her has their highest payday, including Serrano.
Mate you could have a complete white wash in the score cards, and it could be a close fight, imagine someone having a fight and just taking each round like by a few punches, the end result will say white wash but the actual fight was close, sometimes you will get wide scorecards in close fights.

The commentary team was incredibly biased towards Serrano. It was absurd actually and very transparent. The dude doing the scoring also on screen... seemed off for sure live.
