However, if they are compared by the actions of the Serb-dominated Yugoslav government of the late 80s and beyond and the actions of their allies it is minor. Apartheid and brutal war tactics are not in any way comparable to genocide.
The evil of the Serb perpetrated ethnic cleansing and genocide during the Yugoslav wars has very much been downplayed since the events took place. While the other sides were far from saints in this regard, Serbia did this on another level. To the point that they allowed an ally to attack a UN safeheaven.

You do realize it was a civil war right?
In 1999, there was an international enquiry into the Racak massacre, which was the pretext for the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, the head investigator was from Finland and she refused to call it a massacre or genocide, but USA insisted on it not because they cared about Albanians, but because they wanted to have a new base in Kosovo, which they have to this day. There is absolutely no threat of Serbia ever bringing military to Kosovo unless with an international consensus, so why do they still have the largest base there?
Please, read some history before spilling random facts xD

Always hear about chinas war record is the best but what we don't hear is why it is so. It's becuase china never had the solidarity of power and unity nor the military strength to challenge anyone or any country. Modern china never had the ability to project power anywhere until recent. Now we will all see that change in our lifetime the new "rising power" and ccp Assertiveness regarding other nations. The conflicts are already presently in action and planned. Example. Tibet,Mongolia increased suppression at home, south china sea illegal claim, bullying its neighbors preventing access to there own regional south china sea, biggest military build since WW2, and plans to take democratic tiawan, non military involvement of neighbor's politics/policies in favor of china, actively suppressing world views and opinions on china even in free countries, actively pursuing all chinese citizens of free countries with treats to family so they do as they are told, creating leverage anywhere and everywhere for future use and pressure, the list is loooong.... that's what is hidden in CCP of china strategy for the future by all government accomplices without question. So ya defend your country with truths not made up lies then maybe the world would listen. CCP the greatest Magicians ever in history.

Because the mainstream Western public opinion in the media has portrayed Russia as a dragon that destroys everything, Russia cannot negotiate. But in fact Russia can negotiate, as long as Russia's security borders are respected, the problem will not escalate to this level. According to politically correct theory, Ukraine has the right to decide whether to join any military organization, no matter how much Ukraine's decision threatens Russia's geo-security. But considering the age-old realist politics of the nineteenth century, Russia must defend and respond to visible threats. Russia will never be castrated in silence.
In fact, this is the subtext of the Chinese ambassador, and both sides take a step back. Respect each other's core interests and don't try to change the boundaries of influence. It's not politically correct, but it must be done if one wants to be responsible for peace.
Unfortunately, due to the promotion of various forces, value diplomacy is now the mainstream in Europe. All European politicians have to struggle to survive in this wave of ideas and make decisions that go against objective rationality

Russia, or the RUS, is basically the newest nation from all of the eastern Slavic states. Kazakhstan is older, Bulgaria is older, etc. etc., so only because the Ukraine (which is btw also older), has been under Soviet rule in the last century, doesn't give him the right to use "history" as a justification for Russian's invasion. Admiral, NATO is NO LONGER a defensive alliance. You negate your defensive objectives when you actively pursue neutral nations to join your side (admitted by George Robertson, the 10th Secretary General of NATO) and once those buffer zones are dismantled you are deemed to have crept all the way to your declared enemy’s doorstep. That’s considered offensive dear Admiral.
And you said it’s not NATO that made decisions but the member states. Well, France and Germany and many others rejected NATO’s invasion of Iraq but NATO through US lead, went in anyway.

    • @zwcdamien
      @zwcdamien Před rokem +9

Ludicrous. You obviously don’t know the difference between offensive and defensive. In terms of military alliances and war, offensive means that you directly engage in a war. Defensive means that you don’t. It has nothing to do with finding new members, which by the way you are wrong about. NATOs new members have actively pursued a membership, not the other way around. Poland, the Baltic states, Bulgaria, Romania, all of them engaged and heavily invested to join the NATO alliance - as well as Finland and Sweden. What drove them to join the alliance? Russia’s total disregard of their neighbours and the constant bullying they were subjected to. Not to mention the 100 years of total brutalisation of its people by the Russian empire and then the Soviet.

    • @zwcdamien

NATO wasn’t in Iraq idiot. Members of NATO joined to war in Iraq but that doesn’t mean it was an operation conducted by NATO. Non-NATO members was also involved in the war of Iraq: for example the Kurds, Iraqis themselves, and countries from the Arab League.

@@zwcdamien oh, I don’t? So aspiring to be at their declared enemy’s doorstep in terms of military alliance is defensive? So you dismantle the buffer zones to rub shoulders with your declared enemy? Do use some logic ya.
And the American ambassador to the USSR Jack Matlock too has written on how the US was romancing those nations to join, to take sides. By right, once the Warsaw Pact was dissolved NATO should cease to exist. Joe Biden and his gang were talking up a storm in congress to entice those Eastern Europe countries into NATO to sustain its relevance back in 1997. How did Russia totally disregard her neighbours? Did she not reluctantly build Nord Stream 2 after Germany convinced her that it won’t be subject to political schemes?? Did Russia not make Europeans rich by supplying cheap energy and raw materials?

    • @zwcdamien

And he has only managed to worsen this relationship by invading his neighbouring country - one that shares so much history and family ties, it’s despicable. If he’s ready to butcher, rape and torment his Slavic brothers and sister, there’s no telling what he might be capable of. I’m sorry but buffer zones has no place in the modern world. Again, you’re stuck in the Cold War mentality. Russia reluctance to dissolve its empire during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and its imperialistic ambition is what’s at fault here. It couldn’t manage her fall from grace as the empires of Austria-Hungary, Germany, the Ottomans, and later the French and British did. Its resentment is the issue here, and the denial to face reality. Instead of becoming a normal and thriving western/European nation, Russia has lingered on to the past of its glory days. And don’t act like Russia out of humble kindness supplied Europeans with energy has she herself didn’t gain anything of it. It’s been a cooperation. One that Europeans hoped would be constructive and peaceful. Now they’re screaming and begging after advanced western technology and microchips.

Improving trade is a form of diplomatic relations. The business and profit are a given 🙄🙄🙄 for it’s expected to profit from trade. The European leaders and people like you are just disgruntled that Russia could have the upper hand over Europe 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Russia couldn’t handle its fall from grace?
