- Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra performing Thumri for Komal Nishad in January 2012. This is a tribute to the legendary Pt. Rajan Mishra, who, in the course of years, became like a close family member to Shri Jha and Komal Nishad.
In this particular concert (Part 1) we took the opportunity to celebrate Pt. Rajan ji's greatness and facilitated him. We thought, this video would be very symbolic of our respect and fondness of the great maestro.
This concert was also memorable for Panditjis. On Jha Saheb's request Panditjis perfromed Raag Bhupali, a raag which they hadn't performed for a very long time. Needless to say that the performance was spell bounding, as you will see int he video, but the maestros enjoyed it themselves. They specifically mentioned his performance, Komal Nishad and Bhupali, and their experience singing this particular concert, in an interview given in the United States.
They were accompanied by the legendary Pt. Kumar Bose on Tabla and Pt. Dharmanath Mishra on the Harmonium.

जय हो श्रद्धेय गुरुद्वय। आपकी तो बात ही अद्भुत और निराली है। खयाल की तरह ही ठुमरी को भी इतने अधिक विस्तार से मधुकरी गायकी में पिरोकर प्रस्तुत करना बहुत मुश्किल बात है। यह सब दर्शाता है कि घराने की जड़े कितनी गहरी हैं और आपका संगीत का चिंतन किस दर्जे का है। सादर प्रणाम आपके श्री चरणों में।
