I've ALWAYS thought that Kyrgios could beat anyone and even be Number One, if he just cared enough to buckle down and do it. Because I've ALSO always thought that he just couldn't be bothered to actually try.
It wasn't that he couldn't be bothered. The Australian media was always so much against him from the age of 19 that he couldn't even get on court without a disgustingly scathing report. Often he played through shocking pain because he knew what they would write if he withdrew from injury. Australia is horribly racist, still is. He managed a lot considering what he was up against.
Not true at all. It’s more that he doesn’t like the pressure of being a top player and having expectations. Whenever the pressure has been on him, he’s always disappointed. He actually has an appalling record against top 10 in grand slams, having played over 20 opponents and only winning 4, 2 of which came in 2022 against Tsitsipas on grass and Medvedev when he was at his lowest
Kyrgios gives everyone a tough time. Had he been a bit more serious he could have overshadowed everyone like tsistsipas, zverev and even med to some extent but as the saying goes hard work defeats talent if talent doesn't works hard.

Finishing a match against Medvedev with 4 aces on CLAY is physically possible? 😂😂😂
We need Nick back at the courts, hope to see Nick healthy soon...

Not about hard work. He couldn't move in Australia without the media mocking and jeering at everything he did. Wrong colour. Wrong side of the tracks.
