Then technically speaking Eva Unit-13 requires both Shinji and Kaoru to pilot it, and essentially Unit-13 is Kaoru itself so Shinji and Kaoru is riding Kaoru himself....

i'm sure BANDAI will release a future kit specifically with shield effect, so you have to buy a 2nd kit just for that 💸💰😂
I was hoping that would be included in a DX set.
There is the option of buying the revoltech yamaguchi eva weapon set which comes with both the cannon and the shield but the size of the shield will be a little small but close enough to cover most of eva 0 body it's just that eva 0 will need to slouch abit more then she should if you don't mind it.
Get the LMhg version from the late 90's every kit comes with the shield and all the weapons except the canon ok not RG standard but better than nothing until the inevatable p-bandai set

This kit is cool and all, but something feels off seeing an eva without the big pylons.
Happens often in the show though, especially with Eva-00
I'm hoping we'll see a blue version with the pylons. Not sure if it'll happen though since Bandai seems to be basing the RGs off of the Rebuilds over the original anime.
Edit: Saw that the pylons are included. I'll just build it that way even if it ain't accurate.

Finally, Bandai EVA kits with actual articulation ! I hope they do more of those after Unit 2. The Mark 6 would look great in RG.

Really would have loved a set including some of the TV Series weapons. The TV Nerv Positron Rifle being a favorite of mine even if said weapon was useless and had a track record of doing jack all to Arafael.

Wish we could have a large version of this one like the rebuild kits. The large rebuild kits uses rubber arms that could break due to wear and tear and it make the kits ugly. The Unit 8 and repaired Unit 2 uses different arm mechanism though as they don't use rubber arms. But hey this RG looks good.

Im collecting the LMHG series (ok 2 so far but got to get the rest) at least with the HG you get the weapons and shield with the added bonus of figures in that weird rubber plastic that takes forever to fix the seamlines but a comparison would be nice to see I agree
These are some of bandais best kits he said it but I highly recommend them it’s the only time I’ve bought every kit in a line I have unit 01 both version as well as unit 00 both version and I would say it’s worth it

The Positron Rifle is awesome and all, but instead I wish this kit came with the shield Unit 00 had in 1.11 or N2 Missile it used in 2.22.
I think the shield it came with in the anime will be part of an expansion set.

Those arms and shoulders are very inaccurate. And in this video, those ankle armor are upside down on both units.
I hope they release the bays separately for the evas so I can get them all in their bays otherwise I'm going to have so many unit 1s

I'm just curious as to what the Kotobukiya kits look next to these RGs No one has done a side by side comparison at all. I only own the RG Unit 01 so I'm really curious.

I know Bandai will sell me the blue retrofit pieces at the price of a full kit... and I’ll buy it... along with another Unit 00 kit just so I can have both variants. Also, I read a few comments asking about the shield, which would be awesome. Honestly feel like the display base should have been an add-on, Unit 01 should have come with the cannon, and Unit 00 should have come with the shield for that sick anime-accurate pose. (Also, would love the sniper rifle as an add-on for the blue retrofit parts)
All I needed to hear was "Real Grade Evangelion" and I'm sold. The old HG models are HELL to try to pose, both because they're High Grade and due to how top-heavy the Neon Genesis EVA designs are thanks to their slender torsos but wide shoulders. I would love to see the rest of the New Theatrical EVAs and Angels [along with the Mass Production EVAs from NGE and some of the Anima EVAs] turned into RGs, I NEED to be able to recreate Unit 13 and Unit 01's fight from 3.0+1.0.
