expensive restaurant, just venture out and turn off main roads, cheaper, this is a kick back hotel, we fed 3, was pricey for Cuba Feb 2020
when we stayed in a house in habana, 9 of us could connect with the same card, but in the hotel at varadero it was 1 person per card. i guess it depends on the connection point

It's Not Too Hot, it is the high humidity !! When the humidity gets to and above 50% it feels "hot" . . . . .

Above 50% humidity is "HOT" if the temperature is 90 F or about 45 C.
If the breeze is blowing and you have water to drink and to pour over your head and neck, important !!
La Punta You can swim there,and there are food and drink stalls,the Moorish building is a hotel,one of 3 or 4 along there And you missed the beautiful building Cienfuegos Yacht Club,different activities held there,and also food and drink available

10:35 - too sad guys, you don't have snorkelling kits (mask and fins), cause just 20-30 m from the shore in the sea threre is a coral reef and plenty of multi-color fish !

Broski Cienfuegos has changed a lot more and i was at that beach two months ago and it was beautiful soooooo what’s up with that
K, a few comments and a few questions. First, another nice job filming and commenting. Second, the architecture and the colors of the buildings in each of the places you've shown thus far is fantastic. You say a lot of the places you saw look run down but you've mostly shown the beauty, including the central squares, which are impressive (by American standards). Btw, Cuba's parliament building or whatever it's called in Habana that you showed looked a lot like the U.S. Capitol Building. 3rd, bummer about the littered beach. I don't know if you encountered this when you were in Puerto Rico but we did once big time on the west coast there (Mayaguez) and it colored our whole view of Puerto Rico, even though we liked San Juan, etc. Questions: 1. Did you use 'modified Portugese' to communicate with the locals or English or do you both know enough Spanish? I would think most Cubans don't speak English but maybe I'm wrong. Did you have communication problems there? 2. What percent of the cars are the 1950's & 60's American classics? It seems like a high percentage from your videos but maybe it's actually a small percentage. 3. Did you or Carolina have a Cuban sandwich while there? They're very popular in NYC - whenever I'm at a restaurant with that on the menu (we have a Cuban restaurant near where I work in Brooklyn), I always get one. :) Hope you had a good time overall ... we've been on the fence about going but less excited to go lately ..... too many other places we want to see .... maybe you'll sum things up of your & Carol's final take in a separate video which would be interesting to hear ..... All the Best.
Hey there, we speak quite a bit of Spanish since it is similar to Portuguese and then just fill in the gaps with Portuguese and it has always worked out that way, you are right that barely anyone speaks English at all so would be tricky without some basics in Spanish for sure! I would say maybe 50-60% of the cars are from the 50s but there are many others from around the 80s I think. Only a very few very modern ones really. We never had a Cuban sandwich, does that have meat In it?
@@JumpingPlaces Yeah, Cuban bread which is kind of like a dense, thin wrap, lightly braised on a grill, and has roast pork &/or ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard ... yum ... and probably fattening but hey ... yeah, you guys gotta find one & try it
Ah me and carol don’t eat meat, only fish and veggies. Maybe they do a veggie or fish version? Also I read a blog from a guy that said Cuban food is usually better outside of Cuba as they are less stingy with the ingredients
@@BillKing3456 I doubt you are going to find condiments such as pickles, Swiss cheese and mustard in Cuba. I never even seen that in 5 star hotels there. Remember that there is an embargo which also affects their food supply. Most food in Cuba is locally grown or made. You 'd have a better chance at finding a Big Foot before a slice of Swiss cheese. If you do find cheese in Cuba it's probably goat cheese because cow milk is scarce. The cow milk (imported powdered milk) they do serve to tourists will most likely only be found in major tourist areas. There aren't many dairy cows in Cuba. But they make best with what they have to work with.

Yeah this was one of the worst beaches I have seen for trash 🙁
