22 Minutes that Changed David Wood's Mind

- At the end of May 2022 David Wood announced he would delete his channel, Acts17Apologetics. When the date came a little over a month later, he didn't actually delete it but instead gifted it to Hatun Tash. There were multiple reasons for the change, but it was my interview with him that pushed him over the edge and changed his mind, live on air. Here are those crucial minutes that changed history, restored to CZcams for the first time.

his video content is of great value in Christian apologetics covering especially islam; even though I disagree on those he covers topics he's not well informed (or misinformed on)
it's best left intact, than it disappearing altogether
David is great. Pioneering, courageous, fun, intelligent. But I actually think I might prefer Reasoned Answers content. Not that it's a competition or that anyone really cares about my preference. Just saying to be encouraging.

The psychopath?
The British museum showed us the Ancient Pagan Syrians from present day Homs used to worship a Black Stone that represented their Sun god El Gabal or "Ilah al-Jabal" or Baal. The Black Stone was placed in their cube temple in Homs. It was taken to Rome in the 3rd century as depicted on Roman coins and later returned to the Syrians Pagans in Homs. The fate of the Black Stone beyond the 4th century is unknown. The popular academic opinion is that it would have been used for continued worship at another Pagan Baal Temple somewhere in Arabia.
@@JesusisaMuslim Roman commander aelius Gallas lead an expedition of 11,000 men through the Hijaz (Mecca) region in 25BC. On their return one year later not one man reported Mecca or the kaaba. The kaaba was built by Arab Pagans post 4th century in accordance with Nabataean Pagan Cube temples built in Northern Arabia 4 centuries earlier. Archaeological history cannot lie, only people.
Even the author of quran admit he could not stop kaaba becoming pagan place of worship. Clown shoes. Everything you believe is a lie. You even think a Jew is a Muslim 🤡👞🙃

I knew it was a terrible idea to delete! I know why he wanted to do it, and I get it, but there were better options.
@@matinoutho9058 You mean like Islam apologists at YT deleting, censoring, and striking his videos because they couldn't actually rebut his arguments; hence he decided to delete them himself and create his own platform before they banned him entirely? Had they banned him entirely he wouldn't technically even be able to put his videos on another channel. Stop projecting and strawman'n people. It makes you look like a liar.

@@ProfYaffle no giving it to hatun was a good idea. I remember when he did it, and it was a better idea than just deleting it out right. I don't however think the website is a good idea and that's just my opinion I'm just one person on planet Earth. I just don't see people affording to pay for it.

It is interesting to see how David and others have almost exhausted the subject of Islam and no effective replies have been forthcoming from any credible Muslim authorities. David is now applying himself to deeper concepts of Christian philosophy. Shamoun is advancing in promoting patristic theology which is a joy as he makes accessible the faith of the “undivided” church of the first millennium. Lloyd is applying his mind to political atheism. Jay and Al’Fadi are soldiering on but they are playing the same records to keep the unanswered questions live on the agenda. AP admits that he has probably said all that he has to say. Mel (and his pals) is the engaging researcher who is leaving no stone unturned opening continuous new agendas in the subject of critical Islamic study. What would be good would be to hear a reasoned response to so much of what now remains on the table but unanswered.
I have a number of cards yet to play (most the ideas on my to do list are things I've rarely/never seen addressed). Islam Critiqued is cutting new ground as well... What is barely explored is the first centuries of Islam. In principle that is what Mel, Jay, and the like do, but they have a very particular area of interest within that time frame so there is a ton of stuff they aren't covering/aren't interested in.

I'd like to see what the qurantools (previously qurangateway) and the Corpus Coranicum websites have achieved so far. Perhaps the guy at Islam Critiqued, or Thomas Alexander or Daniel Brubaker (or ALL of them!) could provide a summary status report on all the know quranic variants, the deliberate changes made to old manuscripts, and anything exciting that has been found along the way.

Yep, I'll definitely cover that. Comments on the DW archive reveal everyday that many people still have no idea where he is.

As near as I can tell, David turned them off at some point and Hatun hasn't them back on. No idea why David turned them off to begin with.

@@ReasonedAnswers all religions have faults and complicated ideas, we know that no religion can find fault with another, because human beings are imperfect. Books sre not like people, people have feelings and have many reasons for their choice of religion.

Thadeus..I'm confused. Are you still smarting that David handed over all his subscribers to Hatun and not you, in the end?
Bear mind David doesn't focus on preaching Christianity here, but on bringing Islam to its knees, and in a very informative, clever and amusing way. Without David's dynamic persona and his chosen subject matters, it doesn't matter who owns his channel now... subs will drop dramatically and so will views.
A lot of aetheists and agnostics watched his channel because they wanted to see David crush Islam any way he could while being entertained at the same time.

@@ReasonedAnswers Thaddeus, that's good, but then why make ANOTHER video pointing this perceived reneging out? You even brought it up again in your live video with David a day later. He never said he definately would sell it to you but that he would 'consider' it. He broke no promises. It seems he likes and respects you, so please don't keep putting him on the spot. And the purpose of releasing this the day before the livestream was to... promote the livestream. The purpose of asking if David would be interested in the supergroup was to... find out if he is interested in the supergroup. No hidden agenda. No animosity. I am quite happy the way things worked out.
