Haruka was my lesbian awakening. I remember thinking how cool she was when I was still in the closet/in denial to myself. I was scared to come out to the world. Now, as I prepare for an interview for my own movie script about two lesbians, I decided to turn on this song to remind myself how far I've come.

Risa Ooki (大木理紗) is a singer who performed one of Sailor Uranus's image songs for the Sailor Moon anime. Megumi Ogata was the voice actress for Sailor Uranus and therefore would normally have performed the song, but she was unavailable at the time.

I read somewhere that Megumi Ogata disagreed with the lyrics, that they didn't fit her portrayal of Haruka from the anime.
